Kasturi Lakhoon Jaisi Par Lakhon Mein Ek...
Kasturi means musk, a perfumed substance. Like the name of the show, Kasturi fragranted our lives for the past 2 years. This is an extremely emotional moment looking back at the show. The show made us laugh..it made us cry..it made us fume in anger..it made us blush.. Above all the show gave us the Kasturian family!!!
The original episode of Kasturi went on air on April 23, 2007!!!
Many of us were not waiting eagerly for the show. It was just 'another show' for most of us.
Yes ..it was just another show until one fine day while flicking through the channels, we happened to see a glimpse of the RoKa fight … until we happened to see a glimpse of the RoKa confession.. until we happened to see a glimpse of the RoKa magic…until we happened to see a glimpse of the RaKa moments… until we happened to see the depth of pain in Robbie's eyes… until we happened to see a glimpse of KC's revenge.. until we happened to see a glimpse of RoKa reunion… until we happened to see the nasty fouls being played on RoKa again and again… and many many untils..
After subtracting and dividing and multiplying then finally adding our loses and gains, what is left over is the fact that we all loved the show at one point or the other and still love it a lot!!!!
It would be amazing and truly emotional to go back to those days..
We may cry..we may laugh.. we may feel irritated.. we may feel sleepy… Whatever be the feelings, we'll go back..all of us together.. to those days..to those moments..to those seconds…. Not to regret or to lament, but to laminate the fun we have had together..
The entire show revolved around Kasturi, a young woman from the middleclass world of Chandini Chowk, New Delhi! After graduating with a first rank, she decides to work for the Sabharwals, for the cause of supporting her family. She kept it as a secret, as her family did not believe in sending woman for earning. But eventually they agree and Kasturi ends up as the Personal Secretary for The Robbie Sabharwal, famous Rockstar and heart beat of zillions of girls round the globe!
Define Rockstar Robbie Sabharwal in 3 words.. He is arrogant, spoilt and yet the Most Wanted Handsome among the girl's hit list.
Neither did Kasturi nor Robbie knew that they were going to be the legendary RoKa- ambassodars of pure love for the generations to come.
Devika appointed Kasturi as Robbie's PA with an intention to change her son three hundred and sixty degrees. She wanted to convert the spoilt celebrity into a mature business tycoon through Kasturi - a girl of values and Kasturi was promised to pay the bills of her dad's treatment.
Robbie and Kasturi took an instant disliking for each other. Though Robbie made life hell for Kasturi as his PA, Kasturi didn't gave up. She befriends Raunak Singhania – Robbie's best friend and business partner of 40% company share. Raunak understood Kasturi's point of view and helped her whenever Robbie made a mess.
Then one fine day Kasturi's family fixed her marriage with Girish which made Robbie Sabharwal understand that without listening to Kasturi's bhashans..without irritating Kasturi with his plans… without fighting with Kasturi.. his life is going to be something worser than hell. He found a huge vaccum in his life without Kasturi. FinallyRockstar Robbie Sabhrwal – the one who didn't believe in love realised that he is dangerously in love with Kasturi!
Eventually after so many drama, they both confess their feelings. It was the best confession scene ever shot in a camera. The RoKa magic casted on the viewers was such a strong one that every Kasturian felt that they could live years without oxygen, but not a second without ROKA!
Those cute and romantic days were so short lived!!! Devika's evil plans and a single lie from kasturi caused Robbie to believe that Kasturi had some affair with Raunak.Robbie humiliates Kasturi infront of the entire society and they split up.
Later Raunak proposes kasturi to save her from marrying a man of her grandpa's age. Kasturi accepts the proposal for the sake of her family. Robbie gets furious and he disrupts Kasturi's mehndi. This also makes Robbie believe that RaKa had been cheating him.
On the day of kasturi's marriage Robbie comes to know the truth from Divya, his siter. He apologize to Kasturi and begs her not to leave him. But she denies it telling that no relationship can last without faith and Robbie had no faith in her. Infront of Robbie, raunak put sindoor on Kasturi's maang, which shatter's Robbie.[That day was a never forgettable day for all RoKa fans. Karan, Jatin and Shubhangi proved that they beat Saath Phere in the TRPs with their effort]
The RaKa marrige leaves Robbie mad. He fights all fouls and fairs to get back Kasturi. She was his first and only love and he fought every means to get back his love. In the course to sabotage the RaKa relationship, many mishaps occurred and raka got closer day by day and Kasturi went away from Robbie. Kasturi accused Robbie for everything bad that happened in raunak's life after her marriage with him. She even cursed him many times. Robbie was actually mad at RaKa and tell me how many sinciere lovers can see their love with someone else? In the meantime, Shivani, another sister of robbie comes back home. Raunak and Shivani were in love and the day RaShi marriage was fixed, Shivani disappeared. Later a skeleton was identified as Shivani's and clues said that Raunak killed shivani. But kasturi proves that Shivani was not killed, infact she's alive in a mental asylum. She brings back Shivani to the SS mansion.
Finally, after seeing Robbie so desperate, raunak tells to robbie that he'll divorce kasturi. Raunak keeps himself away from Kasturi which make kasturi suspect Robbie. On raunak's birthday, Raunak gives divorce papers to Kasturi. She was shocked and was shattered. She shouts at Robbie that she wish he exists no more. [that was one eppy I cant forget as a Robbie fan. Even now, it bring tears in my eyes]
Robbie leaves from there but raunak stops him saying that now it is him ie, raunak who must live.
Meanwhile Tanu and Vikas, Kasturi's sister and raunak's brother gets engaged. Kasturi begs Raunak not to leave until the marriage is done to which he agrees. But things take an upside down turn when Raunak and Kasturi clears their misunderstanding and moreover takes their 'for name sake' married life to the next step. Robbie who was dreaming of a new life was torn apart. [I cant explain it more. My eyes are filled with tears. How he fell into the mud and searches for the ring that he got for kasturi in the mud was heart breaking for anyone with a heart]
On the day of ViTa marriage, Raunak falls from a cliff. It was an accident. Robbie tried more than his best to save raunak. He put his life in danger. But all they got was Raunak's dead body. It is Inspector Gaurav sharma who was incharge of the case finds the body.Kasturi was literally dead. It was when her married life was actually getting prosperous, she lost her husband.
After a few days of Raunak's death, Inspector Sharma approaches Kasturi and tells that Raunak was murdered. At the same time, Shivani tells kasturi that Robbie pushes raunak from the cliff. Circumstances made Kasturi believe that Robbie is a murderer.
As if to confirm her doubt Robbie proposed Kasturi on raunak's chauth.[we all made a hungama here on that day. Remember guys…RaKa fans yelling "how dare Robbie propose Kasturi days after Raunak's death?" and the ROKA fans yelling back "Robbie wants to support kasturi in that extremely harsh reality of her life.He he didn't prpose how'll he do that?"]
Kasuri totally believed that Robbie killed raunak. She promises to take revenge on Robbie and agrees to marry him for the same. [another dhamaka debate "Is it Robbie or kasturi disrespecting raunak's death?"
Raka fans said Robbie, for his bad time of proporsal and Roka fans said kasturi becos Robbie didn't mentioned about when to get married. It was kasturi who wanted to marry so soon. She disrespected raunak's death"]
Kasturi plots agianst Robbie with the help of Gaurav Sharma and gets succesfull. But Robbie loved kasturi so much that at times she felt strong guilty pangs rising up in her. She made life living hell for Robbie but Robbie made life a dream come true for her. He never let tears in her eyes. Even when she lied being pregnant and said that it was Raunak's kid, Robbie was ready to accept the kid as his own. Devika, who was aware of KC's plot, tried to expalin that to Robbie. But Robbie, who had once lost his love for not trusting her, didn't believe Devika. Even when Kasturi's family kicked her out to the streets, he stood for her. Even when Robbie knew that kasturi was cheating him, Robbie gave his life for her. He tried to save kasturi and ended upin the death bed. He went into coma and was put under ventilator for more than 1 year.
All these 1 year kasturi was in Banaras .Every month she used to send holy water from Ganga for Robbie. As a final aid, Robbie was given that holy waters and as a miracle he gets better. His parents decides to take him to an ashram in Banaras. Co-incidentally Kasturi was put to take care of Robbie and without knowing that it was Robbie, she takes care of him.
She goes to Malaysia for some business purpose of her uncle and there she meets none other than Raunak Singhania,Shivani Sabharwal and Gaurav Sharma. She was shell shocked to see Raunak, who was fully alive in a villan get up. [what a feast for all who wanted too smack KC for being blind towards Robbie's love]
Raunak smugly tells Kasturi how he has been toying with her all along and how he has been the sole cause of their misery. He explains that he had always secretly resented Robbie because he (Robbie) gained fame and popularity while Raunak hadn't. So when he realized that Robbie/Kasturi broke-up, he decided to get even by deliberately marrying Kasturi to hurt Robbie. Then he faked his own death to frame Robbie for murder. The person who helped him engineer this plot turns out to be Robbie's sister Shivani. She and Raunak have been in love since childhood and she loathes Robbie with equal passion. The two of them tell an apalled Kasturi that their next move is to kill Robbie to get their hands on his wealth.
Kasturi challenged Raunak that now it's the war between 'Pyaar aur Nafaratt.'Kasturi returns to India, but finds out that Robbie (who has now recovered) detests her for making him suffer for a crime he didn't commit. He insults her a lot and even act as if he had forgiven her. Yupp that was the most passionate scene ROKA had ever done COTTAGE no 2. [and it's a so very special scene to me coz before that particular eppy went on air, I dreamed about it.]
But Kasturi didn't gave up. She was the only one who knew that Raunak was alive and was after Robbie's property. Raunak employs Anitha into Robbie's life to kick Kasturi out of his life and get the track cleared for Raunak. But one event lead to another. It was this time that Yashoda maasi with Preeto and Billo enter the serial. Yashoda maasi was a saint and Devika's sister. Eventually RoKa reunite only to have raunak back in their life.
Raunak re enters the house as if he had lost his memory. Robbie was helpless as kasturi is Raunak's wife. Kasturi refused to be with Raunak and Raunak tortured kasturi on every second basis. She was the only one aware of raunak's real game and by any cost he wanted her out of the screen.
In a paralell story Brij enters the show. He was supposed to be Kasturi's original dad and until now nothing worth knowing is revealed about him.
After a lot of drama, Maasi was revealed to be in terms with Raunak and infact the head of 'team Destroy Robbie.' At one pont Kasturi was shot and she falls of a cliff. Maasi tactfully put the blame on Robbie and until one day Ksturi was found in an ashram, everyone believed that Kasturi was murdered by Robbie.
The Kasturi who fell from the cliff lost her mental balance.She behaves like a child and can't remember anything about her past. Robbie lets her stay in his house. Shortly after that, Raunak's true colours are exposed to everyone and he's sent to prison. However, everyone is still unaware of the fact that Maasi was in cahoots with him.
During this track, Nikhil-Pooja realtion was revealed to Allana.
Another charcheter Kiran enters the show.[ it was time when rumors were in the air that shubangi was leaving and the new entry Riddi was a substitute as paralell lead] kiran who was a positive character turns negative, when her true identity was revealed. She was Maasi's triumph card against RoKa. Kiran under maasi's order tries to kill Robbie after making him sign on blank papers. But kasturi spoilt the plan and Kiran stab Kasturi. Kiran died but kasturi got back normal.
Once again RoKa reunite.
During the preparations for Robbie and Kasturi's wedding, a middle-aged businessman named Kabir Dhanrajgir is introduced to the story. Kasturi finds out that a significant portion of Robbie's property has been sold, and that Kabir acted as a catalyst to it. When she begs him to fix the situation, he blackmails her by saying that she would have to marry him for that. On the day of her wedding, she leaves Robbie and marries Kabir.[guys..sorry but I know your BP is very very very much high above the danger zone]
Robbie resorts to drinking and sleeping around to keep his mind off Kasturi. I need not mention that he was not at all succesful. On the other hand, spending time with Kabir makes Kasturi realize that he is a kind-hearted man [MY FOOT]who doesn't share a good rapport with his two grown up children, who term him as a failed parent. Kabir also have another kid Sargam, a sweety pie of 5 years of age. She and robbie become friends and its only after a very long time that Robbie comes to know that the woman Guddie used to mention as "Gundhi Ladki"was none other than kasturi. [we saw some quality time and worth watching scenes while RoSa ruled the screen].
Kabir's other daughter Teejay was acting as a surrogate mom for Allana. When kasturi comes to know of this, she bashes Nikhil and this makes Aki and teejay call kasturi as "mom".[guys I felt like slapping both of them. How can they call a girl of their age as mom]
Paralelly robbie gets to know that Maasi was the master mind who destroyed him. Maasi suicides. Also Kabir's true colors were revealed that Kabir is not a good person and has killed his 3 wives. Knowing this Robbie tries to get kasturi out of this mess by telling about kabir but kabir blackmails robbie that he will kill kasturi's parents.kabir dies by falling from a cliff. Kasturi comes to know about him after the death of Kabir.
Robbie again wants to marry Kasturi but Devika scolds Kasturi for spoiling the life of robbie.She threatens kasturi that she9Devika0 will kill herself if kasturi's shadow comes infront of Robbie. So she (KC) leaves the house(kabir's house) without telling anybody and goes to live with her friend sanchi in mumbai.
Robbie goes to meet kasturi and he finds out that she went away he goes back to his mom and tells her that he hates her for sepatering him and kasturi.
She joins in a office of singhania family. There she meets 3 brothers Abhimanyu, Ajink and Adwit and as she meets them she solves their problems.
Robbie is very sad thinking about Kasturi when Purushottam comes and tell him to go to Mumbai for a change from the present atmosphere.
The Singhania group wants do an event and they want Robbbie to start the event, Kasturi is there too she just gets lost in the memory of her and Robbie's at one point and time love... When abhi calls Robbie he says that he has stoped singing. Abhi tells this to Kasturi. Kasturi is thinks about Robbie and Robbie is thinks about Kasturi.
One thing to the other make kasturi a pet of the Singhania parivaar. In the mean time Robbie's sub conscious mind kept on telling him that Kasturi was at the Singhaniya's. Some of the incidents pointed at that fact. He came to the office searching for KC but donot find her.
Later Abhi meets with and accident and eventually it is revealed that Abhi is not one of the singhaniya parivaar but his dad is Ujjwal Chopra.
Knowing this, Ajink cuts his vein and gets hospitalised. Robbie reaches that hospital to meet a doctor and Roka almost met there. But missed by picometres. Anyways Robbie and abhi got introduced to each other. Kasturi joins Ujjwal Chopra and assists Rajiv. Ujjwal Chopras nephew and neice Siddarth and sonakshi enters the show. Sid is a decent guy but sonu instantly dislike KC.
In between, Abhi and Robbie became friends and Abhi realised that he loves KC. Gayatri and Mona maasi too wanted KC as the badi bahu of the family. Abhi shares about this special person to Robbie.
Then one fine morning Sonu's bday arrives and she makes kC incharge of the party.She invites Robbie to the party and in the party RoKa meet.But kasturi goes away from there.
Gayatri proceed with the marriage and asks kasturi's opinion. Robbie and kasturi were introduced to each other by Abhi. Robbie reaches Kasturi's home and asks her that why did she lest him?. She says that devika was the reason. But Robbie says that 'Why Kasturi? Mom nei jo keh diya tumnei who mann hi liya. Kya tumhei mere payaar par itni hi bharosa nahi thei?' and he goes from there saying that he'll never ever see her face again in his life. Kasturi was broken.
Next day she reaches Abhi's home. Everyone thinks that she agreed for the marriage. Seeing everyone so happy, Kasturi goes away from their without telling anything.
Robbie reaches the place where Kasturi lives and finds that she was not there.
And my prediction for the future:
The cho-nghaniya affair will be dealt with. [becos I saw sonu and sid in the SBS segment]
Kasturi will agree for the Ka-bhi marriage [ofcourse we know that]
On the day of marriage Abhi will realize that RoKa are the most sizzling love birds and we don't want to see Ka-Bhi.[again we know that]
Abhi will get RoKa married for ever…………………..
And then….
They'll live happily forever and ever.
