Hello everyone,
I'm glad that a lot of you are enjoying this fanfic. Anyways, I wanted to share some personal news with all of you: I'm graduating tomorrow! I've written the next to chapters, and there are a few traditional KZK scenes. Also, a lot of you would like to see Mukti and Vicky together...so I'll consider it. Enjoy!
CHAPTER 6
After much insistence, Prem agreed to go back to the hotel with Perna and change. In the meantime, Perna went to Mukti's room, who had fallen asleep late and was surprised to hear someone knocking on the door. She opened the door and found a drenched Perna with her eyes facing the floor.
Mukti: Chotima…what are you doing so early in the morning…come in.
Perna quietly took a few steps into the room. Mukti could tell that something had happened, but she waited for Perna to say something. Slowly, Perna lifted her head to look at Mukti. She then folded her hands and kneeled in front of a shocked Mukti, who immediately made her stand up again.
Mukti: Chotmi…what are you doing?
Perna: Please forgive me.
Mukti: For what?
Perna: I had promised myself that I wouldn't let any girl in my family go through what I had to go through; no one will become another Perna, but my own son put you through the pain that Anurag had once put me through.
Mukti: Chotmi…I don't understand…
Perna: I know about Asha…yesterday night Prem and I followed you and Vicky to her grave.
Mukti was absolutely stunned to hear this. She than lowered her eyes.
Perna: You shouldn't be the one to lower your eyes…it's my son's fault and our fault in some way that we didn't defend you…and now an innocent had to pay a price for that…please forgive us.
At that time, both Mukti and Perna embraced each other broke into tears. Perna's eyes were dried from crying the night before and she had to be strong for Mukti. Perna knew that only a mother can help her daughter cope with the pain of losing her child. When Mukti lost Asha, she did not have a mother's shoulder to cry on. Today Perna provided that support, and Mukti let out the latent pain that was inside of her for a long time.
After Mukti had finished sharing her pain with her Chotima, Perna told her how Prem had reacted, which took Mukti by surprise.
Perna: He was completely shattered…I used to think that Prem would always stay this way: cold and selfish, but one glimpse at his daughter's grave tore him apart…I know what he did to you was wrong, but I'm asking you to talk to him.
CHAPTER 7
Mukti knew that she would have to confront Prem sooner or later about this, so she decided to go meet him at Asha's grave. Upon her arrival, she noticed Prem sitting in front of Asha's tomb. He had lost all the attitude and stubbornness. She slowly walked behind him and stopped a few feet away from him. However, Prem felt her presence and turned around and stood up. For a few minutes, the two stared at each other. Eventually, Prem moved to the side, so Mukti can put the flowers she had for Asha. Mukti gently placed the white tulips a few inches away from the lilies Prem had brought. Prem and Mukti had their backs facing each other. Neither one of them knew what to say. Prem, however, broke the silence.
Prem: I know that I have lost the right to ask for forgiveness, and I understand why you didn't tell me about Asha.
Mukti: I just wanted to protect her…I couldn't even do that away from you.
Prem than turned around to face Mukti's back. He than gently grabbed her arm and made her face him.
Prem: Mukti, I know that I have no right over Asha, but I have one request for you…please let me help you find the man who did this to her…let me do this one thing for my daughter…please don't take this one right from me
Mukti: Okay, Prem…no one can change the fact that Asha was your blood, and you deserve to know who murdered her
Prem: Thanks…so why don't you start by telling me everything you know.
Mukti: As you know, I moved to Pune to have my delivery. I met Vicky here and we became good friends. On the day of the delivery, dad and Vicky took me to the hospital. I was unconscious for several hours. When I woke up, dad told me that my baby was dead. Vicky and I went to see her in the morgue. On our way back to my hospital room, we heard the doctor talking to someone on the phone. He was telling that person that he gave me the wrong medicine and caused my miscarriage. Vicky tried to catch him, but he ran away. We later learned that the doctor had booked a ticket for Mumbai. That's all.
Prem: Mukti, I know that I have never given you anything but pain…but I swear on my daughter that I will find whoever did this and put him at your feet.
Just then a strong wind blew out of nowhere. Prem and Mukti turned towards the Asha's tomb: both had felt as if their daughter had called out to them through this wind. Mukti turned around and started to walk away when she felt a pull on her white duppata. She turned around and saw that it was stuck to Prem's watch. Prem felt the soft piece of silk on his wrist. He saw his wrist and then looked up at Mukti. Again…the two got lost into each other's eyes. Prem eventually come out from his world and released Mukti's dupatta from his watch. The two then left together. A few seconds later, a stronger wind blew by forcing Mukti's tulips and Prem's lilies to mix into one bunch by Asha's tomb.
