"I never thought that I would meet someone who was so hard to forget."

"Do you think that you can turn up one hour late for an interview and that you will still get a job? Do you think that its because your qualifications are soo amazing that I'll hire you straight away, without worrying that you have no concern for time? I don't think so." Jai shouted, he was well and truly worked up - he hated people who had no regard for time.
"Sir, I was late, because I was helping an old lady who fell down the mandir steps. I have a high regard for time and am extremely sorry for being late," Bani said softly.
"Aah, so I was wrong about you. Its not your qualifications that you want me to see, but your good deeds (laughing without humour), sorry Miss. Bani Dixit, but the real world does not exist on good deeds alone, and I don't need a Mother Teresa on my staff, so you can get out now," Jai said, glaring angrily at her.
Bani opened her mouth to say something, but thought better of it. She didn't need to work with a man who had no idea about human suffering, and doing the right thing. She felt tears prick her eyes, but hurriedly blinked them away - she was not going to cry over a stupid mans harsh words. She was sorry about the job, because it came with a good salary, and the money would have been more than enough to take care of both Rano and Pia's college fees. Now she had to get home and start cooking.
Jai Walia strode with great arrogance down the halls of his offices, he was on his way home and had spent an annoying day interviewing stupid people for a job that they weren't remotely qualified for. The only one that had been was that Bani Dixit, but she had no work ethic, so she wasn't needed on his staff. He got into his sleek black Mercedes and pulled away from the curb. He was heading home and still had a lot of work to do - he had yet to finalize the launch of his new business. As he slowed down at a red light, Jai caught sight of Bani Dixit waiting at the bus stop. She had on a light pink salwaar kameez, and had beautiful long hair, for a minute an image flashed in his mind of that long hair wrapped around him and those brown eyes filled with passion for him, their bodies twined as one, as they reached ecstasy. The car behind him blazed his horn at him, breaking the image in his mind. Jai drove off still thinking about that image.

At home Jai was the master and everyone around him did his bidding. As he walked in his butler Tony came to take his briefcase and jacket. Than he would head upstairs, take a shower and change into chino's and a shirt - even at home he dressed semi-formal. Than he would go downstairs to have dinner, every member of the family would be waiting for him; his older sister Jigyasa, her three children - Ranveer, Sahil and Anu, Jigyasa's ex-husband and Jai's best friend Aditya, Daadi, Aditya's mother and Masi, who was like a mother to him. As he sat at the table, he noticed that Massi was missing.
"Jigyasa, where is Massi?" Jai asked.
"Jai Bhaiya, don't get upset, but today when Massi went to the Mandir, she fell down and hurt herself, so she is resting upstairs. Its lucky that a young girl helped her to the hospital, than she called me and waited with Massi until I arrived, but Massi is fine," Jigyasa said hurriedly.
Jai got up and went running up the stairs immediately worried. Jai did not care for many people in the world - he cared only for his family, but he especially cared for Massi, because she had brought him up since his mother passed away when he was seven years old. Running into her room, he saw her lying down on the bed, but she opened her eyes when she heard all the noise that he made. Her face lit up with a smile.
"Arey munna tum? Why are you running around like that?" Massi questioned from her beloved son.
"Massi, look at you, kya haal banaya hai aap ne? I've told you so many times that if you want to go to the mandir than take someone with you, I was so worried when Jigyasa told me that you had hurt your self," Jai said, scolding Massi. Massi smiled gently at him, and let him rant and rave, as he sat down on the bed, his tantrum over.
"Munna, main teek hoon, I was lucky that this girl came and helped me, she was getting late for her interview, but still she helped, when no one else would. Aisi log ab kahan milte hain? And she had such a pretty name; Bani,"
Jai's head shot up at the name that Massi had mentioned, could it be the same Bani?
"Massi, do you know her full name? I would like to call and say thank you," Jai questioned.
Massi nodded, "Haan, her name is Bani Dixit, she is such a sanskari girl, her parents have brought her up well."
After telling Massi to rest, Jai went down to dinner, but thoughts of Bani Dixit conquered his mind - so much so that he didn't even notice Sahil and Anu's bickering, he normally hated noise on the dinning table, preferring to eat in silence. After dinner he made his way to his study, where he filled a tumbler with whiskey and sat down to work - yet thoughts of Bani Dixit still conquered his mind. Since it was Massi that Bani had saved, maybe he could make an exception this time, as a thank you. Making up his mind, he pulled out her file and found her home number and dialled.
