Exactly! Wow...I never realised there was yet another source of Ekta's "inspirations" - the great classical tradition itself!! The very foundation of civilisation as we know it!! Wow, my respect for Ekta has grown treble-fold!! And by respect I mean my incredulous disbelief at her skills of airlifting whole stories, plots, themes and background music 😆

Yes, and all the heroes have a hamartia (tragic flaw) 😆 😆 Prerna's is pendulum-giri, Parvati's is too much trust, Tulsi's is....a love of guns 😆 😆 and there is usually a catharsis too in the form of a female protagonist finally avenging her pains with the blessings of Goddess Durga, Kali etc etc

😆

If there's any justice in the world, maybe one day, schoolchildren across the globe will be forced to learn and revise the great Tragedies of Ekta Kapoor - the Tragedy of Prerna, or Kasauti Zindagi Kay; the Tragedy of Tulsi, or Kyunki...; the Comedy of Kashish, or Kahin To Hoga 😆 😆 😆

Hee! You got to hand it to her, if you're going to shamelessly "borrow" plots at least borrow them from the classics. Thinking about it I see lots of Shakespearean parallels too 😆 😆

Good Lord no, years from now children forced to write essays on why Tulsi was the heroine of a generation🤢 🤢

I'm having serious school flashbacks about the evilness of Hardy now😕

I was just about to say that!! But then there's no surprise - Shakespeare can hardly be called original 😆 He was a great pilferer of story too!! Desdemona-Disdemona, anyone? 😆 (he basically "borrowed" the story of Othello from another play called The Black Moor, in which the Moor's wife's name was Disdemona! Only the Moor's name was not revealed - that was Shakespeare's invention!)
