The meaty role, the heavy dilaogue delivery is always Anurag's. One thing that disappointed me the most was the scene when Shivani was in hospital and Prerna tries calming her down. But as usual it is Anurag who succeeds in actually doing it. It is ALWAYS Anurag. Every single thing. It frustrates me. Everytime I think this is Prerna's scene, the whole dialogues and responsibility of making things smooth is always given to Anurag. Now that can't be the actor's fault right. I feel like the only reason why Prerna is there in the serial is to be Anurag's love interest. Someone he can always SAVE. Why can't Prerna save herself!? Why is it always ANURAG. Okay. Macho hero is fine. Okay the female lead can't save herself from goons. Understandable. But it's her sister that's in hospital. She is knows Shivani since her birth. But it is Anurag who manages to convince her. Why!? As Erica's fan this show is so depressing to watch. She is hardly given anything to do. Pure disappointment. I just don't get the favouritism. Why rope in such a good actress with such good fan following if you want to show bias?

ALL OF THIS👏! Erica is absolutely phenomenal as Sonakshi Bose and TBH the only reason I stuck with that show was because of her and Supriya Pilgaonkar and the way (because I really really dislike Shaheer) and when she was announced as Prerna I was happy because she would've had it in the bag. Sonakshi really was such a subtle and brilliantly written character and Erica did her full justice. But being her fan this show has been disappointing because where Sonakshi was supported by the script/direction, all the action and meaningful scenes go to Anurag.

But this is a trend I've been seeing in many new desi shows lately. Kekta's own shows like Naagin 3, Mahir is a very well developed character compared to Bela. The same thing in Kundali Bhagya, Preeta is nothing more than a glorified prop whereas Karan does most of the work and he gets the sympathy from the audience as well. In Bepannah (I'm personally not complaining about this one because I LOVE Harshad Chopda more than anything😛) but Aditya had the narrative advantage whereas Zoya was stuck with superficial nonsense in which her character was not as loveable as his. In all of these shows, the only thing that makes the female lead likable is the fact that the male lead likes them. That's what makes them special and I find it very weird because Kekta herself wrote such brilliant female leads back in the day.

I don't like this compromise that in order to glorify the male lead they have to completely undermine the female lead. Preeta, Prerna, Bela and Zoya are all played by brilliant actresses and it's absoultely sad to see their talent not being recognized whereas the males get all the credit due to the character being written better than theirs. If that's the case... I don't know how long I can be invested with this show. I come here only for ERICA. And I am glad she has been able to strike good chemistry with Parth. If she isn't given stuff to done. I can't watch anymore.

I used to watch KRPKAB also just for her! Mannn! She is gorgeous. And Sonakshi is such a beautiful strong independent woman.

^Sonakshi was effing BRILLIANT! such a kickass character, one of the best female leads on television honestly. If Prerna was even half as well written as Sona was this show would've been 10 times better.

Iam sorry i don't agree at all with everything that is said. She is a good actor, has great screen presence and personality for me! Her acting is so subtle that she becomes the character rather than acting that is feels so natural. I suggest u to give it a one more try. U might slowly like her.

No she is aptly rated. Hina is the overrated one in terms of stardom, beauty and acting!😆

Im glad this topic was made. Coz I felt the same. Im yet to go through this entire thread: But here are my few cents:

On Erica as Prerna- There is honestly no connect I have for Prerna in this new season. Not comparing, but stating that Prerna in season 1 was a far better written and acted character. This seasons writing is all over the place. And terrible direction too.

INSIPID is the word that comes to mind when I think of this seasons acting, direction and chemistry. Their is no relatability, no genuineness, no effort. Everything is about the grand Basu house sets. There is little thought put anywhere else.

I think Erica was far better in her previous show where the character was understated and not over the top. She didn't have to scream/ shout/ shriek every second episode (here she had to in most of the Naveen kidnapping episodes and all the times Anurag has been injured). Her weak dialogue delivery REALLY COMES ACROSS in these moments and the emotion she is supposed to convey goes for a toss because the focus is on the lack of clarity of what she is saying.

Even in the confession episode- I found her really lacking. I have seen FAR BETTER confession episodes on ITV. Considering they have a decently looking pair- I would have expected much BETTER but alas. These characters just did not sell it to me. Even the director on the sets and the writer seem to be pretty lacking in effort. Im sure with better lines and direction, these characters could have delivered far better.

This being said, I don't think Parths acting is eons better either. You have to see the confession episode from his previous show to understand what I am talking about. Again, that character was far MORE better written and better directed. You felt each and every word of the characters journey. Here, not so much. The confession was so Ghisa Pita IMO. Parth has done far better work as Manik.

All in all, this show- I had decent hopes from it but it has really disappointed me as a viewer. I haven't watched all the episodes but the one I watched- have left me with- WHY AM I WATCHING THIS?

PS: A good example of how terrible the writing/ direction is the recent rain romance in the show. This was their first ' romantic' moment post declaration of love and OH MY GOD was it Pheeka or was it Pheeka!? There was no continuity, terrible editing, the dancing was SO Random, and the characters were not being themselves. Usually moments like these are the high points of a show- here it was another random moment to be quickly forgotten.

i think at first glance it seems it is just about the sets and costumes, even i felt that. What i want to say is watching here and there gives such expression. But iam liking the story as iam watching every scene but yes, the direction is not proper and so fast paced and rushed. They rushed the confession scene, and it is not ably done in terms of direction. I like both AnuPre's.

Pallavi ji I appreciate ur guts and honesty to say whatever u feel. Of course u have ur own view. And members asking to stop watching the show if u dont like Erica shld understand that ppl watch the show for many reason. There r fans of parth hina too. The show is abt them also. And a member has full right to express his or her views if they are disappointed with the acting, be it the leads.
P. S - On topic though, I find her stri ictly OK. She is good in romantic/nok jhok scenes. But emotional /dramatic scenes she needs to improve a lot.
