Hi everyone!! I'm back from my holiday: I had a wonderful time, though I'm still missing my family, friends and my best mate. But I'm glad to be back! Heheheh. Now I'm here back with my next instalment. I apologise for the delay, as I had too much on my plate and to top that, I was trying to catch up on all my missed soaps. I had so much work to do!! I mean soooo much! Like planning a huuuuuge career change isn't that easy. Anyways, I hope you like it just as much. Enjoy and don't forget to leave comments UNEXPECTED Set-back: from where we last got off, Adi confronting Kasturi and Captain Abhishek Chauhan. Poor Kasturi… will it be the end of her *new proposal*? Or is Captain Chauhan understanding enough? Kasturi s' eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. 'my girl'?! She looked around to Abhishek ji; he looked extremely confused. "Excuse me?!" he asked shaking his head slightly. "I think you're talking to the wrong couple here." He motioned to Kasturi and himself, without letting Adi reply. Adi looked smug. 'I'm just getting started *Captain Chauhan*. Just wait and watch…' he thought to himself evilly. Adi turned to Kasturi and smirked. Judging by her expression she was extremely nervous. 'Oh well! It just gets better from here baby!'. He said to her silently.
Kasturi was breathing hard. She looked stricken. 'What on earth is he doing now?!!' she asked herself with anger and fear coursing through her. Things were taking a wrong turn. This was a bad idea. She should've never agreed to meet him here- at college. Tears stung her eyes; she bit her lower lip to stop herself from crying. 'What am I going to do? How will I explain all this to him?' she asked herself. Before she could open her mouth to explain or even utter a word, she heard a *very* familiar voice speak…
"AAAADIIIIIIII!!!" Chanted a girl. She had sung his name, as if a love-struck 'girlfriend' had just seen her 'prince-charming'. Hearing his name being chanted like that, he looked around to where it had come from… He almost fainted at the sight… It was Mukti dressed as her usual self, standing there beside them three in a very unusual pose. "What the… tum? Yaha?" Adi stammered. "OH comeon now darling! Don't act so disappointed. It's me! Mukti. I can't BELIEVE you still get Kasturi and myself so confused every time we stand together!!" Continued Mukti in the same love-sick tone. "I mean, darrrrling I know Kasturi is pretty and all… but she's no match to me!" She added. "Ooops! Sorry Kasturi, my darrrling! I mean no offence" said Mukti turning to Kasturi. Kasturi just stared at her with her eyes wide open. She didn't know what was going on or what had come over Mukti.
Adi felt his stomach drop. 'What the hell is going on?' he asked himself. His confusion was evident on his face as the next thing he heard from Mukti was "sweetie… what's wrong? Don't you like my surprise?!!" she asked him moving her hands up and down, as if to say 'the surprise is me'. Adi looked around to Kasturi; her face began to show signs of relief. 'Oh my God!' she thought to herself. 'Yeh sab mereliye?! Bechari Mukti. I can't thank her enough'. She looked up at Abhishek ji, his face was full of amusement. Seeing this, Kasturi became apprehensive once more. 'Oh poor Mukti! She's making a complete fool out of herself. It's totally understandable though. This battameez ladka will NEVER mind his own business' She thought bitterly.
Adi could feel himself firing up again. 'Saarah plan fail hora hain!! This is just ridiculous. Thanks to this… this…' he didn't have a word to describe this annoying girl standing beside the three. Adis' mouth opened into a snarl but before he could say anything Mukti had once again spoken. "Oh come on now hunnie! I'm sure you've forgotten to wear your contact lenses once again!! Awww trying to show off you're beautiful eyes…" She said softly fluttering her eyelids. Adi felt like he was going to throw up. He held up his hand to say something when Mukti just grabbed that hand of his and dragged him off saying "Comeon hunnie… we need to talk!".
Adi was gob smacked. No words would come out of his mouth. He was just taken back by *her* behaviour. Therefore he let himself be dragged.
Kasturi and Abhishek ji watched their backs disappear. He looked around to Kasturi "Errrrm, what a funny couple! Very amusing people you've got in this college." He said chortling. Kasturi managed a small smile. She didn't know how to react to the situation. Mukti had once again saved her neck. This was her fianc to be and all this had happened in such a small space of time… 'what if Adi comes up with another museebat that she just won't be able to get out of? Then surely Abhishek ji will hate me and doubt me for the rest of my life- after we get married…" she thought sadly. 'Before that happens I have to do something' she thought to herself.
"Anyways, um… shall we get some coffee? Or do you have classes in the morning?" asked the Captain from Kasturi. Revving out of her thoughts she looked up at him. "Huh? Oh! Ji Sir, I have a class starting in an hours time. But Sir, mujhe tum se… I mean aapse kuch…" started Kasturi, when she was interrupted by Captain Chauhan 'Please say 'tum' and yeh 'Sir' ki baat kaha se aaya hain? Abhishek would do fine!" he said.
Smiling, Kasturi continued "Ji teek hain. Mujhe tumseh kuch kehe na hain" she said. "Oh?! Errrm, ok then shall we go some place nearby, where we can sit and talk?" he asked her. She nodded in response and they both walked off. She turned back to see the whereabouts of Mukti but she was no where in site…
Set-Back: What on earth is going to happen to Mukti? Or should I say what on earth is going to happen to Adi? As Mukti dragged Adi away from the crowd they reached a partly isolated area, where she then stopped in her tracks. Adi wrenched his hand from Mukti s' grip. "What the HELL…" growled Adi when Mukti got the better of it. "KUTTE!! KAMEENE!! BEWAKOOF AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!! I JUST HATE YOU!!!" She yelled. Adi stepped back in shock. He hadn't been expecting this! 'Why am I always the one who's NEVER ready for *girl-tantrums*?' he asked himself sardonically.
"HOW DARE YOU GO UP TO KASTURI LIKE THAT?!!! YOU ALMOST RUINED THAT PROPOSAL" screamed Mukti raising a finger towards him. "YOU INSOLENT ARROGENT BIG HEAD" She yelled...
"Now WAIT JUST A MINUTE Missy…" started off a stunned Adi, who seemed to have found his voice after hearing those 'indecent' adjectives made at him
"CHUP!!! BILKUL CHUP!!" She screeched. "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ONE WORD FROM YOU'RE MOUTH!!!" She yelled. Adi raised both his eyebrows, 'Boy this woman has got SOME anger problem!' Thought Adi to himself bitterly.
"KASTURI KA PEECHA CHORDO!!!! WE BOTH HATE YOU!!! YOU'RE EXTREMELY DULL, ANNOYING, UGLY AND SUCH A LOOSER!!!" She yelled. Mukti was breathing really hard. She noticed that some people in the vicinity had gathered around herself and Adi to listen to all this commotion. But she *so* didn't care. "LISTEN MR! IT WAS MY MAJBOORI THAT I CAME TO YOU AND ACTED LIKE A *LOVE-SICK-TEENAGER* I HAD NO CHOICE" she continued resentfully. "BUT PURLEEEEASE DON'T LIVE WITH THE MISCONCEPTION THAT I LOVE YOU!!! IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN IN THE NEXT 7 LIFETIMES- LET ALONE THIS ONE!!!" she concluded and made to stomp off.
'Oh boy another one of these *love talks*!' thought Adi to himself indifferently. He saw her go off. 'Oh! time to act now' he thought...
"EI MISS GAWAR!!!" growled Adi. Mukti stopped in her tracks but did not turn to face him. "Boldiya?!" he asked as he walked around her to face her. Mukti crossed her arms and stared straight back at him. Her eyes narrowed but she didn't say anything. "Do you really think I'll actually SHUTUP and let you blabber on like that?!" he drawled. Anger was coursing through him like poison- he did his very best to not throttle her…
"I mean *giirrrll*… (he examined her up and down as if to say 'you a girl?' incredulously) You've got some serious problem…" He sneered. Mukti shot him a questioning look. "Yea! A serious problem!" he replied. "A problem of *butting-in-and-not-minding-your-own-business!*" He snarled. Mukti s' mouth dropped open in disgust.
"Ah ahaaa! Not one word Missy! It's *MY* turn" he sneered shaking his index finger at her. "And as for that Kasturi! I'll not back off till I see her crawl in shame! I'd watch her back if I were you!" Mukti gritted her teeth and shook her head slightly. "Oh! I almost forgot… you will not be spared either!" he sniggered.
Mukti realised at that point it was pointless to reason with stupidity… she just walked off shooting him a look of deep loathing.
Set-Back: Kasturi and Abhishek ji are at a caf having a much needed tea/coffee to sooth themselves down. Will Kasturi have the guts to tell everything to her now chosen jeevansaathi? They had both reached a beautiful little caf, which was a ten-minute walk away from her college. It had huge glass windows that allowed anyone who sat inside a view of the busy road outside. Kasturi chose a table for two right beside one of the windows.
As Abhishek ji sat down with his mug of coffee at the table Kasturi was still contemplating how to start her explanation, when she decided to take the plunge. "Abhishek ji woh ladka hain na?…" she started off timidly. Abhishek ji who had just taken his mug to his lips did not sip any coffee out of it, instead looked at her through the rim of his mug questioningly. "Ladka? Oh you mean that Vikram Aditya Mehra?" he asked. Kasturi nodded. "Ji well whatever you saw today wasn't meant to happen at all- infact it was all a set up!" she replied. Abhishek ji became concerned. He wanted to know what had happened and as Kasturi filled him in about the past days events it began to all make sense. "What an arrogant guy!" he said to Kasturi after she finished her story. "Gosh if I find him doing that again…" he added frowning. He sighed. There was no point. He was a college kid… young stupid and carefree. However, thinking calmly he decided to give his advice to Kasturi. "Listen, ignore him! Don't let him get to you. Atleast I know him now. I know he'll try to cause problems between us… but don't worry! Main hoon na! If he ever does anything to you again, tell me and I'll sort him out!" he said reaching out his hand placing it over hers. Her eyes widened. 'OMG he touched my hand' she thought to herself breathlessly. She felt a tingle go right through her. Kasturi looked up at him shyly and smiled. A pair of nice, kind, understanding and caring eyes stared back at her. 'Main kitne lucky hoon, to find someone as understanding as Abhishek ji.' She thought to herself. She looked down and realised that he had taken his hand away from hers…
"Dekho Kasturi, hamareh parents chaiyye ke hum dono shaadi kar le. But I don't want to force you into marriage or any commitment. I want you to agree to this shaadi from your own accord. Coz main jaantha hoon ke you want to continue with your education and become a lawyer. And believe me Kasturi, I will not stop you from doing that at all. In fact I'll support you…" started Abhishek ji. He looked serious. Kasturi smiled at him. She realised that she didn't need to hear anything from him anymore. She realised that from the moment she saw him *he was the one*. "Abhishek ji, main iss shaadi ke liye raazi hoon" she said softly. "What?! I'm sorry kya?" asked an astonished Captain. Kasturi nodded. "Haan ji! I'm willing to accept this proposal" she said shyly. Abhishek ji laughed with relief. "WOW! This is brilliant Kasturi. I'm so happy. I'll let our parents know of your decision as soon as I drop you off to college." He said happily. All Kasturi could do was smile. They continued to talk for a while and the more they talked the more Kasturi realised that she had made the correct decision.
Set-back:Back at college. Abhishek ji has dropped of Kasturi and now she's looking for Mukti to let her in on everything. 'Yeh Mukt bhi kahaan gayi hain! I've been looking for her everywhere and she's nowhere to be seen!' She thought to herself worriedly. Suddenly a thought occurred to her; 'Oh! Actually I haven't been to the library yet! Woh Yehi zaroor hongi!' and with that she walked off to the library. In the library she spotted Mukti sitting at the far end (as far away from the stern looking librarian as possible) with her head buried in a whole load of books. She made her way to the table and sat down opposite her. A disgruntled Mukti looked up from her books and when she saw whom it was her face lit up. "Aarey tuu!! How did it go?" she whispered excitedly. Kasturi giggled. The librarian looked up from what she was doing and glared at the two. "Oi! Stop giggling and tell me how it went!!!" hissed Mukti a little louder. Kasturi smiled. "I agreed to marry him!" she whispered back. "OH MY GOD YOU DID?!!" yelled Mukti in glee. Realising she had yelled so loud, she covered her mouth, but it was useless really because in no time the stern looking librarian was at their table ordering them to get out!. As they both ran out, they burst out laughing. Mukti hugged Kasturi in happiness. "OMG I'm so happy for you. Really am. I can't wait to start planning your wedding!" she exclaimed. Kasturi smiled. "Haan, Mukti he's a really nice gentleman. I told him about everything and without judging me he believed me and accepted what I said. Oh Mukti thank you so much for saving my neck!" She told her. "Phir se 'thank you'?!! How many times have I told you no *thank yous* or *sorrys* in friendship! Plus I sorted that good-for-nothing looser out right after we went out of site!" said Mukti giggling. Kasturi smiled once again at the thought. "Chalo!! We're getting late for class." she said dragging Mukti along. "OH yeaaaa!!!" replied Mukti.
Set-Back: After class. Mukti and Kasturi are having a little chat. Kasturi is getting a little nervous about her upcoming interview/selection process for her job. "So you're going to the job interview thing now right?" asked Mukti from Kasturi. "Hmm… yea!" she replied. "Hopefully it'll all go smooth hain na?" asked Kasturi. Mukti nodded. "Just be yourself Kasturi. If they don't accept you then it's their loss! Teek hain?!" reassured Mukti. Kasturi let out a deep breath. "It's ok if I go like this? I mean shall I change into something more causual?" She asked Mukti. Mukti studied her from top to bottom. "mmmm… Naaah I think you look fine. It's good to go in tradition." Said Mukti. "but you might want to fix up your hair" she added. Kasturi took out her brush from her bag and quickly brushed her hair as she walked and straightened her salwaar kameez. They both walked to the bus stop. The bus arrived no sooner had they gotten there. During the whole journey Kasturi remained quiet. Even Mukti let her be. She tried to remain focused. She kept running through what she could possibly be asked. Finally she reached her stop. They both got off the bus and followed the directions on the map they had drawn out. It led to a magnificent mansion. It was massive. Kasturi just stood there in awe. It was cream in colour. It had three stories, with the building moving back quite a bit. The front garden was enormous. It had neatly kept bushes around with flowers protruding from them. The driveway was quite a distance from the big gate that led into the mansion. Realising what she was here for, she snapped out of her awed state and went up to the security guard for instructions. After gathering the necessary information, she turned to Mukti who was still standing further away from her staring at the property ahead of her. Kasturi shook her head. "Mukti!! Chalo na! I have to go now- if not I'll be late and then there won't be any point!!" exclaimed Kasturi. Mukti gulped. "Sun, tuu jaa! I can't make it in. I'll faint yaar- seriously yaar! Go Kasturi. You'll be fine. Good luck and all the best!" said Mukti weakly looking at Kasturi. "Aarey Mukti kya hua? are you ok? I mean it's ok we'll find another job. Let's go and find a doctor!" said a concerned Kasturi. "Paagal hogaya hain kya?! Go Kasturi! I'll be fine." said Mukti impatiently.
"Teek hain. Wait here. I'll be back soon." Said Kasturi in a tiny voice and with that she walked through the massive gate towards the main entrance all the while thinking 'What chance do I have? Why did I even bother coming?'.
A nervous Kasturi reached the main door. It was as expected huge, well polished and well crafted out of wood. She rang the bell and no later than a few seconds the door opened. It was a butler dressed in black and white who had opened the door for her. "Yes" he asked as he let her in. But before Kasturi could answer her eyes were to drawn to the interior decoration of the mansion. It was beautiful. Kasturi had never seen anything like it in her whole life. The main entrance led into the massive lounge area, which had been taken up gorgeous Persian couches and rugs. The beautiful golden coffee table stood in the middle of the couch area. Large windows dressed in expensive drapes surrounded the lounge. A beautiful round staircase led up to the first floor, which again looked extravagant. Kasturi looked down to where she was standing. The floor tiles gleamed in the sunlight. They were so clean that she could see her reflection stare back at her. "Errrrm Miss?! Where are you lost there?" asked the butler. Kasturi jumped. "Huh?! Ji? Oh haan. Main yaha job interview ke liye aayi hain." Said a timid Kasturi. "Job interview?!" asked the confused butler. Kasturi gave a tiny nod. "Hmmm… I never knew there was a job interview taking place here." He said. "But all the more, do make your way to the first floor and take the first door to your right, Badi Madam will let you know what to do" said the Butler. Kasturi thanked the Butler and made her way to the room. Kasturi prayed that she got the job. She reached the first landing and stood in front of the first door. She decided to knock. She waited but no one came to answer the door. She knocked once again. But still no further answer came. 'Maybe they can't here me. What if I go in? Then I can at least let Badi Madam know that I did knock but she didn't answer.' She thought to herself.
She turned the knob and was surprised to see that the door wasn't locked. She opened the door and stepped in. As expected this room was magnificently built. The furnishing was all contemporary and neatly kept. It didn't look like a bedroom at all; instead it looked like an apartment within the house. There was a lounge area that led to the overhead balcony. There was very expensive looking entertainment system. There were pictures of this very good-looking young guy on the walls. Something wasn't right. Kasturi felt it. She just didn't know what. She heard a movement and faint giggle in the room that led in from the lounge. She saw that the door that led into that room was half open. She walked up to it… she pushed the door open… She saw a large bed in the middle of the room… there were two figures on it… Kasturi's let out a loud gasp… The next thing she heard was from one of them, it was a girl who screamed… "OMG ROBBIE WHO IS THAT?!!!"
