'Not all men deserve to be hated by me'
Urvashi Dholakia on love, breakups and Mr Right!
ROSHNI OLIVERA
Television's popular vamp Urvashi Dholakia does not want to restrict herself to just negative roles. She'd love to take up different kinds of roles as well. "It's not just two aspects, positive and negative, to a character. There's a lot more. And it's time actors are given an opportunity to show their capability," she says. So, is she tired of playing negative characters? "Not really. There's fame and money, so why not?"
On the personal front, Urvashi says she's happily single. She'd rather not talk about her recent breakup with composer Sandeep Chowta. "It's not recent. That's history," she says. Urvashi was married at 16 and went through a divorce by 18. Her sons (twins) are her world today. But, is she disillusioned with love? "I'm certainly not disillusioned with love. But, how do you define love? Nobody can," she says. So, is she waiting for Mr Right? "Is there a Mr Right at all?" she laughs. On a serious note, she says, "Just because things didn't work out for me earlier or now doesn't mean I'm anti-men. Theek hai...nahin hua, nahin hua. Not all men deserve to be hated by me!"
Talking about relationships and the expectations that people usually have while getting into one, she says, "That's the way it's got to to be. If it is just friendly or so casual then why give it a commitment term like relationship. If you have no expectations and don't want to give anything then why is it a relationship?"
