It was pouring rain outside. A quiet and deserted road, with no one for miles around. The only thing you could see is a young girl running and a man running behind her. It was slippery and the girl fell. With the man only a few meters away from her, she gathered all of her strength, got up and started running again. She hadn't noticed that a car was coming in the distance, and when she looked ahead all she saw where lights in her face. The next thing you knew, she was on the ground bleeding like crazy. A man got out of the car and saw a girl laying in front of his car bleeding. When he looked up, he saw a man running away. He picked up the girl and put her in his car and drove her to the nearest hospital.
The man was walking back and forth hoping that nothing has happened to her. He saw the doctor come out and he went up to the doctor.
Jai:
How is she?Doctor:
She is fine now...(Jai sighed in relief) but...Jai:
But...but what doctor?Doctor:
She has a plaster on 1 leg, and has suffered from severe head injuries. We will be able to get a better idea of what her condition is when she is conscious. We will have to wait and see.Jai:
Thank you doctor.Jai went inside her room and just sat there and stared at her. He felt so bad that she is this condition because of him. After a few hours he was about to fall as sleep when he felt something. He looked at his hand that covered hers and that her hand had started to move. Jai quickly removed his hand and ran out the room and called the doctor.
The doctor came inside and told Jai to wait outside while he examined her. While he was examining her, the girl started to move more and she had opened her eyes. She saw a strange man in front of her staring at her.
Doctor:
How are you feeling now?Girl: Where am I? How did I get here?
Doctor:
You just had an accident and now you are in the hospital.Girl:
(She just looked at the doctor in disbelief) Who... how... why? (She didn't know what to do)Doctor:
Just relax. The man standing outside had brought you here. You had an accident with his car.Girl:
(She was just blank at the moment. She looked at the man who brought her here.) Can I meet him?Doctor:
Sure... for now just rest and you will be fine. You don't need to worry about anything. If you need anything just tell me.The doctor came outside and told Jai that she wanted to see him. Before he went inside, the doctor said that make sure that she doesn't have any stress right now because she has just been through an accident and her brain needs time to adjust to what just happened to her. Jai nodded and knocked on the door.
Girl:
Come in.Jai just opened the door and saw her looking at him with a blank expression on her face. He came and sat down beside her.
Jai:
how are you feeling now?Girl:
I am fine, but my head hurts a lot.Jai:
don't worry, you will be fine. Just relax.Girl:
How did all of this happen? I mean who are you?Jai:
My name is Jai Walia. You were running on the road and I couldn't see anything because of the rain and I suddenly saw you in front of my car and I hit you by accident.She was starting to remember everything. Slowly, everything was coming back to her.
Jai:
What is your name?Girl:
Bani...Bani DixitJai couldn't help but think that, that name sounded so familiar to him. He broke out of his thoughts when he heard Bani talking.
Bani: I am so sorry about giving you so much trouble and...
Jai:
No its ok. It was actually my fault and because of me you are in this condition...Bani:
No its ok. Don't worry about me. In fact you saved me by getting into an accident with me.Jai:
(He just stared at her with a confused expression on his face) What do you mean?Bani:
(She came out of her thoughts) huh...nothing...just forget about it.Jai:
Do you have anybody you can call for help? I mean, any family member that can come and get you?Bani was on the verge of tears remembering everything before her accident.
Bani:
I...have no one...that I can...call...no one that... I can call my own...(She said in between sniffles)Jai:
(He just looked at her completely shocked) how come? Everyone should have someone to call their own.Bani didn't say anything but just turned away and hid her tears.
Jai:
Ok, forget about all of this and just go to sleep. Its late now and you need some rest. Good night.Jai went over and slept on the couch in the room. When he went to sleep, Bani just looked at him and thinking that why did he have to save her and bring her here. Why did she have to live? For what? She have anything or anyone left in this world. Slowly sleep came over her and she drifted into a deep sleep.
The next morning had come. Jai woke up and saw that Bani was still sleeping. He went out of the room quietly and carefully so that he didn't wake her. When he came out of the room, he saw the doctor and asked him if Bani can go home. The doctor said yes just as long as she gets complete bed rest for the next few weeks and then she might be able to start walking.
Jai said thank you and left from there. He went to go and get food for Bani and himself and came back. When Jai came back, see saw that Bani was still as sleep. He sat on the couch and ate his food and waited for Bani to get up.
A couple of hours later Bani woke up and saw Jai reading a magazine. Jai looked up and saw that Bani had finally got up. He took the food to her and told her to eat something as she didn't eat anything since last night. Bani hesitated at first, but after Jai laterally shoving the food in her mouth, she finally ate. When she finished eating, the doctor came in to check up on her. He said that she can go home now and that she has to be very careful and se has to take care of herself. He said that she will have to use a wheelchair for a few days until she is mentally and physically able to do stuff on her own.
When the doctor left the room, Jai asked Bani if he can drop her to her house. Bani just froze when he asked her that. She just said that she had no where to go so, Jai just took Bani to his house. When Jai drove to his house and got out of the car, he helped Bani out of the car. When she saw the house she was in shock.
They had gotten to the door and Jai rang the door bell since Bani was in a wheelchair and Jai had all the luggage and everything. When the door opened, Bani saw an old aged woman standing there looking completely shocked at the sight in front of her.
Mausi:
Jai, what happened? Who is she?...Jai:
Mausi, first let us inside and then I will tell you everything.They came inside the Walia mansion. Bani was just looking around at how big the house was. She had always lived in a small house so all this was new for her.
Jai took Bani upstairs and brought her to her room. He helped her off the wheelchair and put her on the bed and made sure she was comfortable.
Jai:
From now on you will stay here. Now you need to rest and if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. You can meet everyone else once you are well rested and relaxed.He shut the door and went downstairs to see a pair of eyes looking at him waiting for an answer. Jai told Mausi everything that happened and that Bani will be staying here for a few days until she finds her family and she gets better. Mausi was proud that her Jai was taking responsibility for what he has done and is helping Bani out a lot.
Back in Bani's room, she was crying and just thinking that she doesn't want to stay here. She is afraid that they will hurt her the way the that animal did to her whole family. She has nobody in this world and doesn't have reason to live. Thinking about this she was just crying and after she just went to sleep.
