hey,
i'm not going to judge anyone who has an abortion, tons of my friends have had them, but this is my take...and i don't force it on anyone.
But if you make that decision to sleep with someone, then you have to live with the consequences, only in extreme cases like when you are raped, is it somewhat an "Excuse" to abort a child.
Its Kasak and her man's fault that she is prergnant...and if Shravan isn't man enough to do something about it, then shame on him!
I'd be proud of Kasak if she raised the child, it shows she can live with her actions, and that she holds someone else's views higher than society's (God).
Who asks the poor child, in that womb, if he or she has or not the right to be in this world, why should it be only the mother who suffers...i wish just for once, Men were making babies...I'd like to see them then, and did you know over 77% of men are against abortions..i know its a stat and you have to approach it carefully, but it was taken in Canada.
I think either way, I would respect Kasak's choice, but I just sometimes, don't understand why girls put themselved in such situations...I mean we should learn to love with the heart, but follow the mind when the heart loses its ways.
So, I don't know...if Kasak had an abortion ppl would have an uproar, it seems like indian society like to see the girl keep her child...as in a way to punish her...if you don't think there is some propaganda in an indirect and subtle way in these dramas that are pushing such ideas you are naive...though they are subtler, never be mistaken, they are just as harsh in their outcomes.
When you watch these shows, try to see what the ideals and traditions are being projected, even though you agree with them, its always important to question them if only to know why we believe in what we do in the first place, we should all be public intellectuals.
i'm not saying this only happens in indian shows, it happens in all of them around the world
but yeah the question was about abortion...i've never been in such a position, though i have a right to judgment i don't think my judgment is of any real skeptical analytical thought.
