Welcome to DOTW for the week of Oct 15 – 19

Have fun answering these questions and please no fighting or bashing

1. As we all know, Raunak has died in Kasturi. Honestly, without playing bias to your favorite characters do you think it was necessary to kill of his character in order for the story to progress?

2. Kasturi is a widow now. How much do you believe in some of the traditions that Indians compel upon widow? Do you think it should be part of the mourning process, or do you think these traditions are social barriers that need to be broken?

3. The much talked about scene, Robbie proposing to Kasturi. Are you supporting him since the reason behind his actions have not been revealed yet? Do you think he insulted his friend and his "bhabhi" by doing so? Why do you think he did so?

4. Tanu and Ariv have something brewing. Any predictions? Do you think it is realistic for two daughters who have been raised in the same family to grow up and become so radically different? Do you think Tanu loves her family or was she faking everything from the beginning?

5. Revenge has been a big theme is Kasturi. Robbie seeking revenge from Kasturi. Ariv seeking revenge from Vikas. Should Kasturi seek revenge from her husbands killer, if he has been murdered,? Do you think an emotion such as revenge should even exist? Does it help anyone or "satisfy the soul" or is it just the reason for hatred and fight?

Have fun answering the questions, and enjoy the weekend

If you have any suggestions for the questions, please feel free to PM me.

1. As we all know, Raunak has died in Kasturi. Honestly, without playing bias to your favorite characters do you think it was necessary to kill of his character in order for the story to progress? im a die heart fan of Raunak, and love RaKa more than RoKa, personally i can understand why some say raunak's death was not a surprise, i also knew he would one day die, but soo soon?? very least expected...i think we wanted more RaKa...despite being a big fan, i think raunak's death was needed to reunite RoKa... 😭 but i hope this show doesnt go KTH but KZK way and raunak returns b4 RoKa reunite..just lyk bajaj returns after the dead and reunite with prerna...😳

2. Kasturi is a widow now. How much do you believe in some of the traditions that Indians compel upon widow? Do you think it should be part of the mourning process, or do you think these traditions are social barriers that need to be broken? hmm interesting questions, and our views will vary as some will say the traditions are there to abide by and some will say no, but i think sometimes the traditions do go a bit to overboard, especially when sometimes its considered a paap for a widow to take part in marriage ceremonies and calling her ashubh and all that... i think the insults and some traditions are really bad!!! feel sorry for the women... especially those who live in villages...

3. The much talked about scene, Robbie proposing to Kasturi. Are you supporting him since the reason behind his actions have not been revealed yet? Do you think he insulted his friend and his "bhabhi" by doing so? Why do you think he did so? it was too soon, to propose on his chautha, was too soon, i think he should have waited, kasturi isn't even in her sense yet...i understand he wants kasturi's happiness and wants to help her but the time wasn't right... maybe give it some time, let Kasturi get hold of herself then he could have...he rushed it, and yeh proposing on raunak's chautha was wrong, sort of an insult to raunak and his widow. no one should propose marriage on someone's chautha, thats so bad, its lyk tht person's death is nothing to you, and all u wanna do is get on with ur life...he should have seriously waited...

4. Tanu and Ariv have something brewing. Any predictions? Do you think it is realistic for two daughters who have been raised in the same family to grow up and become so radically different? Do you think Tanu loves her family or was she faking everything from the beginning? i couldnt' care less abt this tanu and ariv couple.. but i hope she sees that ariv is nt worth it, and accepts vikas properly...he's not that bad!

5. Revenge has been a big theme in Kasturi. Robbie seeking revenge from Kasturi. Ariv seeking revenge from Vikas. Should Kasturi seek revenge from her husbands killer, if he has been murdered,? Do you think an emotion such as revenge should even exist? Does it help anyone or "satisfy the soul" or is it just the reason for hatred and fight? i think the revenge thing goes a little too far especially in Kasturi... u end up playing with the others feelings,i.e. tanu and ariv playing with vikas feelings... and no one has that right... i think kasturi should get the person punished...she isnt someone to seek revenge...but i hope raunak returns😳

@ninasabin: you are right, let me clarify the question, i meant early on in the story, when he thought ka and ra are having an affair, he seeked revenge by humiliating her, thats what i was referring too.
anyone else want to contribute their opinion? 😳

Personally No - I would have liked this story to progress like a real life story - Just with additional masala and sweetness where Robbie would forgive and forget; move on and create his own happiness. Believeable yet hopeful and endearing - like teh initial love story.

Kasturi is a widow now. How much do you believe in some of the traditions that Indians compel upon widow? Do you think it should be part of the mourning process, or do you think these traditions are social barriers that need to be broken?
I believe traditions started with logic and practicality in mind ages ago but over the time we have lost the meaning but have blindly followed rituals - in fact twisted them to make them more stringent. To be honest, in real life I haven't seen shabby treatment dished out to widows as in movies and shows. I hate what is shown in these TV serials and really agree with Pragz observation in another thread that these just add to the prejudices of the masses. If Kekta wants to bring awareness on how deplorable these are, then she needs to show stronger characters who oppose and stand up against such treatment. And I hope we will grow out these customs some day soon.

The much talked about scene, Robbie proposing to Kasturi. Are you supporting him since the reason behind his actions have not been revealed yet? Do you think he insulted his friend and his "bhabhi" by doing so? Why do you think he did so?
Whatever his reasons are, however convincing they are (I checked the original, & they were delivered with much integrity - I am not entirely sure Robbie can do justice to that scene) - I still dont support his untimely proposal. I found it very distasteful and lacking in sensibility. I know Robbie is shown as a very impulsive character - but if he cannot learn from his own mistakes, there is not much hope for him, is there?

Tanu and Ariv have something brewing. Any predictions? Do you think it is realistic for two daughters who have been raised in the same family to grow up and become so radically different? Do you think Tanu loves her family or was she faking everything from the beginning?
The trio wants me to throw up - preferably over them - that's how gross they are 🤢. Dont even want to waste my thoughts on😡 them.

hmm Can I add another angle to this? Raunak for some reason not shown to us wanted revenge from Robbie. So he faked his own death and is orchestrating all this. How about that 😆😆😉
Well that's how ridiculuous, i find the notion of revenge in BT shows.😛

Good Questions 😊

Since i am not biased towards anyone character with the exception of devika, i can honestly say that it wasn't necessary to have ronuak killed off, he could have just divorced kasturi when he said he would have and i think that would have been a better solution then having ronuak bumped off, for i am still wondering about shivani and him?

Kasturi is a widow now. How much do you believe in some of the traditions that Indians compel upon widow? Do you think it should be part of the mourning process, or do you think these traditions are social barriers that need to be broken?
I dont know much about Indian Religion,so what ever i know about it is through the movies and few dramas i have seen, and i dont understand why one widow has to take off her mangulsutra, i mean isn't kind of like a wedding ring? and i dont think women should ever have to take off their wedding ring regardless if they are widowed or not, its sentimental value still holds regardless if the person is alive or not. i apologize if i offended anyone by the comparison of the two things, for its totally out of ignorance and nothing else so sorry...

The much talked about scene, Robbie proposing to Kasturi. Are you supporting him since the reason behind his actions have not been revealed yet? Do you think he insulted his friend and his "bhabhi" by doing so? Why do you think he did so?

I have not seen KTH so i have nothing to base my comments on, that being said i feel yes the timing is horrible, but i need to keep this in a drama context and things need to move on for me i'm getting very tired of waiting to see robbie and kasturi together again, so i feel that at least the show is moving finally. Did robbie insult anyone depends if he's doing it cause he fears for kasturi then we need to say for the greater good no he hasnt offended anyone, and ronuak would be very hurt to see his mother kicking kas out and blaming kasturi for his death and would probably appreciate robbie for standing up for her when obviously katuri isnt in any way defending herself. and her parents cant do anything either for now tanu is also married into the same family and the rishtay is very delicate.

Like anju said i would rather baarf on these people, but i do feel this arreev is a troubled younge man who could have killed ronuak so i'll watch him closely. Yes kids in the same family can very well be extremely different. its the old debate nature vs nurture thing. Tanu may very well love her family but not more then she luves herself.

I personally believe in the death penelty so i'm going to say yes revenge is important depending on the crime, i have no qualms about sending a drunk driver to jail for killing someone. Fear of ones consequences keeps our society from falling into mayhem. So yes kasturi should find the person responsible for ronauk's death if indeed it was murder and that murderer deserves to be brought to justice, but in the manner she pursues the killer i know will probably really tick me off, for she will go around sneeking and listening to conversations and come up with her own half baked conclusions and end up sending the wrong person to jail.

great questions i really want to thank you for some soul searching questions 👏

regards

robina
