First of all, thank you for opening this post. This character is fictional and hence we do tend to put ourselves in her shoes often. So, I will write something expressing my displeasure as well as circumstantial scenarios about how her approach could have been different

1. Gender Equality - I am a STRONG feminist but above all a strong supporter of an egalitarian society. Men and women both get educated, both earn, both get married, both share kitchen and office responsibilities. I won’t be kneading Atta in the middle of the night to feed this man child of a boyfriend or tag along Bajaj finding his kurta. Girl, get a life. Even if no Bajaj komolika dah dah dah blah blah blah. Who are you? What are you? What is the meaning of your existence apart from selling yourself. Have you even got the brains to financially contribute To anyone? You have earned nothing. Your body has been given by parents and your sanskaar so called is given by them. What is your f***ing identity? Anurag ki Soulmate ya Bajaj ki Biwi. Who are you? Career tumhara hai nahi, paise tumhare paas hai nahi, Buddhi is practically zero, who are you? I have always supported her because I have seen such naïveté women in love but Woman padhai kar lo at least?

2. Control of your Body- I have a HUGE problem with this extraordinary morality associated with women and their pre marital chastity. Okay, fine, I agree that middle class people in India still expect the holier than thou maiden but Prerna-sex happens. I have a problem with people who believe women can get intimate only with true love. No, doesn’t happen. Sex happens and half of the Indian marriages are sexual unions without any effing love. So, Prerna sex happened and you got pregnant. Can happen to anyone but you are 22 and trust me no matter how BOLD you are as a woman, an unwanted pregnancy with no ata pata of the father is the last thing that evokes ‘ MOTHERLY instincts’ . So, the WISE choice is to get the fetid ABORTED. Yes, as a woman, you should have the FULL right to decide what happens with your body.

3. You could keep loving Anurag as much as you can but woman, make up your mind. If you want to immerse yourself in love, go for it. Manipulate and wrap Bajaj around your fingers and play with him as much as you want. No one is a saint in this world.

In short, if I were Prerna, I would be sassy in the REAL sense of the word. Would wear Bajaj’s Diamonds, shop and make him poorer day by day and yes, I would know blowing on someone’s neck is an extremely sexual and provocative gesture. I would understand the look of Bajaj. Play him around and be SASSY by calling all the shots with the man who SNATCHED my last shot at true love and make him my slave! Make him worship me and go mad in my love.
Not because Bajaj is Hot but because, I know SURVIVAL of the fittest. What better punishment than manipulating the master manipulator? Soulmates ka Lara lappa is not serving any purpose. This moping and timidity will not help anyone!!!
