Its been 6 months since Prerna is out of jail and since she does not find her Rishabh she decides to stay at Anurags place with Sneha and Tusshar, and the rest of the kids. Anurag and the kids give her the idea that after she was put in jail, Mr. Bajaj gave everything to Prem and Tusshar to handle and went away, and is still not back till date. Prem betrayed Tusshar and ended up making himself the boss and threw Tusshar out. According to Anurag, Bajaj told him that he just wanted some time to himself and its been 5 years and he is still not back. Anurag decided that he should now take care of the kids and so they are now living with him and Sampada. Prerna finds this out is devastated, she tries to look for him, but obviously what Anurag couldnt do in 5 years how could she do in a couple of months. Anurag and Sampada are happily married, and they have their own son, and are about to have another child when Mohini decides to take her to some pilgrimage with Anurag, due to some business meetings Anurag decides to stay back a few days and then join them later.

Prerna is completely lost in her own world, regretting everyday that she should have told Bajaj the truth, about the murder and it is because of her that he left, coz he couldnt live without her. She dreads each day thinking that her Rishabh is not alive. She is lost in the beautiful memories of herself with the love of her life, who has given her every happiness that she had ever hoped for. Prerna thinks that she is responsible for Bajaj going away.

So now it is only Anurag, Prerna, Sneha, Nakul(anu and sams son), tusshar, doris, cookie and others, they are all sitting in the living room, when the phone rings and somebody calls him and tells him that they have found Rishabh Bajaj and he is right now in a very critical condition as he has just met with an accident. Anurag is obviously shocked and wants to know whether this is their Mr. Bajaj or someone else, he decides to take Tusshar with him, before he lets this news out.

They reach the hospital and find out that it is their Mr. Bajaj and are completely filled with joy and know that the person who will be even happier is none other than Prerna. Anurag tries to find out where he has been and the police say that the driver who was not that hurt has given a testimony that he lives alone in London. He came down here to visit his kids, to see if they are doing alright. The police tell Anurag and Tusshar that according to the driver, Bajaj comes to meet his kids every year but never meets them personally. Anurag and Tusshar are shocked. the doctor comes to Anurag and Tusshar.

A: Dr. hows Mr. Bajaj doing now?
Dr: Its tough to say now coz he is really critical, the accident has been deadly. We have done our best, now its all luck, I regret saying this.
A: There is no way out, I mean what are the chances?
Dr.: very slim, mr. Basu.
T: Please save my father dr. we have lived long enough without him.
Dr: Dekhiye hum apni taraf se puri koshish kar rahe hai, lekin ek try aur kar sakte hai.

Dr: I dont know who this Prerna is Mr. Basu, but all I can say is that our last resort to save mr. Bajaj is Prerna.
A: I still dont get you.
Dr: Well due to the heavy injuries on his body, and since he was already unconscious we didnt give him any anesthesia, so he was partially conscious and he was taking this womans name. Now I dont know much about Mr. Bajaj and his personal life, but all I can say is that a person in this condition only takes the name of the people he loves the most. So we must get Prerna here.
A: Sure Dr. I will bring her, Prerna is Mr. Bajajs wife.
Dr: Oh really, well Mr. Bajaj surely loves his wife then.
A: he sure does.

Anurag tells Prerna that they need to go to the hospital but doesnt tell her why. She just goes along. The doctor takes her to Rishabhs room and even before entering the room she feels his presence and at the same time hesitant to take each step forward because she doesnt wanna see her Rishabh in such a place. She wanted to meet him but not this way, not in a hospital room. She has tears in her eyes and the moment she reaches the doorstep, she breaks down as she sees her Rishabh lieing on the bed with needles going through his body, an oxygen mask. She is not able to control herself. She runs towards him and tries to wake him up. The moment she touches his face, and kisses his forehead, Rishabh opens his eyes. He doesnt know what is going coz he is partially conscious. He smiles and is about to lift his hand to touch her face when he begins to breathe heavily and suddenly the monitor starts beeping. Prerna is shocked she doesnt know what to do, she rushes outside and calls for help. The doctor and his nurses enter and operate, he is calm now, they remove his mask. Rishabh opens his eyes again and looks for Prerna as he feels her presence, he sees Anurag and Prerna standing next to each other. He smiles, they smile back at him.
