No, i'm not comparing Kasturi, the character, to an animial!!!!...i mean to say that kasturi, the serial, is moving at a snail's pace ...the story is stuck at the same place, just like a priced cassate gets stuck in the tape recorder, playing the same word again and again....and it is extremely annoying to watch (what i thought was) a very nice storyline getting stuck...there doesnt seem to be any roads leading forward, but plenty leading backward (since they have been playing the same track for two months now)...the few new tracks that are being brought forward (according to me) lack spark and originality. Lets look at how and where the characters are stuck or unstuck!-
Robbie stuck in quicksand - if he does not really try and pull himself up he is going to get 'sucked in' big time. For how long will Robbie try to win his love back, when all his attempts to do so have become null and void so far...he either has to move on or needs a new campaign director (im sure there are many here who would rally for the post!) who might be a little more creative and successful than the current one (i mean what is he going to achieve by getting kasturi to work for him, and repeating the same or similar dialogues -' you will come back to me one day', now that one day seems as far or as near as dooms day).
kasturi and raunak stuck in a trafficjam - or it may seem that way because the are not moving forward or backward (or in any direction!)...all they can talk about is 'aapsi samaj' or 'humsafar ka saath'...they are about as boring a couple as a monologue show on the history of ants which may play on discovery chanel. Sorry no offence to kasturi or raunak fans...For a start why can they not move out of the zoo called sabbarwal singhania mansion (especially taking into account that the officials have permitted a new enrant into the already over crowed place!). There is no real argument between them, no jokes, they dont seem to share any likes and dislikes...they only moan sadly or moan happily....and yes, they 'say' their relationship is getting stronger and perhaps some signs are visible to viewers but they still seem to be the friends they were (giving each other coy looks to suggest otherwise) when they got married. (i know mumbai is famous for his neck to neck traffic but come on!!!!!)
Tanu and Vikas - they are only ones who have borded the concorde and got to where they are (right now in the story) at jet setting spead...but what is ektaa trying to say, that women have to get married or sit in a quite corner contributing nothing to the household or the country?! i would have liked to see Tanu take responsibility and get a job to support her family, just as kasturi did at the start of the serial....and vikas, when he woke up to the word 'responsibility' i would have rather he helped his brother resurrect the business rather than suggest marriage...one gets married after they become responsible and just deciding to get married is not a sign of maturity or responsibility.
Nandini - now, heres another character that has developed ...but do we really want to see her compete with the other tv saas' for the 'Best' saas of the year....do we want to see her twitch he jaw muscles in anger and give those frightful expressions to kasturi....do we want to see another saas bahu drama???
kasturi and tanu - can ektaa not leave well enough alone? Why create differences between sisters all the time...are women really so fickle that they forget years of bonding for inane things like jewellery and money etc etc...i would be happy if i had a sister and if we were married into the same family and she got more affection than i did!!!! It would be refreshing to see Tanu and kasturi thwart all attempts (from devika and nandini) to create differences but we all know where this is headed.
Most importantly, the main plot with the three leads is just where it is - robbie still sheds copious tears in every second episode (if not every episode) and pines away for his lost love, raunak still talks about how kasturi is his biggest strength, and kasturi still talks about how robbie cannot break her relationship with raunak, and kasturi and raunak still talk about their aapsi samaj and dard ka rishta (great, coz this aapsi samaj will see them to their graves i guess), devika is still scheming, puru is still 'lost', dushant is still silent, (i know alka changing and thank god for that!), poojas secret is still safely locked in a box at the bottom of the indian ocean, and there are still misunderstandings and miscommunication (s) galore....phew...not a nominee for the best TV serial thats for sure!!!!
