Anurag knelt down "Komolika can you hear me, someone call an ambulance now" he ordered, raising his head he glared at Prerna who still stood frozen in her place at the top of the stairs
Komolika opened her eyes "Urgh, my back, Anu she pushed me down the stairs I was only trying to apologise" pouting she blinked fast, hand wrapped around his collar
Ignoring her words he lifted her into his arms and handed her to the man beside him "Get her some water and drop her home once she's been checked over" turning his head he huffed "Miss Sharma, my office now" he walked briskly to his office door, holding it open for her he walked behind his desk
Raising her hands she stepped back "Look before you start, that Cruella De Vil didn't even apologise to me, not that I would have forgiven her but anyway beyond the point, I didn't throw her down the stairs she actually threw herself, now I know how it looks but I am innocent and anyway i'm not suited for a prison, imagine a girl like me having to use the toilet infront of everyone" shuddering she shook her head "I didn't do it Basu and I really need you to believe me now more than ever, I know i'm crazy, you know i'm crazy but that bit-" seeing the look on his face she bit her tounge "That woman is crazier than me" falling back into the chair Prerna blushed "Well aren't you going to say anything, it's like talking to a brick wall, hellooo" she waved her hand
"If you would have let me speak then I would have spoken, don't you ever get out of breath"?
"Yeah actually when I climb those stairs" crossing her arms she looked down slightly put off by the fact he hadn't yet said if he believed her or not, she wasn't quite sure why his opinion mattered so much to her but it did.
"I know you didn't push her down the stairs, please stay away from her because she will continue to try and get you in trouble and there will come a time where I can't ensure you don't get hurt, I know you enjoy not listening to me but just this once please pay attention" sitting down he opened his laptop "Now go, haven't you got work to do"
"You believe me" she coughed to hide the softness in her tone "Thank you, you might be the world's best boss, I said might, the jury's still out on that one" standing up Prerna picked up the file on the floor "Did you drop this on the floor just to watch me bend over"? Hopping onto the desk she smiled "You did didn't you"?
"Out" Anurag pointed to the door "And please I don't need anymore Prerna based nightmares"
"So you dream of me, I knew it, who wouldn't" she shrugged "It's okay I won't tell anyone" jumping down she winked "See ya tomorrow Basu, don't stay too late, go out and live your life, tomorrow isn't promised to any of us"
A ghost of a smile remained with him while he worked, Prerna Sharma was the strangest person he had ever met but he had never smiled as much in his whole life as he had in the short time he had known her

Prerna pulled her hair into a ponytail, tucked her cream shirt into her grey trousers and pulled off her purple blazer "Honey i'm homeee" looking around at the empty office she giggled "God i'm great, why is no one ever around to see that" sitting at her desk she turned the radio on and nodded her head "Give it to me i'm worth it, baby i'm worth it uh huh i'm worth it, gimme gimme i'm worth it, give it to me i'm worth it, baby i'm worth it uh huh i'm worth it, gimme gimme i'm worth it"
Anurag stepped inside, hand's on his ears as he walked past reception "Are you trying to deafen my workers" he shouted causing her to turn the song down but still shake her shoulders as she approached him
"Morning, I just was getting files ready for you, lighten up Basu" slamming the files into his hand she whistled "Feel free to sing along, a day that starts with a song never ends badly"
Anurag smirked, brown shirt tightening over his muscles as he crossed his arms "And who's advice is that"?
"Mine of course, so you have a meeting with those advisors from France, I took the liberty of ordering some French treats for you to give them to sweeten the deal, it's in your office and uh what was I going to say" tapping her chin she looked around "No idea, oh yeah have you had breakfast"?
"No, I usually don't"
"I thought you'd say that, that cafe across the road looks amazing so come on because I am starving" grabbing his wrist she began to drag him along
"I have work to do Miss Sharma" tugging his arm back he shook his head "And so do you" turning on his heel he walked away
Prerna blinked slowly, confused by his abrupt dismissal of her "Uh okay i'll just get back to work then" twisting the button on the radio she smiled "Baby i'm worth it"

Anurag hadn't managed to move away from the letter he had recieved this morning, how it had happened so quickly he wasn't sure. For so many years he had wished for happiness that at some point he had given up on it, he didn't ever expect happiness to come floating into his life in the form of the new worker at his firm, but everything had to come to an end at some point. Pressing his finger on the buzzer he gulped "Miss Sharma, my office please"
Prerna pushed open the door "Are you still in a mood or am I safe"? Sliding inside she moved to the chair only to halt upon hearing him speak
"No need to sit, this won't take long" standing up he rubbed his hands together "You've been working here for what, a week now"?
"Oh yeah, happy one week anniversary to us" her smile caught him off guard once again, it took everything within him not to smile back
"Komolika's lawyer sent me a letter this morning, I have to fire you or she's suing the company, now I looked at the cameras but they don't exactly show anything in your favour, now of course you'll get an extra payment and i'm more than happy to write a reference for you, i'm sorry it's come to this" he looked up, the reaction on her face was not what he was expecting
"So, wait let me get this straight, you're firing me for something I haven't even done, no" she chuckled "It doesn't work like that, I understand you don't want anything bad to happen to your workplace and I know you don't have any loyalties to me, you've only known me for a week but I won't lose my job because of someone else" grabbing the letter from him she smirked, eyes lightening as she stepped closer "You can fire me, it doesn't say anything about hiring me for another job, so take your pick Basu, what will it be, so many options, head of advisement sounds awfully endearing"
Usually Anurag was a thoughtful man, he never made decisions without considering all options and usually he consulted someone before he did make one, but now as he stood watching the woman who managed to drive him crazy and make him feel more alive all at the same time, he knew it was now or never. "Prerna Sharma I want you to be my work wife" he did not expect the cold splash of water seconds after the words had left his mouth
