We are seeing Smriti Z Irani in a spate of different roles.

First, her aged grandma look as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi jumped another 20 years and then as a much younger and slimmer Uma in her own serial Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasmaan.

Off screen, gossip was suddenly abuzz when talk of Irani taking on Ekta Kapoor by defecting to a rival channel did rounds - "all media created controversies that I'd rather refrain from commenting on".

And, now, for Star Plus Diwali show this Saturday, she's shaking a leg to the KANK number Rock and Roll Soniye along with co-star Ronit Roy.

"We shot that completely unrehearsed. I simply relied on Dada (Ronit Roy) to take me through it," she says from her Dahanu farmhouse, where she spending time off observing karva chauth.

"I have been doing it for years. In fact, I can't even take medicines for the bad cold I have right now. But it's okay, I have my moon (husband Zubin) with me. Gosh, now, don't I sound very Balaji," she laughs.
