What's with Komolika's dialogues?

This is to the CVs if you are reading this :

The dialogues given off-late to komolika are really demeaning, it might come across as fun to some, but tbh, I find it offensive.

Examples are - Mohini should get Botox done, Mohini ate rasogullas and became fat , so she needs to hit the gym. I find these quite insulting. The last time i found something very offensive was when Prerna came back to Basu house claiming her rights as Anurag's wife and komolika said, you look ugly, I wish you loose your hands and legs - something along those lines.

There is a clear line of difference as to what can be a troll and what cannot be. To say an example, there were dialogues during bajajs track trolling both Bajaj and Anurag's fans - that was not offensive.

Komolika's dialogues needs that evilness, and plotting, not the filthy dialogues of oh so modern vamp. Hope this is taken care.

I found the Rasgulla jaisi and Botox dialogue quite insulting to the actress.I get that Komolika is supposed to be mean but such dialogues encourage body shaming which is already a problem in the Indian subcontinent. But on the other hand I also feel it is natural for komolika to think and speak that way because that is how she is supposed to be. 😕

Yeah DG, she is to be mean and all that, like she called Basu's as fools for believing her video, she trolled Anurag for lifting Prerna , but the dialogues you mentioned , i found them kinda insulting. They better not talk about her appearances. She can instead talk about Mohini, her status , her kitty parties and stuff, that's okay 🤔

Agree. It was insulting especially to Shubhavi, who in many of her interviews and segments had mentioned about how she was struggling with her weight . I shouldn't have talked about realism in kzk. The writers gave those lines to the character not for adding any realism but only for providing "comic" relief to the viewers. Now that is problematic. I think it a problem in our society itself. Comments on a person's weight , height, general appearance are passed off as jokes....people laugh at it. The whole team used to call Akansha ,the Zero on the set because of her height. It was said innocently...none of them were mean to her...the team laughed...Akaansha laughed... but that was body shaming. Erica was called a tooth prick on KKK....There are many such examples

Body shaming and age shaming have been so normalized that most people do not realise that they might have said something hurtful to someone.

I agree with you ifm and DG the dialogue writers really need to take care of such things while they're writing the dialogues. They can surely give better one liners to her to show her evil character. I hope they don't continue with such dialogues repeatedly.

Agreed. Ain’t cool to say shit on people’s appearances. That’s not funny, witty or smart.

I wish actresses do say something when it crosses the boundaries into body shaming, cuz everyone is beautiful in their own way.

ITV is so odd. You can swear in Hindi, body shame people, what are the rules you can’t cross then?

I haven't watched it but it's SICK if she has said it but then, this show, time and again has shown sick stuff. Can't expect them to improve because I know they won't. What people in their sane state of mind write such stuff in the first place? That's not funny in any way! 🤢

It comes across a desperate attempt to portray how mean is Komo. And though it suits the characters, writers shud be careful that anyone of these dialogues may cross the line from reel to real. Its pathetic to encourage body shaming and mock people like this.

Completely agree with you but I think as we are growing we are becoming very sensitive and very easily offended. there will always be people who bully you, some directly and some really clever ones will be politically correct and indirectly hurt you. We must make ourselves less sensitive and mentally stronger.
