Wow, thanks😳 I am really glad you like it so much.
Aww, you love PD. Thats so sweet of you, I spent a lot of time trying to develope her character.😳
Anyway, i am updating now..
Hey everyone, here's the much awaited PM reunion episode:
Note: For the purpose of this two-part episode alone, have I decided to not use the script style of writing. No dialogues could ever do Prem Mukti justice for much of their power lay in their unexpressed emtions.
😳Dedicated to every Premika that there is😳
Episode 15- A Lovers' Reunion Part 1
Time does not bring relief; you all have lied
Who told me time would ease me of my pain!
I miss him in the weeping of the rain;
I want him at the shrinking of the tide;
The old snows melt from every mountain-side,
And last year's leaves are smoke in every lane;
But last year's bitter loving must remain
Heaped on my heart, and my old thoughts abide!
There are a hundred places where I fear
To go, -- so with his memory they brim!
And entering with relief some quiet place
Where never fell his foot or shone his face
I say, "There is no memory of him here!"
And so stand stricken, so remembering him!
-Edna St. Vincent Millay
Soulmates, these are two halves of the same soul. Two bodies that the universe conspires to bring together. No matter how different the temperament, or the values of each person may be, destiny realizes that these two are never complete without each other, and forces them to meet and to meet again till this lesson is learnt by the mortals themselves. Thus, as Prem Sharma entered that park, he felt that familiar twinge that destiny was waiting inside for him. Destiny and of course his twin soul, his Mukti.
He drew his breath as he he entered and let the memories engulf him. Little had PD known, that park where she had sent him was one which he visited whenever he needed to mourn Mukti. His eyes looked at the familiar landscape, marking each spot with its own memory. There, he had mocked Mukti while she was doing those rounds of exercises. He smiled at the memory of the happpier times. She had won that round and he had ended up in the ocean, soaking wet.
On that bench, he had sat, an expectant lover waiting for her to show up. She did, of course show up. Just as he knew she would. The pull between them was stronger than any force on this universe. It didn't matter to him that she had come to reject him once again, what mattered was that she had come, she always showed up when he needed her. He remembered when he was lying on the road, after being assualted by those thugs. She had come through for him, then too. She ran two kilometres just to save his life. How dismissive he had been of the passion she felt then. Only later, did he realize the true depth of of it and the limits it could cross.
His mind once again shifted to the park. He remembered the old couple he had met when waiting for her. They had understood his obsession, appluaded it too. Looking at them had made him for the first time think about the far-off future. A future he had planned to share with Mukti. He imagined her as an old woman. those fiery eyes gleaming with wisdom. Her wrinkled skin as alluring to him as the smooth skin of the naive girl who had once danced with him. To him, an aged Mukti was a beautiful prospect for it meant a living Mukti.
Prem knew it was impractical to invest so much feelings into an unattainable dream. It was unhealthy to spent so much time dwelling on his memories, but there was just one problem: He had never truly accepted her death.
"Why is that some memories, no matter how painful they are, never truly go away" Mukti Deshmukh wondered as she stood inside the park.
"Its been years since I walked down that path with my heart pounding, my body trembling, my soul rebelling agaisnt turning Prem down, yet I can still remember everything perfectly. I should really get over it."
Yet there she stood, rooted to the spot where she had once been offered the world and had rejected it .
She was angry at her inability to control her emotions. She had always been so proud of being a survivor, of needing no one but herself. She had got through her mother's death and her rape all by herself, even these fresh new wounds created when she found out about Mr. Bajaj's, a man she loved like her own father and her little sister's deaths, were showing signs towards healing, but not this pain, not the pain of losing Prem. She just couldn't will this pain away.
"Its okay, even if I don't have him. I still have everything else. i have my career and my kid. My baby, who is growing up to be exactly like Prem, she has inherited his strong will and endearing charm." But even as she thought these words, Mukti knew it just was not enough.
She had dreams about her perfect family. Where the two people she loved most in the world were together as a family. Where she could run to her mother everytime she felt worried instead of keeping it all botttled up inside. But the mornings always made her realize the hard cold realities of day, the hard cold realities of life. She sighed softly.
It was a soft sigh, one he should not have heard. But he heard it as clearly as a scream. He saw her. She had her back turned to him, but he knew. He knew her by her posture, as familiar to him as his own. He knew her by her long dark hair glistening down her back. His mind did not question this miraculous event. He was not even surprised, it felt inevitable. It seemed as if he had known it the instant he walked in the park, known somehow that his destiny was waiting for him, Mukti was waiting for him.
He had not uttered her name so her ears could not have heard him. He had not touched her so her body could not have felt. Yet she knew for her soul had responded, responded to his presence. The practical, thinking side of her went numb as the ecstacy of finally seeing him consumed her and she turned around
As she turned around, he paused to catch his breath. How could he have ever thought of her as neither beautiful nor sexy. She was the epitome of both qualities. His eyes went greedily over her face. He had not touched her yet, looking at her was enough for now. He remembered once telling her that she was beautiful for her inner beauty reflected on her face. The words he had said to quell her fears were truer now than ever, her brow blazed with intelligence, her jaw emphasized her stubbornness , and the expression in her fierce brown eyes equalled him in his longing.
"Just like Mukti," he thought distractedly. "She has to match me in everything"
And he slowly raised his palm to touch her cheek.
