Prerna wanted to stay bcoz she has started with the Durga Maa pooja and the rituals so it wouldn't be right to leave it in between. Anyone who welcomes Mata Rani at home during Navratri would leave after the entire pooja is over and Visarjan is completed properly. So I think that's what she meant here.

This is my pov as even I follow the same if I plan to fast for entire Navratri and worship Devi Maa for entire 9 days. We can't leave it in between. This is important for everyone who strictly decides to worship Maa during Navratri.
