It's really an extension of what he told prerna during the atta scene. It doesn't matter to him that she is different from him. Not anymore. He likes her (then) and loves her (now) just the way she is.

Unless the writers change the character of anurag into something else I can't see him falling for who Komolika is. I suspect the only way she could be get the guy he is now is through blackmail.

If we go by ekta's storytelling, first he'll have a one-night-stand-with- Komolika while he's drunk, after that...

Of all the odd things we can think about, this one thing has never crossed my mind and I am very sure that this won't happen at any cost. There may be Anu Komo marriage (God forbid) but no way Anurag is going to fall for Komolika.
In Ekta's serials if a hero does fall for a villain it's usually because that woman was not a villain when he first fell for her; i.e it is usually later that the character turns out to be villain.

If they show Anu falling for Kom, then they should bring Bajaj sooner and start a new love story.. Pre needs a man with a spine and not a jumping cat
