Hi Cassi,

Sorry for the delayed response! Different time zones.

Regarding the first version of Komo, the actor had a more commanding screen presence than the current one. And the CVs took advantage of that and introduced her character with a huge fanfare almost drowning out the real story. We had 2 episodes where Komo was shown for at least half the episode, just walking around, swaying her hips and men stupidly falling all over her! 😕

She came with a big family and a background and was domineering in the beginning with great swathes of dialogue that made one deaf! She was like a mini-series of her own. A show within a show.

And the actor Hina Khan chose to add humor to the delivery of her character. In my opinion, it didn't help but made Komo a caricature of herself.

The current actor essaying Komo, while displaying all the psychotic tendencies of Komo, is still constrained in her delivery, and she does not distract from the real story - the almost love story of AnuPre.

The show is really good now! Hope the focus stays on AnuPre

My opinion for what it's worth!!!

Episodes are likeable because of better Prerna's makeup and dessing style? Would have loves if CVs were praised more for story. Prerna's character is reflective of her sense of dress and style. I believe that is intended.

Anurag-Prerna look strong because Sonalika is not shown as commanding (overpowering) as Komolika played by previous actress? So the only way to show leads as leads is to show others as supporting caste only, because otherwise it is easy to overshadow them and their position as leads is threathened.

i would also like to disagree with you. Aamna/ Komo/ Sona (lol) by no means has been sidestepped to make Prerna and Anurag seem stronger. We see Sona everywhere, Aamna has a definite grip on her character like we haven’t seen from either Bajaj or Hina!Komo. You may disagree as you please but one of the biggest problems with Bajaj was that he was barely fleshed out before he became integral to the story. The writers took so long to bring his backstory into light that they lost control of the character. It was rather comical that he was promising this and that about himself but at the end he turned out to be a murderer just like Komolika. Difference is we didn’t expect any difference from Komolika so her character sketch became easier for the audience to digest. If Bajajs backstory was revealed sooner then we might have a different storyline altogether right now.

Hey, thanks for your comments and I assure you I have no issues if you are in a disagreement with my views.

However, I would like to clarify I nowhere said Sonalika is being side stepped and you are absolutely right that she is getting a good screen space. Possibly because she is the only factor as of now who could push things further as everything is just stagnant as of now. However, if you read the original post its mentioned that Sonalika is now been shown as supporting caste, so that's what was I responded to as it had me a bit confused honestly. Therefore, your disagreement should be more for orginal post then mine.

Also I nowhere mentioned about Bajaj anywhere in my post so I am not sure why his discussion has come into the picture while quoting my post. I was simply talking about the current characters and story that too completely based on my interpretation of the original post. You reserve your rights to have your own views on every character and I am not here to challenge your views. But Bajaj is honestly not relevant to this topic and every discussion should not be forcibly pushed into his direction. For a change we should be able to discuss topic without dragging Bajaj into the picture.

I simply asked 2 questions that too based on the original post- if better make up makes up of better story line? 2nd if leads only look like leads if third character is shown as supporting caste (as mentioned in original post)?

Therefore, I really feel in Bajaj/Komolika(Hina) are not relevant to this discussion honestly as it is completely out of context to the TM and what I posted.

In the end I agree with your views in Bold. CVs did ruin by delaying stuff and showing a highly confused Prerna who couldn't decide what she wants and kept changing sides frequently.

Hi Pinot!

I had no idea about time difference and I appreciate your time for this post.

This post makes things a lot more clear for me and I want to agree that Sonalika is definitely doing quite a good job! She looks pretty on screen and today we even got to sew her psycho (if I may use this term) side while putting sindoor all over. She is not looking strong just because of her style, but more with her act and portaryal of the character. Dressing style does add to her performance, no denying from the fact.

I personally would have loved if Prerna reflected her character more with her actions and act than dressing style. I would love to see her get her act together soon with her style. But that's our individual POV.

Nice to have this little chat with you!

I am slightly confused here..i didnt like hina at all n the way she played komo...totally clownish after showing herself as deadly as a nuclear bomb...but but but I dont know why people say that she took away the limelight.. what did she contribute to kzk ..seriously ! Why was hina khan so overhyped ? I agree her track got trps but that time the story telling made sense ..unlike the last 5 months...

Aamna although she is a better actress has zero connect to the old komo and anurag..she keeps repeating anurags name but doesnt act like his wife instead she acts like a psycho villain...I mean they made her into one....from whatever little I have seen ,she and parth r totally mismatched...but that's another issue..which is irrelevant..this is one sorry serial where stupid vamps b villains also fail along with the leads..who the hell is winning 🤣 I see no purpose of showing sona /komo here..vellapanti kahin aur reh ke karti rehti..in short komo has been degraded too..

Even I was confused when I read the original post and could only ask questions for clarification. Yout post slightly is making it clear for me as to why Sonalika is preffered over Komolika probably because she is completely detached with leads. She is living in her own zone and occassionally does things that backfire and gives a slight push to whatever remains of story exists. She is a threat to noone.. shayad islie she appears like a supporting caste and not as third angle to the story. This keeps Anurag-Prerna in a safe zone I guess.

you said characters behaving in a certain way doesn’t say much about the story.. and I gave you examples of how that would be not true based on how Bajaj and Komolikas character were treated and hence how the story unfolded accordingly. If Bajajs character was fleshed out better it would have certainly had a big impact on the story. The characters make up the story. I’m simply commenting on what happened.. not bashing him or dragging him without any purpose. I used Bajaj to make a point about what we were speaking about.

You chose not to speak about Anurag and that’s fine.. you didn’t speak about Prerna either.. so it was hard to gauge what you were actually trying to say. And this is a forum where people discuss shows and characters so as long as you are respectful, I think it would be easier to understand your point if you actually wrote about what you think about them currently.

If Bajajs character was fleshed out better it would have certainly had a big impact on the story. Agree with you here as well. In the beginning CVs did try to create a sense of story specially with past connection with Basus. Unfortunately, CVs weren't brave enough to go forward with their own idea and messed up everything in an effort to please Fandoms. So it won't be wrong to say that viewers also have a great contribution in bringing the show to a state where it is.

The characters make up the story. Characters mostly form a part of the story. For example- a character might be romantic. But showing him romancing all the time in different situation doesn't make for a story. How long will one enjoy. Another character might be super kind and doesn't mind suffering while helping others. How long will one like it, there has to be a point this person has to act out of his/her character to add another dimension. Now that Bajaj is already mentioned let me take his and Anurag's example. They were shown to get into these word fights. Initially it looked interesting and was fun. After a while when CVs just got stuck with these verbal fights and did not take anything forward. At that stage it wasn't impactful because it served no purpose (story was at backfoot) and we were just watchin characters behaviour with no story to justify

I’m simply commenting on what happened.. not bashing him or dragging him without any purpose. I used Bajaj to make a point about what we were speaking about. I did not say you were bashing any character; I have seen each and every character been bashed and I now know for sure everything you said wasn't bashing in any way, all I said that such a mention was irrelavant to the topic. Even though polyester pyjama was a part of original post but I did not Bajaj's was anywhere needed to discuss this particular thread.

You chose not to speak about Anurag and that’s fine.. you didn’t speak about Prerna either.. yes, I deliberately did not because I was commenting on points which have me confused and I asked questions to clarify. 1. If better makeup and styling means better story? 2. Sonalika shown as supporting caste (as mentioned in original post) makes leads look like leads? Pinot was kind enough to reply to my post later.

so it was hard to gauge what you were actually trying to say. Even I was trying my best to understand what TM was trying to convey that's why asked questions to clarify. Asking questions looks like a better option to me than misinterpretations and assumptions.

And this is a forum where people discuss shows and characters so as long as you are respectful, I think it would be easier to understand your point if you actually wrote about what you think about them currently. I did write. I had a confusion interpreting and I asked questions. I am happy that I asked for clarification and not just write anything based on my interpretations and assumptions.
