Prerna reminds me of the saying "if you don't take decisions of your life somebody else will"
the makers have made her so passive that every other person has started taking control of her life...even the always calm anurag has started pressurising her to fall in line with his opinion.

anurag needs to back off and give her some space and prerna needs to take control of her life ..even if its wrong or right it should be her decision and no one else's not even anurag

i don't know the lines like "mandap se uta ke le jaunga' makes me uncomfortable...what abt her consent?

I don't get why people are calling prerna passive and saying she is not taking control of her life. Yes we as viewers are able to see an element of Naveen that she is not. But she is not at all passive - unlike her brother she (a college student) is taking control of the situation and trying to solve it in the only way she can. She is telling Anurag to let her be because he is not aware of the responsibilities that she faces. He lives a gilded life and while he can concentrate on whether Naveen is nice or not, she has decided to marry Naveen even though she is aware that he is not nice because he will help her solve her lives problems.

To be honest the more people defend Anurag the more he seems like a spoilt child not getting his way. Stamping his feet and saying do what I want, do what I want!
Right now Prerna does have time or leeway to focus on feelings or romance. Anurag may not like what she is doing, we may not either. But no one can accuse prerna of being passive.

i might not be the right person to debate on this cos frankly i have not followed the show religiously so far to be a better judge of her character..this is based on the few episodes i have seen till now

@bold: in this day and age if you show an educated and independent girl agreeing to marry a pervert at who's mere touch she gets repelled... for money without any external pressure of her parents or family..i don;t know what else should we call her?..the fact that she let things to aggravate to such a situation doesn't make her look anything more than passive..also her flip-flop regarding naveen sometimes she thinks he is good and sometimes bad..is just(:

anurag is defended inspite of his manhandling ways cos the makers have made prerna look stupid and indecisive..there is no consistency in what she thinks...and her confusion and helplessness is shown only to bring abt the romance between the leads and not to strengthen her character..inspite of whatever you think anurag is doing wrong..the makers will eventually show prerna falling for this same characteristics of anuraag and thats how such behaviour will gain acceptance...this is what happens in all itv shows..its not something new

me personally don't like such scenes but majority does...and by making prerna more and more helpless the makers will create the imbalance and gain trps

Nice post.
I would give benefit of doubt to Anu too
Just like Pre, he too is confused, conflicted, helpless, agitated and baffled.

Both actors r doing an amazing job

I am I the only one who is unable to connect with Prerana?
Prerana agreed to marry Naveen but unable to bear his touch and she doesn't like to dance with him. (Has she ever thought about how she can survive with Naveen babu in london after marriage?) If she is really not interested in marrying Naveen babu and unable find the way to repay the loan why should not she find some other way to cancel the marriage? Why she is not sharing her situation with any one of the family members or Anurag? I think now she has enough time discuss about her problems
Anurag tried to proove Naveen Babu is a wrong person. Why she is not even single percent suspicious about Naveen Babu? Anurag showed close photos of her would-be husband with a girl at the time of engagement and she didn't trust her childhood friend Anurag but trusted Naveen.

Even her family members are not taking any steps to know the details about Naveen Babu (like whether he is really working in London? Why he divorced his wives? Why he is interested in Prerna at the first sight itself?)

Fair comments. I guess there are only four reasons/comments I would come up with:

- she is trying to get out of the marriage by getting a loan;

- Anurag is actually not her childhood friend. Thanks to mohini's snibbery she and Anurag have remained mere acquitances until recently and never been been to each other house. Anurag spoke to her younger sister for the first time in his life two days ago!

- in serial land parents take a back seat when it comes to their kids marriages?

- Ekta Kapoor and her writers wants to driver us bonkers!
