So I am back to updating after a long gap… Not having seen Kasam Se since the past 2 weeks I hope the new avatar is nice…gets me hooked on again!
Here is the update, Enjoy!😊
The episode has started in such a way, presented in a way, as if it is a new serial. The sun is rising and the streets of Meerut (why have they chosen this city?). Bani is shown walking on the streets, reminiscing, thinking of her life here. She says that now this is her town, her home, Meerut. She says that her life is just like it was years ago, it is a new beginning. She has a new name and a new identity, her new name is Maithali. She has her Maasi, who left and broke all relations to be with her and she has her daughter Ganga. She says that it is said when God can't be present himself he sends an angel down, Ganga is her angel. She says that what she shares with her daughter is something more precious than anything in the world. Bani then says she lives on a street which they call Shaadi Street and in an even smaller house, but she is happy because that is where her entire family, her entire world resides, her Maasi and her Ganga. She is shown going towards a mandir and she says that people say that this temple grants every wish. She wishes that whatever little happiness is written in her destiny should be given to her daughter. She says that she is like Sita, she survives with or without her Ram but she does survive. Maybe her destiny is to be without her Ram. She says that sometimes with everything in your life you are lonely and sometimes with the bare minimum you are happy in life. Her face is shown as she puts down the Pooja thali.
A man gives a 50 rupee note to Ganga who checks it out and then checks her accounts and tells the man that he owes them 50 more, since the account states Rs. 100. He says he knows that but he has spoken to her mother and she has agreed to let him pay little by little. Maasi is looking at her with a twinkle in her eyes and a smile on her face. Bani comes and they wish each other Happy Diwali and then asks Ganga who taught her the accounts of the Dhaba they run. Ganga says Maasi did and she questions Maasi about that. She tells Bani that it is the fault of the school that gives so many holidays that Ganga's questions don't stop, thus she taught her the accounts. Ganga on the other hand says that it is good she learnt them cos when she grows up she is the one who has to handle the dhaba.
In the mean time a man says that the takhurian is calling all of them to pay the rent of this month and she should also come. Maasi asks Bani if she has enough money to which Bani says she has 5000, out of which she will give 4000 as rent and the remaining 1000 she will spend on buying things for Ganga and Maasi. Ganga asks for a lot of crackers. Maasi says that even though Bani gives the rent every month, the thakurian asks for it and says they haven't given it, she says that 7 months rent is remaining and tells her that she will take away all the money. Bani says she is strict but good hearted. Bani goes to the thakurian and gives the 4000 and is then bombarded with taunts and she is thus compelled to give the remaining money also. Maasi sees all this from a distance.
Back at the dhaba while Bani is going about the usual business, Maasi starts singing 'Hum to aise hai bhaiya' from Laga Chunari mein daag and the whole song is danced on by her, Ganga and the people of the neighbourhood. (Nicely done!) In one part of the song, Bani writes down Atharva and Krishna's names on her palm and she has a tear in her eye.
Bani comes to Maasi and tells her that she has found a solution to all their monetary problems, since the bill for the catering they did last month comes to 13000. She immediately decides to go to the man who owes her money and asks Ganga to give her crackers list, which Ganga has already prepared. When Bani reaches the man's house, she is faced with harsh reality that they have left town and shifted to Kolkata since they were under debt and their shop wasn't doing. She is disillusioned and in a dilemma as to how to go back and face Ganga.
Ganga is waiting with Maasi for Bani to return and she asks Maasi what has taken Bani so long, to which Maasi replies that she had given such a long list that it takes time. Ganga's friends come and ask her to join them in playing with crackers but she says she will come once her mother gets the crackers. Bani comes at last and Ganga gets excited and asks about the crackers. Just as Bani is about to tell her she couldn't get them Ganga tells her that she will get her water since she must be tired. Bani tells Maasi that she couldn't get the crackers and she is bad since she can't even fulfill such a small wish of her daughters. Maasi tells her that she is like Sita was to LuvKush. She has taught Ganga how to fight life, how to be a good person and how to survive in all circumstances. She tells Bani that she should just tell Ganga the truth since she will understand.
Ganga hears this standing behind the door and wipes out her tears and goes to Bani. She gives Bani the water and when Bani tells her she is sorry she couldn't get the crackers, Ganga says that is good since she wanted to tell Bani that she would not be bursting them anyway since she saw a program on television where Amitabh Bachchan says that it is harmful to burst crackers and it creates pollution. They hug and Bani is proud of her daughter. She tells Bani that they should eat hot food in their dhaba and then sleep and Bani leaves to prepare something to eat. Maasi asks Ganga to wish for anything to the stars cos it will be heard. She wishes that one day there be the most light in her house.
Just then the lights go on and Daksh comes with a bagful of crackers and tells Ganga (he calls her G) that they should get down to business since the night will end but their crackers won't. Ganga in turn tells him (she calls him D) that if Bani comes she will get mad to which he says nothing will happen and they start lighting the candles. Bani comes out and they stop bursting them.
Daksh follows Bani in and questions her as to why won't he let Ganga burst crackers with him. He tells her that G is his friend and that there relationship is not because of her. Bani tells him that she doesn't have any problem with their relationship but she wants Ganga to have only that much that her mother can give her. He tells her that he was married to her sister and she left him, maybe Ganga is destined to be without a father and him without a child. He says that he has seen Ganga since she was a child and if he wants to give her some love what is Bani's problem in that. Bani tells him that she wants Ganga to know that happiness is not equated with money and that it is not necessary to have everything, not everyone does have everything, but everyone has something. Daksh leaves.
Ganga comes and puts Bani to sleep and then goes over to the Mandir in their house to pray. She then looks up at the stars and says that she has never seen her father and misses his presence. Whenever she asked Bani about him, she started crying and has thus stopped asking. She says maybe her mother also doesn't know where he is. She says that Maasi says that if you wish on stars it comes true so today she wishes that the light shines so bright that her father knows she is remembering him. She says she misses her Daddy a lot and maybe he never came cos even he doesn't know where they are. She is rubbing her nose and Jai is shown (looking really good, from whatever they say, Sam and Navs don't faint!) rubbing the up of his nose and then taking his fingers along it. His hair is longer and his eyes sharper.
The episode ends on his eyes.
Take care,
Shruti
