Roopa Ganguly who is still remembered as Draupadi of Mahabharat made a comeback to tv with Balaji's Karam Apna Apna after doing many Bengali films. Later she signed on Ekta's Kasturi to play a submissive housewife which was a total contrast to the modern woman in Ekta's Karam Apna Apna. And if the contrasts weren't enough, she is also seen in Anurag Basu's serial Love Story wherein she plays a mother, with an extremely powerful personality. Anurag says, "I wanted her for this role and was surprised when she agreed. She is a powerhouse performer and I am a huge fan, so it is a pleasure to work with her." Roopa is enjoying herself totally. "I am having a ball. With three different roles it's a challenge to perform everyday. I think I am closest to my character in Love Story with her cotton saris and frank attitude. In Karam... I have cropped hair while in Kasturi is a typical long plait. So with so many different looks, I too don't get bored." |
