I don't know, Karrie - I just know that Jeremy Taylor said it - he was a clergyman and a writer.

Yaar...it's indescribable the surreal feeling one goes through...We see so many bad things happening around us in the world...but it never hits home until something actually happens in your own place.

I will never be able to forget that day as well as the week that followed...I think I was in shock for that entire day atleast. I was in a class one building over from where it happened, and we had no idea...until we came out of class...and were just walking towards the bus stop to catch the bus back when all these cop cars and ambulances came careening around the corner and then the cops started yelling at us to get back...They surrounded all the remaining buildings at that point as well, and they had their guns out. We got really scared but didn't have any idea abt the gravity of the situation...we thought they were probably checking out random bomb threats. We just managed to catch the last bus off campus...I remember just before we got on the bus, telling my friend that I smell gunpowder in the air...and I kept saying, but the cops haven't fired yet...where's that smell coming from?? It was only later I realized that it was probably coming from the building where the shooting had happened Being a very windy day...the smell blew towards us.

Sometimes I still can't believe this happened at our univ. We're situated in like one of the quietest towns in the entire US!! NOTHING ever happens here!! and then something of this magnitude I didn't know anyone personally very well...but it was a very harrowing experience cuz a lot of my friends knew some of the victims personally...and they all had breakdowns when they heard the news 😭 😭 I couldn't sleep that entire week...The way they kept broadcasting that guy's face all over the news with the gun in his hand I kept getting nightmares about it.

Oh wow, I'm really sorry for having rambled on like this...I just realized.

Don't be sorry - its good that you shared...

I know, it doesn't really affect us till it happens to us or someone close to us...there was a similar thing for me when 7/7 happened - I woke up to the news in disbelief...I live about 20 mins away from the centre of London and we all use King's Cross station quite regularly; in fact my dad was due to go into town tat very day: luckily he changed his plans the night before. But I shudder to wonder what would have happened had he or anyone I know taken the trains that day and in fact, in the end it didn't matter that he hadn't gone - it was still so horribly close to us....

My God, I cannot imagine anything more scary than that loss of security you must have felt that day . What a horrible experience..

As for what your friends must have gone through, thats way to sad to even put into words.

Oh wow, Vas...I can totally understand! That was a horrible event! Thank god your dad changed his plans. God knows what this world is coming to.

You know in our case, it's just too unbelievable to think that an individual with this sick of a mindset was walking around with us...probably in classes with us I used to have a class in the building a semester before. Now, i walk past it everyday to class...but I still can't bring myself to go inside...Just imagining what happened gives me shudders...Especially after learning about everything that happened inside each moment...

Just the extent to which that guy was disturbed gives me the shudders. Have you seen those pics that he took of himself holding knives and guns?? They circulated those so much over the news unnecessarily!! No respect for anyone's sentiments! Just wanted to sensationalize everything!
