Chapter 2

Jai Walia shakes his head in dismay and walks out….when Roshni is in that mood, no amount of logic is good enough…it is best the idea dies its own death…

Roshni & he studied together in college. They fell in love during their 2nd year and wanted to get married from the beginning…Though Jai found Roshni a bit eccentric at times but he loved her spirit and her big heart..she could give away her things without batting an eyelid, be it her jewelry, her clothes etc…a bit tactless at times but a good person in general. Look wise she was a stunner. Heads turned when she walked past but the best thing was that she was not too conscious of that fact.

Bani went into the toilet taking her change…the train will reach within next half an hour…she changed from jeans and top to Salwar Kameez, well buaji will be there, she doesn't like to see girls in jeans and skirt, Mumbai me dekh dekh kar hum ubh gaye…and they have been taught not to displease her

Their house was decorated and looking lovely, all relatives have come, the children were having good fun…..Inspite of short notice, things were arranged perfectly, buaji was delighted, yes she was proud of her family, she never wanted them to work for anybody else but be their own masters. Her brothers are doing well and they give her their utmost respect. ….she refused to marry when malkin died saying the kids needed her, Jigyasa was about 10 but it was Jai who could not do without her, infact when he was small he always came with her whenever she happened to visit her house. The family waited for her to marry for 7/8 years, after which they were convinced she will not marry, then they married off their eldest son Nishikant…

Jai watched the farms go by, it reminded him about his childhood, he had fun while he visited the village with Ma, her brothers and their wives doted on him…often taking him around the village on their shoulders…as he grew up due to his schooling and exams, he stopped coming…yes the village has changed, he could see latest advertisements and hoardings at the main square, but once the fields started the old flavour came back…it was a good decision to come, he had to shuffle his meetings to accommodate…his wished Roshni also accompanied but Roshni was scared of mosquitoes and snakes…he smiled…Roshni and her ideas, she really can be a crack pot at times…he thought lovingly…

The car took a curve, and he saw the stream flowing by, it reminded him about some wonderful memories, he used to come to bathe…he asked the driver to stop…got down and walked towards it…it was a lonely spot, he breathed the fresh air….suddenly he heard shrills of laughter…a group of girls bathing in the stream….and one of them was teasing them, pulling them in, pushing them deeper, the girls were shouting and trying to hold the girl down, who was getting away everytime…..areh Bani…rukh ja….theek hai…kaha jayegi… …Jai saw the girl getting out of the water fully wet, laughing, Jai turned to leave, well he has reached the age where he shouldn't be ogling at girls….

Everybody welcomed Jai, earlier he was a little boy now a big businessman he noticed a little reservation on their part…..they gave him the best room to stay…

Jai changed and came down, he looked handsome in kurta pajama…he came and stood besides his ma….the girl who collided was dressed and running about doing different chores….

Yeh ladki kaun hai, Ma...he pointed out….

Woh Bani hai, beta….

Bani?

Tu sab bhul jata hai, nishikant ki dusri beti....inspite of not want wanting his eyes follow her…Dai Ma watches him….

Bani admired herself in the mirror, she only wished she could show herself to Pushkar, she has yet to disclose it to her family, infact she wanted to bring him, but she coming with a man friend, well her family will have their reservations…but she will have her pictures taken, she will show them to him, …baas aur kuch hi dinno ka baath hai, after she is out of college…the Hotel Management Institute…

Bani steps out of the room to wait for the barat to arrive….as she goes down the stairs she sees the men of the house in one corner, well she knows what is going on, they are having country liquor…

Areh Jai beta piyo piyo…tum abh bare ho gaye ho, bass didi ko math batana, she could hear her father's voice…she hopes nobody creates any scenes, her youngest uncle was famous for it….

Jai was feeling a little tipsy while taking pictures, Bani had come upto him a little while ago and told her to specially take hers as her friends from college wanted to see them as they could not join due to their forthcoming examinations…..as Jai was taking the photographs, Bani was posing intelligently without being obvious….Jai did not know that someone was watching them carefully…….

The wedding was over, Bani wanted to see the photographs taken by him, he was playing the same back on his digital camera for her to see, after she nodded her approval, she gave her email address, for him to post the same…

Keya baath hai munna, Bani keya bol rahi thi….

Kuch nehi Ma, she wants me to post her photographs at her email addresses…

Tujhe maaza a rahe hai na beta….

Ha ma bahut maaza a rahe hai, infact mai sooch raha tha, why didn't I get married in this manner…it would have been great fun…much more than the registry wedding I had…

Tu karle na phirse…

Keya matlab aapka…

Roshni jo usdin keh rahe thi…

Jai tried to shake off his tipsy feeling, am I hearing correctly, he thought….Ma apka dimaag keya kharab ho gaya…Roshni ko aap nehi jante hai keya…

Janti hu aur maine mehsoos kiya hai, ki who saach bol rahi thi, woh bhi yehi chahati...dekh beta mai janti hu ki tujhe bachche kitne pasand hai, tujhe Jigyasa ke bachche se kitna lagao hai aur tujhe aapna bachcha bhi chahiye….

Dekho Ma, there are so many couples who do not have children, we are just one of them….

Mai manti hu, lekin Roshni keh rahi hai na…mai jab phone kiya tha ghar me kaal tu a raha hai ki nehi janne ke liye tabh bhi usne kaha ki woh istehar dene ki soch rahi hai…maine kisi tarah usko samjhaya…lekin jo baath woh bol rahi hai usme uska sachai hai…dekh tu toh janta hai ki mai aur Roshni matlab ek dusre ko jaida pasand nehi karte…phir bhi uski yeh baath mujhe …

Ma mere bare me socho, kaun ladki ek shaadi shuda admi ke saath shaadi karega aur keya mai uss ladki ko uska sahi hak de sakunga kiyuki mere liye Roshni will always be the first…

Baas itne hi baath hai, agar mai koi ladki le ayu tu shaadi karlega aur mai tujhe se wada karti hu woh ladki tere aur Roshni ke beech me nehi ayegi….

Before Jai could say anything, Buaji was called away to bless the newly wedded couple….

Great part Jayati! The story so far progressing very well. So Jai met Bani and wanted to send photographs of Bani taken by him her e-mail address😉. Wondering if Jai would agree with his ma's decision to get married for the second time. I think Bani would be his second wife. Waiting for weekend special😃

Bani as the second wofe...woah! Can't wait to see how the story progresses Tin...for sure Jai's going to fall madly in love with her and I can anticipate the fireworks 😉 I'm sure that n your ff Jai will behave a lot differently from the repulsive behaviour that Ranveer has been exhibiting in KS...

Hmm...so things have taken a turn for JW. Not only has he come for the wedding but he has also seen Bani and can't seem to stop admiring her. Buaji has noticed their interaction with great interest and it did not come as a surprise when she broached the subject of Jai's second marriage.

I know that Bani will become Jai's second wife but what I did not like was that Buaji took the decision herself and did not stop to even consider her own niece's feelings. How could she just end up saying "agar mai koi ladki le ayu tu shaadi karlega aur mai tujhe se wada karti hu woh ladki tere aur Roshni ke beech me nehi ayegi…." 😕 Seems like Bani's hopes of marrying her love Pushkar will simply die down.
