Hey its an amazing fan-fic. Though I usually read only the PM stuff, I read a couple of lines from urs, and its gr8 stuff... extremely well written. And now please don't leave us hanging in anticipation and update it soon...

Finally, the evening had arrived. Prerna wore the red saree Rishabh had gifted her for her 1^st Karwachauth…with traditional Marwari jewellery, mangalsutra & sindoor & hair left open, she looked divine…the perfect Indian wife.

Prerna, Doris, Anurag, Sam & the Basu family left. As they entered the driveway, they saw Prem's car ahead of them. Prem was standing outside, leaning on the car with Debo & Komolika at his side. Prem was looking at the house…it was one of the biggest mansions in Mumbai…a huge ground+2 affair in pure white. Prem had always dreamt of buying it for himself…& now it belonged to Tushar.

He could see Tushar standing near the entrance talking to reporters…they had almost engulfed him & were bombarding him with questions…as if they couldn't have enough of him. Till yesterday, these same reporters were all around him, but now they didn't him give him a second glance…Prem didn't know what his feelings were…anger bcoz Tushar took over his business, helplessness bcoz all his dreams were being shattered in front of his eyes & he couldn't do anything or a sense of apprehensiveness bcoz now Tushar was very powerful…much more than him…he didn't know what lay ahead for him. In that moment he realised what Mr. Bajaj might have felt when he took over the Bajaj Empire.

Reporter: Sir, when will we enter the house?

Tushar: Soon. Actually I'm waiting for someone.

He turns & sees Prerna in the car. He comes to her & opens the door of the car for her. He escorts her to the door. Prerna sees the respect with which reporters & everyone else were making way for Tushar & feels proud of him…she realises how much similar he is to Rishabh…his passion for business, his dedication to his family, his chivalry…

Tushar: Mom, open the door.

Prerna pushes the door…she is taken aback by the sheer size & grandeur of the house. The entire house had been decorated in red. The walls were adorned with their family photos. Tushar had made it as similar to their earlier house as possible. The lighting was very dim…Prerna could just about manage to see the photos.

Without any warning the lights went off…on one of the walls, a projector was displaying some of Prerna's most precious moments…Sneha's birth, her childhood, Prerna's engagement to Mr. Bajaj, their wedding, Kasak's birth & childhood, Tushar's wedding, Vishakha's wedding, the different occasions when the kids had won prizes for various reasons…Tushar had won for squash, Kasak for a drama competition in her college…, Cookie's marriage…all the golden moments she had spent with her husband & her kids…it seemed to Prerna that she was re – living her entire life.

All through this there had been an instrumental playing…Right Here Waiting For You…Prerna was not paying attention. But now when it suddenly stopped, she realised it. A spotlight focussed on a piano in the darkest corner of the room…in the light she could see her portrait that always held the place of esteem in their previous residences…the one Mr. Bajaj had got done from the best artists in the country. A man was playing something on the piano…all the other lights dimmed…the man started playing a song…& also singing softly

Yeh jo paal jeewan main aaya hai

Hum ko milaya hai phir ek baar

Wo lamhe phir paas aaein hain

Roothay the jo hum sa yaar

Prerna started walking towards the piano…there were many people surrounding that man…but everyone was in shadows…Prerna was confused…she looked behind & called out for Tushar but he was not there…suddenly there was a voice…

'HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PRERNA'

As these words kept ringing in Prerna's ears the spotlight focused again on the piano…the only difference was that this time no one was sitting at the piano…she saw the 'nazara' her eyes had been looking for, for the past 6 years…she saw her husband…her life…Rishabh Bajaj standing there surrounded by all their kids.

Rishabh was in a black suit, with an open – necked shirt…looking like an absolute prince…there was no other word for him. In the 5 years that she had not seen him, he hadn't changed much…he looked a bit tired…but that's about it.

To his left stood Sneha…she looked so different that she was almost unrecognisable…that sullen, vacant look had given way to her old, pleasant expressions. She was clutching Rishabh's arm as if she would never let it go. To her right were Tushar & Doris…both looking very happy & satisfied. On the other side were Vishakha & her husband, Vansh…to Vishakha's right were Cookie & Adi. Then was Mukti & as Prerna's looked beyond Mukti…she stared as if she didn't believe her eyes. Kasak & a boy she didn't know were standing to Rishabh's right…Kasak…her youngest daughter…Prerna had started feeling that she will never again see Kasak. As Prerna moved ahead…all the kids said in a chorus…

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD!!!

Rishabh & Prerna moved towards each other…both of them kept looking at each other without saying a word…their gaze was not shifting from each other's eyes…as they came close they still didn't say anything…both were just looking at each other as they couldn't believe they were together again.

Rishabh & Prerna stood face – to – face. They were still looking into each other's eyes…Rishabh slowly put his arms around Prerna's waist & pulled her towards himself in a tight hug. In that hug, Prerna forgot all her worries, all her pains…under the weight of her husband's hug, all her problems seemed to dissolve…the entire party hall was just looking at them, the reporters were clicking photos like mad but they didn't care…it was as if no one existed in the world apart from the two of them.

Suddenly the DJ played a song which both of them loved…they were surprised coz this was not a song that was a typical party song. But when they saw Tushar standing next to the DJ they realised how the song was played…Tushar knew both his parents loved the song…

Rishabh & Prerna had still not spoken a word…they didn't need to…their eyes did all the talking.

Then suddenly they heard Kasak saying, "Mom aur Dad, hum sab bhi hain." They turned towards the kids & Prerna realised she didn't know the boy standing next to Kasak.

Prerna: Mr. Bajaj, who is this boy with Kasak? He is so good looking.

Rishabh: Prerna that is Kasak's fianc, Yug. He is Adi's younger brother.

Prerna: Kasak's FIANCE??? When did she get engaged?

Rishabh: A couple of years ago. I'll tell you everything later. Right now let's cut the cake.

Both of them walk to where the children are standing. Prerna hugs Kasak tightly.

Kasak: Mom, did u like Yug?

Prerna: Yes. Very much. Is he your choice?

Kasak: No, Tushar bhaiya's. Even Adi jiju is Tushar bhaiya's choice. But now forget about that & cut the cake.

As Rishabh & Prerna are about to cut the cake, Kasak & Sneha start their age – old argument on who will get the 1^st piece of cake from their dad. Prerna & Rishabh give each the 'Oh – not – again' look

Rishabh: Bachchon…do you mind if we cut the cake first? Then we'll decide who will have it first.

Kasak & Sneha: Yeah of course!

Rishabh & Prerna cut the delicious chocolate cake amidst deafening applause & the flash of cameras. As soon as they keep the knife down, Kasak & Sneha start again… "Me first", "No me first" …

Rishabh: Enough…the first piece is for my beautiful wife…

Prerna: And the 2^nd piece is for my husband…after all it's our anniversary that you are celebrating

Kasak & Sneha roll their eyes & say, "OK"

Rishabh & Prerna feed each other the cake. Then Rishabh cuts a few more pieces & says, "Now who wants it?"

Kasak & Sneha both try to get nearest to him…Rishabh just picks up two pieces & feeds both Sneha & Kasak at the same time & laughs.

Prerna looks at him lovingly….always the perfect dad…never disappoints any of his kids.

Tushar turns to the reporters, "By now I'm sure you must have guessed who the Chairman of VTKS group is…My father."

A reporter comes & says: Sir, can we have a family photo please?

The next day newspapers all over the country scream the same headline…THE KING RETURNS…the sub – title reads: The uncrowned emperor of India Inc strikes; Rishabh Bajaj gets back his entire business by vesting control of KP Industries. Then there is the picture which was taken yesterday…below which is written: Business tycoon Rishabh Bajaj with his wife Prerna, son Tushar, daughter – in – law Doris, daughters Vishakha, Cookie, Sneha, Kasak, Mukti & sons – in – law Vansh Khanna & Aditya & Yug Mittal.

As Prem sees the newspaper he thinks wistfully, "If I had not done what I did, I could have been a part of this happy family. Maybe Mother India is right after all…at the end of the day, it is family, & not money that matters. But now it is too late."
