i am a fan of anurag but even he was irritating at times. i don't think ekta's characters are loveable...they all do something stupid/irritating at least once. the women are stubborn and the good men are losers who are afraid to speak up. there is a general trend in her characters- sati savitri women as you have said (who are highly naive to the point of being stupid or they are so stubborn that you want to whack them), if they are not sati savitri then they are evil...the men are never sati savitri, they are always bad but they all have a good heart even though they all do despicable things (but always under some unavoidable situations)...and if the men were ever good boys (anurag, lakshya) they turn into super losers and ends up doing despicable things as well...which is sad!!!

Anurag is not a looser, please don't even compare him to lakshay, Anurag is so sweet, has always been so good, and is 10 times better good looking than lakshay, actully doesn't even stand a chance in front of Anurag, either be Anurag as Cezanne😃 or Anurag as Hiten.😳

KS ppl have nicks for every damn character..from Jai/Bani to theiur Butler Toni..so AD is no exception. As of now, nothing has been revelaed of his past..but Jai has, in some way, been resposible for the death of AD's wife & he is seeking revenge. As far as keeping an innocent girl for his own motives..its bullshit. He saved Bani from fire & gave her a choice..either to go back & get caught by police or come with him & he would give her anew identity & life...she chose the latter. Even in a recent episode, where she went to Walia House, he didn't stop her or even call her back...he only went to release her when her gr8 husband couldn't stop her from getting arrested...so AD is not forcing her..it was her choice to become Durga...

And dear..I was not commenting on the value systems of any character...I was talking abt the popularity......Like Prem had nothing worth mentioning by way of values..but Manoj still made him an icon.

ok so AD did a great favour to bani n fall in luv wid her and now I think AD n bani r geting married too and bani is marrying AD coz of sum majboori just like prerna married bajaj. wt im trying to say is AD is nothing new, he is just bajaj's second version n bani is like prerna . u ppl r happy that AD n bani r getting married but u know after six months u would be cursing bani for not being loyal to her husband and wishing for AD's death coz it will give him liberty from bani like u r happy at bajaj's death.

characters like bajaj mihir etc can get popular but its just coz of the actors's ability and not the essence of that character! in this case the actor is an 'ICON' not that character . like i can say that tulsi is an icon coz that character is very strong and not messed up but i cant call mihir an 'iconic ' character!
