Ekta Kapoor Ekta Kapoor is all set to hark back to the mother of all drama. She has decided to film the Mahabharat. And she's obviously planning to do it on a magnum scale. The show is expected to star all the top actors of the Balaji stable. It will go on the floors in the last week of February or the first week of March and will be aired mid-2008, on one of the recently-launched TV channels. Even Ekta Kapoor has a first, after all these years in the TV industry. This will be her first attempt at mythology. Our well-placed source says, "Ekta is filming the Mahabharat. And, knowing her, she will not leave any stone unturned to make it one of the biggest shows of our time. The preparations for the shoot are already underway and Ekta has already started speaking to all the major actors in Balaji. It will be a daily and will have a huge budget." Our source has some of the names of the stars too. "Some of the actors who Ekta has already spoken to include Chetan Hansraj, Naman Shaw, Ronit Roy, Shabbir Aluwalia, Aamir Ali, Jay Bhanushali, Karan Patel, Ram Kapoor and Hiten Tejwani. She has also spoken to Gauri Pradhan and Saakshi Tanwar. However it is yet unclear who will play the five Pandavas and the important characters among the Kauravas. The character of Krishna will be finalised soon," says the source. When contacted, Ekta Kapoor refused to comment on her grand plan. Incidentally Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is also making the Mahabharata, which will also go on air at around the same time. There are also reports of the Ramayan being remade by the Sagars.

Guys i went to kayamath's IF side and they had this artical called mahabharat at balaji i don't know how to put that artical on ks side because it mention ekta is planing to make mahabharat and all the top balaji actors will be their and she ask ram kapoor, shabhir, jay bhanushali, amir ali, chatan hanshraj, ronit roy, hitel etc and also thinking of gauri pradhan and sakshi tanvar as well. This show would be show by mid 2008 and krishna will be finallise soon.

If any boby can copy this artical from kayamath side and please do so because i don't know how to.

thanks geeta...as it is we see lot of mahabharat in her shows...noe we'll get to see the real mythological stories...all big balaji stars will be there...mmm..how is she going to do justice to all? ..

Just think about it all the actors like ram and ronit, hiten are always in suit and now we will see them in dhoti and mugat and all getup it would be fun to just look at it. Just wondering who will be panchali?

So Ram might be busy with other show too? Looks like Ekta wants to put Kasam Se off ai. With JAi Meera her plan will be sucessful.

I wonder if it will be set as a costume drama or as a theme for a new serial. I somehoe can't see any of the above mentioned guys bare chested with colourful dhoti's and costume jewellery.

I would love to see Ram as Krishna. He's got those mischivous eyes and would play the role to the T. That way they could show Prachi as either Rukhmani his wife.

Or maybe he could be Arjun. That way Prachi could be Subhadra (Krishna's sister) and the lasy that Arjun fell inlove with and then married.

I have seen Mahabharta and enjoyed it so much. I'm sure I can still remember the whole story in detail.

I can't wait to see Ram in Mahabharta. I think he'l be great as Krishna or Arjun.

Maybe then if we have months of Jai and Meera scenes I can just watch Ram in another show.

I wonder what channel she would air it on. It mentions a new one. Not fair!!! We don't get most of the new channels.
