Days for rituals varies even for Hindus too, for some it's 11 days, for some 9 days. In our house its only 7 days and my cousin had to go to office on 5th day itself because he was assigned with major project and companies needs him. So even though he didn't want he had to go to work just 5 days after his dad's death's.
