I want to thank everyone for all the feedback on the last part.. sorry i wont be able to thank you all individually. I was going to write more but after seeing Shobha leave the forum i'm not feeling upto writing more this time so i'm posting what i had written thus far. Will try and post the next one as soon as i can.

Part 16

Jaiiiiiiiiiiiiii screamed Bani as she saw Jai fall down, his hands went up as if calling her. She rushed to him, bending down "Jai , Jai aankhen kholo.. tum nahi tumhe kuch nahi hoga, Jai .. koi meri madat karo" sobbing she lifted his head and cradled it in her arms. Jai opened his eyes lifting his hand which was drippin with blood, he touched her forhead he said semiconsciously. He had unknowingly marked her his. Bani was delighted to see him open his eyes but soon his eyes closed and he fainted in her arms. She didn't know what to do, a crowd had gathered around them but no one came out to help fearing a police case, no one wanted to get involved. Bani cried pleading for someone to call an ambulance: someone please call an ambulance, and soon there were sirens heard as an ambulance approached the accidednt scene, Jai was lifted on the stretcher, Bani held his hand as they were taking him in.

Attendent: aap andar nahi aa sakti.

Bani not leaving his hand 'nahi meh meh Jai ko chor ke kahin nahin jaungi..please mujhe saath jaana hai."

Attendent: Mam its against the rules.

Bani begged: please I can't, aap samajhne ki koshish kariye meh isse chor ke nahi jayungi

Looking at her state the attendant's heart melted 'ok get in we need to get him to the hospital.'

All the way sitting besides him she held on to his hand, there was a oxygen mask on his mouth helping him to breathe, and all sorts of wires were attached to him monitoring his vitals. Her heart pounded everytime the machine would beep and make a ugly sound.

"what happened, aise awaz kyun ho rahi hai.. mera Jai theek hai na" Bani

Attendent: His pulse is fluctuating, don't worry we're almost at the hospital, he'll be fine, have faith. The attendent didn't know what to say, looking at the patients condition he knew there would be a lot of complications in the case but he didn't have the heart to tell it to the girl sitting in front of him, holding on to her husbands hand for her life, he assumed.

Once at the hospital Jai was immediately taken in the emergency unit, and Bani had to let go off Jai's hand as they wheeled him inside for some tests.

Bani stood still at the spot for God knew how long, where she had let go of Jai's hand, she stirred when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She gasped with fright only to see a young doctor looking back at her.

Dr. Muskan: hi, Dr. Muskan aap inke saath hain jinhe abhi laya gaya hai?

Bani nodded

Dr. Muskan: ayeh mere saath

Bani: doctor Jai

Dr Muskan didn't want to give her false hopes.. aap

Bani: Bani

Dr Muskan: Bani he is critical

Her eyes became blurry with tears again dreading the thought of loosing Jai "yeh sub meri wajeh se hua hai.. she kept repeating"

Dr Muskan couldn't get the cream of what she said: Bani I need you to fill out some paperwork, we need to operate on him soon, jitney der hogi khatra utna hi bharega.

Bani: usse kya hua hai

Dr Muskan: Bani for now from the results all I can tell you is he has got multiple fractures, though that's not our concern right this moment I'm more worried about his internal bleeding

Bani took in a deep breath walking back and hitting the wall behind: internal bleeding

Dr Muskan took a step towards her, giving her a friendly pat: Bani tumhe himmat se kaam lena hoga, hume jald se jald operation karna hai.. you need to be strong for him.

Bani: woh theek toh hojayega

Dr Muskan: Bani we will try our best, baki bhagwan ke haath meh hai, here are the papers. Basically they are just consent papers for us to go ahead for the surgery and incase we need to do a blood transfusion you don't have any objection.

Bani filled out the necessary documentation, but when it came to signing the documents she looked at the categories present not knowing what else to do she signed as his wife.

Dr Muskan taking the papers: Bani tum bahar waiting room me jao I'll come and talk to you once we're out..and don't worry I'll take care of him.

Bani gave her a nervous nod, and walked in the direction the doctor had pointed her. She came across a small temple, going near it she joined her palms: hey bhagwan mere Jai ke raksha karna, usse kuch ho gaya toh meh khud ko maaf nahi kar sakungi..meh kyun wahan se bhaagi! Usse kuch ho gaya toh meh mar jayungi… Jai ko theek kardo bhagwan, mere Jai ko theek kardo. Meh Ma ko kya jawab dungi.. thinking of them she knew she had to let them know, they had to know! "Nahi meh yeh nahi karsakti… shutting her eyes tightly, but she knew she had to tell them.' With a heavy heart she picked up the courtesy phone on the wall and with trembling fingers dialed the home number.

Ring Ring

Anu: hello

Bani: A-aanu

Anu: Bani tu kahan hai tu, pata hai hum kitne pareshaan hain.. kitne der ho gayi tu aaur bhai kahan ho..

Bani choked

Anu: Bani tu ro rahi hai.. kyu hua bol na Bani mujhe daar lag raha hai sub theek hai na

Bani: Anu kuch theek nahi hai, sub meri galti hai breaking down again

Anu with great courage: Bani saaf saaf bata kya baat hai

By now Krishna and Uday too had come nect to her asking her what was going on! Anu signaled them she's asking

Bani: Anu tum jaldi se lelavati hospital aajao.

The receiver dropped from her hand picking it up: Bani kya hospital magar kyun tu theek hai na..

Bani: Anu Jai Jai

Anu: Bhai kya hua, bhai ko

Krishna: Jai she took the reciver from her hand 'Bani beta kya hua Jai ko'

Bani: Ma Ma aap jaldi aaoh yahan Ma mujhe bahut daar lag raha hai and kept the phone down.

Krishna was having a panic attack but she held her heart, Bani needed her and if her heart was any indication her son too needed her.. Uday jaldi chalo, and they all rushed out towards the hospital, where a glum Bani sat trying to convince herself that everything would be ok.
