Mahesh wanted to be a TELEGU hero!!:o

Amar Upadhayay, better known as the original Mihir from the serial Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi was in Hyderabad for a week to pursue a career in Tollywood, the Telugu Cinema.

After an unsuccessful stint in Bollywood, Amar was not made welcome in the television industry after he left TV tzarina Ekta Kapoor in the lurch for films.

Currently staying with friends at Jubilee Hills an optimistic Amar says, "My agenda is to meet a few producers here. I have already met M.S. Raju and am very keen on working with him. I have also heard a lot about the producer/director Teja."

He feels that Tollywood is very professional. Not many newcomers will back Amar on this comment as Tollywood is known for working not only as a closely knit cartel where successful stars only star in their own films, but also as an industry which isn't known to make superstars of any actor wanting to be a hero. In fact, the producer with whom Amar has worked with in the past is known not to take any star in his films, as he has to pay them.

Also it's alleged that many of the popular Telugu heroes don't want any newcomer to make it big as they are all in the process of grooming their own children to take over. Appearing unaware of the above mentioned realities, Amar doesn't think that language will be a problem. "I can speak Tamil," he proclaims. One assumes that he can pick up languages quickly because Telugu isn't similar to Tamil in the least.

Shopping is his second priority in town. "Hyderabadi fabrics are famous and I have a long list which details my wife's farmaish."

The actor appears to be happy with the kind of response he has received from fans here. As soon as a bunch of young girls spotted him, they came up to him and requested for autographs.
