Part 2

The function ended. People started leaving. There was a big circle of people around Rishabh..she couldn't see him. She didn't have any plans to see him either. She had come to the function as a formal obligation, and had no idea that he would be there too. She was shocked to see him, and happy ofcourse. But she had no reason to contact him as such.

She got up to leave. Unknown to her, Rishabh too had excused himself and was about to leave. He was approaching the door when he realised that some lady was behind him. Always the gentleman, he held the door for her. She was busy looking at her cell, and was happy to see someone holding the door for her..these old manners were so rare these days. She walked out of the door, smiled and turned around to say 'thanks'..He walked out of the door..walked a few steps looking down, and then he looked up......their eyes locked...once again.

Rishabh stood there and looked at her. His gaze was intense, he just could not take his eyes off her.

She smiled nervously - had he recognised her or not...she wondered.
She parted her lips to say something, but she found her voice lost..as if somebody had pressed the 'mute' button of the remote control.
Rishabh stammered "you...here..wha.."
She smiled- "I came for the function..I didn't know about your award though..Congratulations"
"Thanks..." He smiled.
Rishabh Bajaj and Niharika Aggarwal just looked at each other, smiling, searching, their hearts pounding faster than ever..
"Mr Bajaj!" He heard Prerna calling him. He wanted to respond, but there were just too many questions going on in his head now.
"Chaliye Mr Bajaj. Tanvi is sleepy." Prerna came there carrying Tanvi. Cookie and Sudeep had left already.
Looking back at her, he said "This is my grand-daughter Tanvi."
He was a grandfather now..
"Prerna that's Niharika..my friend. Niharika, this is Prerna- my wife."
Prerna smiled at Niharika.
"Mr Bajaj, jaldi chaliye. "
"haan chalo.." He said- his eyes still gazing at Niharika.
Prerna walked away with Tanvi.
"Niharika.." Rishabh said.
Niharika felt as if all her senses had suddenly come alive..hearing him say her name..the way he said it...made her feel as if nothing had changed between them over the years..If she needed an assurance, that was that.
Prerna turned around and looked at Rishabh angrily- why was he not following her like he always does?
"You are getting late. "Niharika said, her voice was choking but she was trying to keep it as normal as possible.She wanted to say 'Bye Rishabh' but she was unable to say anything..
She looked down- this was so stupid...she wasn't going to cry..after all these years..certainly not..

Rishabh wondered if she really didn't want to speak to him..was he forcing this conversation on her..he withdrew. he smiled slightly, nodded his head, and turned away.
He walked towards Prerna. A fresh batch of reporters arrived from nowhere and started interviewing rish and prerna.
Niharika stared at him from a distance, then turned around. She went and sat in her car in a daze.

Niharika controlled herself. It was nice to see him again, nice to know that he had a nice family and a well-settled business. But she had nothing to do with him now. She knew it. She just needed to get it properly inside her head.
And then..she just remembered something. "Oh no it's crazy" she thought. But then, what's the harm..and now that she had got the idea, she just HAD to do it.
She scrambled in her purse, found a tissue paper, took out her lipstick and wrote her number on the paper. Then she got out of the car, and tagged the tissue paper at the branch of the only tree in the compound. Then she smiled and drove back home. She was certain that he wasn't going to ever find the tissue paper. But it was fun, wasn't it!
Rish and Prerna came out of the auditorium. Theirs was the only car left in the parking slot now. Still, Rish ws looking around...a person, a car, a sign....?
He looked around..stared at the only tree in the compound. Then he spotted the tissue paper-and were those lipstick marks or what..what was it? As Prerna walked ahead, he quickly grabbed the paper and kept it in his pocket. She didn't see him doing that.
He drove the car fast, nervously checking his pocket every few minutes.
They reached home. "Main ise sulaake aati hu" Prerna said and carried Tanvi to her specially designed small kiddie bedroom.

He went to his study room and locked the door from inside. He took out the paper from his pocket and opened it.
There was a cell number, and one small J besides it.
"Jaan.." he sighed and sat down in his executive chair, resting his head back on the head-rest...staring at the paper..trying hard to fight the tears in his eyes....

omg rocksome! just rocksome stuff! Niharika sounds interesting...keep it up neha 👏

but yea i m happy to read this one and actually refreshing to see Rish havin a past and a chic who was fida over him and had a serious relationship otherwise it is only Prerna doing this 😡 ...very well written Neha...i thoroughly enjoyed it..these two seemed to have been very close....awww what happened? Please make Prerna jealous 😆 😆 😆

Earlier there was news that Gauri Pradhan-Tejwani ws going to enter kzk opp. rish. they even had apt title for the news- bahu bani premika- LOL.

but sonal sehlgal and gauri tejwani are both hot enough to be rish's women..and so is niharika.
