Hey guys,

We often criticize the production houses especially BT for showing negative things, rapes, murders, alcoholism, physical abuse, harassments, extra-marital affairs, polygamy, kidnappings, multiple marriages and so many. Yes they are showing some extravagant things, but what they are showing is not completely wrong, they are nothing but mere reflections of our society.

Our society is so polluted that there is hardly any positivity left, instead of seeing that people [I mean society, including me] enjoy such things be it on T.V or films. I know it's purely for entertainment but still the mindless entertainment has a relevant effect on our minds.

Whatever is being shown on KS currently is not completely wrong.

A few days ago my father was telling me about his friend, his son is studying hotel management in Aurangabad and is drinking and smoking with his friends regularly, when he came to know that he reprimanded his son, but his son rudely lashed him out. That was a really upsetting news.

One of my classmates of 10th standard, a brilliant student, tried committing suicide in 11th standard because she was caught copying in the exams, in fact she drank a whole bottle of bathroom cleaner. Her father almost went into depression.

Recently the "Arushi Murder Case" where the father was suspected of murdering his own daughter, the veracity of the situation is yet to be proved though, but still.

Parents, who give us everything, the best of clothes, the best of education, and what they get in return, nothing, they are sent to old age homes. This so unfair!!! Today I feel really glad that I have never breached their trust like this.

There are so many, endless list.

We cannot completely blame the soaps for showing such things.

I don't know what is happening in the society, principles, morals, ethics are dying, and they are just flowing down the stagnated dirty drain.

I know it's not fair on you to be subjected to my frustration, but still these things are meant to be identified and pondered upon.

As the youth of the country, I am really ashamed of some of the facts regarding our society. As an Indian I am really proud but these things really upset me, probably one day I will be able to a bit for the society, I truly wish that.

I am sorry for going so overboard!!!!!

Would certainly like to know your comments!!!

God bless

Dhani

P.S.: please pray for a better and peaceful society.

Hi Vardhani:

Good post! I do want to say something positive about the society.

No news is good news! For every bad news article or personal anecdote there are hundreds of positive things that are happening a day. People never talk about them.

How many people talk about kids who are entering IITs, or good colleges, graduating at the top with honors, people with happy families going to the movies or parks. For media and gossipers, this is normal and good news. So they won't talk about it.

Yes, for every 100 good things, there is 1 bad thing that happens in the world.

But I am optimistic, everything is not bad in the world, and there is hope!

Every time, there is a new invention, a step forward, a charity org helping out a person in distress, I cheer...we all need to do our share in bringing the positive values...

Dhani you can't say all apples are bad if only is in the basket. It's the same with people. Not all kids are bad, its funny in KS it's shown that way. I know a family where of the three girls and two boys only one of the girl went down the wrong path, the rest are ok...this is what's missing in KS.

Sometimes you can talk to the kids and get them to change but sometimes it does not work and you have to leave them alone and hope somewhere along the line the realization dawns on them. There is a mounting pressures on kids to be like others, but hopefully most have had parents telling them what is good and what is bad and are strong enough to resist.

hey sheena,

completely agree with you, there are positive things happening, which are being unnoticed.
i was just trying to draw paralles between the Reel and real world.

even i am a very positive person, and i always hope for the best. sometimes so much negativity takes a toll on you.

as a person i try my level best to be a good if not the best daughter, sister, grand-daughter and of course a citizen. i follow most the rules and always buy my train ticket despite being getting late. 😛 😃

if people try they can definitely make this world a better palce, just that one step is required.

"if you want to go miles, then you have to begin with a single step!!!"

CHEERS!!!
😃 😛

god bless

So sorry to hear of those incidents those incidents happen everywhere all over the world its a sad fact that the worlds not perfect but everyone can do there best. Serials in some aspect can yes be reality and they are meant to be entertaining sometimes they can be but my view is why would you watch depressing stuff when theres so much going on already i mean i with a vengence avoid anything that freaks me out and has that affect i would rather watch vivah type film about goodness cheery than i am legend 😕 thats why i am happy enough see crazy stuff in serials than reality 😆 guess serials are a balance of both kind of especially ks current storyline with the kids.

👏 well said dear very well said Vardhani and i must agree 200% with you here..
One problem is that we've become a 'carefree n selfish' society sadly...
Yes, there is so much advancement and knowledge out there on fingertips 4 us today than there was years back, but along with it has increased vital issues that've impacted on humankind, our humanity, our values quite recklessly i must say...this 'success' is like cars that've advanced greately to amazingly faster n faster speeds with time, which's a very good advancement...yet it's like we're on a path w/ these great speeds and minus the brakes!!
Despite these 'great' knowledgable and technological achievements there'll be an increasingly amounts of destruction yet to come...and yes excelling students in academics, careers and respective fields is great...however, to look at where an overall path to mankind is going is a very sad look. Many lack a vision to see and comprehend this beautiful compassionate view and concern which you've displayed above...as 90% people evaluate success as by their own separate one than a universal one which reaches out to all. So, i cant consider this 'individual success' benefiting people in their life comforts where as the rest of humanity suffers...that is not success which one cannot share with their loved ones and do for others...
I'm glad to also read your last sentence where you hope and wish to create a difference...This type of though is surely amongst the "Rays of Hope" which may save us...and I hope I am able to also do something in such lines:-)
Also, you're very right that lately these serials show an ugly reality which we're not able to digest but it is infact what's out there today! (yea they go overboard at times but moreoff the nature and acts of people are very much related to the ugliness which has engulfed many many people!
Thanks for the nice post...informative yet inspiring! 👍🏼
wishes and luv,
Harmoni:-)

Dear Dhani,

Very good post. Every morning when we open the newspapers we read all these kind of news. Arushi's case, the children sex scandal near Noida and of course in today's paper an aged woman has no takes lying on the hospital bed alone in spite of giving birth to 6 sons...These news bring tears in the eyes, breaks the heart...I know some reality need to be shown to bring out the interest or lets say to build the story, but for last 6 months, KS has shown as nothing to bring smile on our face, everyday we are reading about these incidents and if we have to see it in soap that too for so long, I have problems, I want to forget about my problems for sometime even for 1/2 an hour every day...I have no problems with reality but after two reality episode there should be one episode which will bring smile on our lips...Just my thoughts...

I also like your response of nice acknowledgment of this 'sad situation' and your solution of getting inspired by the 'happy go lucky' movies like Vivah...
You're right that serials n movies show a balance of good and bad of today, and girl some of the extreme bad i'm glad i havent seen/experienced first hand thank God! lolz...
Hopefully we all can have an eye-awaking points through such movies n serials in a positive manner! That'd be truly very nice...look at all Rajshri films from Maine Pyar kiya, Hum aapke hain kaun, Hum saath saath hain, to Vivah and the ones from back in the days...i mean the values and happiness of family and goodness are just amazing...if only we could all start down that path! I enjoyed both ur n Virdani's views...
wishes n cheerz!

Tintiny...look at how much we desire to see this good happiness of things for even a little bit on TV even...just to escape some bitterness of our lives...and your honesty is good honey because i do believe "Nanak Dukhiya Sabh Sansar"...yes we can and are handling the negative situations in our lives w/ a positive attitude...but there's no denying that some form of sad situation of different degree exists w/ 99% of people today..
What i was gonna say was imagine if through a change we had such happiness in our lives where the tiny negative issues wouldnt even be noticed! and we wouldnt need 2 even look or search this escape of happiness elsewhere...such isnt the case though and i understand and feel your thought..
good point dear:-)
luv,
Harmoni
