Amarr not in Kyunki
Ekta says Upadhyay's 'entry' into the show was his own wishful-thinking!

The news that has been doing the rounds on the television for a while now concerns Amarr Upadhyay's return to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the top-rated show that made a national icon out of the actor and the lead protagonist Mihir Virani. While Upadhyay had announced his re-entry into the Star Plus TRP-buster, it turns out that the information was the actor's personal wishful thinking.
Producer Ekta Kapoor finally clarifies with a laugh, "I read Amarr talk about his entry into Kyunki…. According to reports he was to play Tulsi's grandson named Mayank in the soap. Well, all of it sounds like wishful thinking to me. I'm sorry to say this, but it isn't true at all. Amarr won't be any part of Kyunki…. Nor have I any intentions of replacing Ronit Roy in Mihir's role. Ronit isn't going anywhere. And we aren't looking for anyone else."
Actor Upadhyay had left Kyunki… and Ekta's Balaji Productions in 2001 to pursue a film career. Ekta admits that he's now returned to the Balaji stable: "He's back with us. And he has important roles in two of our serials Kkusum and Kasauti Zindagi Kay. But sorry, no Mihir or Kyunki."
As for the actor's past assertions to the contrary, Upadhyay says, "I was misquoted." Not explaining how he could be misquoted in a matter as simple as this, Upadhyay insists he hasn't given up on a film career either.
"I've never believed in giving up. I've received several film offers. But I don't want to repeat the same mistakes. I'm negotiating for better projects with better directors. I've my fingers crossed." Just how Amarr intends to regain lost ground in cinema after returning to television, is one that could boggle most minds. Even more boggling is the present 'Mihir' (Ronit Roy's) constant on-off status vis-a -vis the two rival soaps Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Sarkar on Star and Zee respectively.
