Yours has been a pretty painless baptism into the world of television. You can say that again! Three days in Mumbai and I had auditioned for Ekta Kapoor's Kahiin To Hoga. One day later, I was told I had been selected. I was dumbstruck. Not only that, you also meet someone very special. A handsome and charming young man. (Blushes) Are you talking about Chaitanya Chaudhary (Akshat in Kahiin To Hoga)? Oh come on. Can't I be best friends with a guy? Are we living in the 18th century? Chaitanya and I are the best of pals. We have excellent chemistry on screen. But we are not dating each other. Do you recollect the day when you first met him? The Balaji people had created so much hype around him. Going by the hype, I thought he would have loads of attitude. But from day one I discovered that he was a very sweet person. But in the serial, you fight like cats and dogs? In fact, a similar thing was actually happening in our real lives in the earlier days. We used to quarrel a lot. There were days when we wouldn't talk to each other. Our viewpoints never matched. But these days, we have stopped quarreling. Perhaps we have grown up (laughs). We have fought so much that there is hardly anything left to fight about. Have others asked you about your relationship with him? Yes. Several fans call us up and ask when we are getting married! But we have never thought of each other in that way. We both are just starting our lives. We both are concentrating on our work only. We have our own set of responsibilities. What if tomorrow Chaitanya turns around and proposes to you? The day that happens, I will give it a thought. Let's leave something to fate. If I were dating him, I would have proudly confessed to it. But yes, he has all the qualities that a girl would hunt in a man before falling in love. How is it working with so many girls in Kahiin To Hoga? Contrary to the belief that a woman cannot stand another woman, I think we have exceptional women in our cast. There is a lot of cohesiveness. We all are very comfortable with each other. Weren't you the first choice for the Lux commercial with Aishwarya Rai? My loss has been Shweta Agarwal's (Nikki of Dekho Magar Pyar Se) gain... When the Lux ad offer came along, I was already very busy with Kahiin To Hoga. It's okay. I am happy doing two serials that have made me a household name. Are you aiming to do films? You have the looks and the figure... I would love to work in films with respectable people. However no undersized or revealing outfits for me! |
