Beautifully written Manasi, Deepika, and Namrata. You have described the serial so well. One thing is for sure, no matter how ridiculous some of the twists were, the lead characters have evolved through their experience.
We have had many discussions about how Anurag and Bajaj's characters have evolved, how they have faced kasautis, their pluses and minuses. And we all come to same conclusion that Prerna is the one who has created the biggest misunderstandings in both of these men's life. We all say that Prerna is the real culprit. But it seems like none of have tried to analyze her character. Even i don't like Prerna. But now i am going to put myself in her shoes and think from her perspective. So here is my analysis of Prerna's character.
Kzk began with Prerna and Anurag's love story. Prerna's character was like this girl-next-door. She was beautiful, young, bubbly and in love with Anurag, whom she had known for years. Then, kasuatis strat. Anurag is forced to marry Komo. In one second all her dreams, her love, her life shatters. She finds out that she is pregnant and carrying Anurag's child. She faces the greatest chellenge any young woman can face in our society. She and her family try to hide the truth from world and Anurag. She wants Anu to know about it but it is not her decision anymore, it is her family's decision. She gives birth to the child, but loses the right to call him her own. In order to pull herself together, she decides to take revenge against Anurag. But later finds out that Anu himself is helping her. Anurag also gets to know about Prem and Anu-Komo get divorce. Finally, her lonely life is over. Now she and Anu can get together, but fate has something else in mind. She ends up marrying Bajaj to save Basu business. Now as young wife of Bajaj and mother of his children, she begins to grow as a woman. With Anurag's support she settles in her married life. She fulfills her duties as a mother and as a wife, despite the fact that she loves someone else. She showers Bajaj's children with love and after a great ordeal finally wins their love. She slowly gets to know her husband and becomes good friends with him. But again fate doesn't want her to settle. Bajaj dies. She is now a young widow, a step-mother of 3 kids, 2 of which are her age, and mother of young Prem. Although, her life has fallen apart, she once again tries to rebuild it finally by getting together with the only man she ever loved. She tries to complete her family with Anurag and Prem. But old relationships don't let her go compeletly. She is still bound to those kids who have now become part of her life and her responsibility. She tries to move on, but old relations don't let her. Before it was her love for Anu that held her back and not it is her love and responsibility for children of her deceased husband. She is always forced to juggle two families and two lives at the same time. Then, she finds out that her husband is alive. She is afraid that her current life will be shattered. Once agian she finds herself pulled in two directions. And this time both Anurag and Bajaj are her husbands. She loves Anu to much to let go and she feels a sense of responsibility towards Bajaj. She tries to solve her problems by once agian balancing both lives and ends up losing Anu's trust. She is accused of having a relationship with Bajaj and getting pregnant with his baby. She still loves Anu, but he doesn't trust her anymore and she gains enough support from Bajaj. Meanwhile, she loses her son. For a mother, nothing could be more heartbreaking than losing her son. With Prem gone, the final strings of Anu and Prerna's relations are broken. Then, Prerna lives for years with Bajaj. She realizes that Bajaj not only supports her and Sneha, but he also loves them both very much. Sneha is the only hope of ray in her life. But Sneha also ends up on steps of death. She is forced to get back with Anu for her daughter's sake. All those emotions, feelings that she had kept in control for all these years come flooding back. But those emotions have no place in her life anymore. She cannot leave Bajaj. Her priorities have changed. Bajaj is more important now than Anu. And then Anu dies. she is shattered, but finds out that he's alright. Once again the happiness takes over the responsibility and respect for Bajaj. But she knows that she is on a place from where she can't go only forward. Anu comes back in her life as a best friend and gets her and Bajaj together. She loses her second son and Anu goes away from her life. Finally, the life is settled. But after 20 years her past comes back. Her daughter goes throughs same fate as she did years ago. Now life has taken everything from her, but she cannot give up. She has a family. But to cope with her pain, she begins blaming Anu, trying her best to hate him, to erase her past. But fate puts her back with Anu under amnesia. The old moments,old love is revived. She comes out of amnesia and is told that Anu is trying to break her marraige. She tries her best to make sure that Anu is the attacker. She does that to undo those moments and feeling she had with Anu while under amnesia. But her fate is that truth is agianst her wishes. She is once agian put in between her husband and that special person whom she owes a lot and still loves deep-down.
Kasauti is more than anything about life of Prerna. She is the center character. Story revolves around her. It is not Prerna who cannot make up her mind. But fate always puts her in a position where she has two choose betweent two people. And no matter who she choses, life has a way of bringing her back to the same place over and over again.
