Whether it is Shruti of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki or Mukti of Kasauti Zindagi Kay, actress Tina Parakh has been fortunate to bag the best of characters. Vivacious, spunky and brutally honest, Tina believes in calling a spade a spade. The actress, who resides with her parents at her 2,000 sq ft Juhu home, admits to being a complete homebody. "I'd rather laze around at home than party," she says. So home is where we head...
1. Touch wood
The tasteful split-level drawing room is the house's centre-stage. The family gathers for at least one meal in the dining section, where the chestnut brown furniture complements the wooden flooring. It's a home the Parakhs have occupied for the last 20 years.
2. Telly tubbies
As a kid this is how Tina would watch TV. This is the other section of the drawing room that has been converted into a TV room. Tina's nieces Kanishka and Anusha, sitting behind, are close to her heart. "But I feel that the younger one is more like me," she smiles.
3. Sleeping beauty
If Tina looks so comfortable in this bedroom, it's because this is where she has always relaxed and let her hair down, right from her school days. "I love to sleep, read and listen to music, in this room. I don't know why but I feel most secure and comfortable here." Probably because it belongs to her parents!
4. Hot wheels
She was a tomboy when she was young, and she hasn't completely grown out of her tomboyishness either. When the occasional urge to steal a spin around the compound strikes, Tina uses her niece's cycle for the cause... It doesn't matter that she has her own set of wheels now, she prefers ringing that metal bell to sounding the horn.
5. Shopper's stop
Tina, a self-confessed shopaholic says that she loves clothes, bags and watches. On her recent trip to Pakistan she bought a case full of kurtis and jootis. "But I am too lazy to unpack," she sighs. There are four suitcases that have been lying in their states of storage for months. "My family has warned me to clear the mess, or they'll let me have it!"
