Hey guys,
Thanks a lot for all those comments and I will surely reply to them as they have touched my hearts. I haven't had anyone in my family go through something like this either (Thank God for that). I can only imagine the pain the family and friends as well as the patient has to go through and it makes me sad as well as makes me want to applaud for those patients that are able to fight back and come out as winners. I pray for all those patients out there and hope that they find exactly what they need.
Here is the update, hope you like it.

Jai had read the entry almost a million times… he smiled as he read the parts she wrote about her brother, her bhabi, her best friend…
When it came to what she wrote about him, he knew in a way it was good it showed that she had such a big heart. He needed her to continue writing as that was the only connection he had to her life. The day after he had admitted Bani into the hospital, he had left the city and gone abroad to America to work for his father's company and pay him back. He buried himself into his work.
It had almost been a week when Ranveer called him.
Ranveer: Jai?
Jai: How did you get this number? Is everything okay?
Ranveer: Doctors say there is no chance left, Jai.
The glass in Jai's hands fell onto the ground breaking into million pieces demonstrating exactly how his heart felt.
Jai: What do you mean?
Ranveer: The chemotherapy here is not working and the doctors say the only option left is to try a bone marrow transplant.
Jai: Then try it… why wait?
Ranveer: It's not that easy. For a transplant like that we would need a donor and India doesn't even have a registry to check if there are any matches.
Jai: Then bring her here, goddammit.
Ranveer: Even America only has a few South Asians registered and the chances of a donor matching is 1 in every 20,000. There are so few South Asians that the chances are minimal and Bani says that if she has to die, she would rather die in India.
Jai: Why the hell are you listening to her at a time like this? I don't freaking care, just bring her here, I will make some connections in one of the best hospitals here and we will try to find her a match.
Ranveer: Well, I will try convincing her.
Jai: No, if she doesn't agree, then just slap her once and bring her here. She has no choice in this matter.
After Ranveer and Jai made arrangements on coming to America, they both hung up and Jai tried to connect to one of the best hospitals in California, where he was staying.
In India
Bani: Bhaiya, why don't you understand? There is no use going there. I mean if the chances are little, I don't want to risk it.
Ranveer: I don't care what you say Bani, we are going there.
Bani: But WHY?
Ranveer: Because if anything happens to you I will never be able to forgive myself. I will always wonder if I should have taken that little chance and maybe that could have saved you.
Bani: Oh Bhaiya…
Ranveer: No, if you give me any arguments, I will drag you there. So don't waste your energy.
After Ranveer had left the room, Bani turned to Rano and almost plead her.
Bani: Bhabhi, how is Bhaiya going to afford all this? I mean going to America is not a little thing, all of this must be costing him fortunes.
Rano: Bani, would you stop worrying about the money. Your brother has it handled.
Bani: But Bhabi
Rano: Why are you worrying about it Bani? Do you really think any amount of money is more important to your brother then you? No, right? Then why are you talking like an idiot? Now, get ready. I will pack everything just rest and be ready for tomorrow.
Bani: I love you Bhabhi.
Rano: I know, I love you too.
Bani remained on her bed the rest of the day as she had no energy to move around. She knew she had lost a lot of weight and and couldn't even recognize herself in the mirror. Pushkar stopped by before Bani was about to leave and they talked for a long time, mostly Pushkar talking since Bani had no energy.
The plane ride was torturous as Bani was already sick and the differences in elevations did not help her one bit. The entire time she was on the plane, she was either coughing or throwing up. After a long time, she finally fell asleep and since the drugs had taken effect, she didn't even realize how she had gotten to the hospital.
The next morning, she was the black circles underneath her eyes and those tired actions her brother did. She knew him really well and knew that he would never tell her that he was tired.
Bani: Bhaiya, get some rest. You need your sleep.
Ranveer: I am fine, you sleep nicely.
Bani: I have been sleeping this entire time in the plane, I am sure you have been awake the entire time.
Ranveer: I am fine.
Bani: GO!
Ranveer: Fine, I will be back in a while.
Bani: If you come back before at least two hours, I am going to be really really mad at you.
Ranveer: Okay, okay.
Bani fell asleep within seconds again because the medicines were really taking a toll on her. When it was sure that she was asleep, Jai came inside the room.
She looked ragged, and beaten. She had red bruises all over her body, a side effect of the medicines as well as the cancer itself. Her body was totally un-proportional. According to her doctor, her spleen and lymph nodes had been enlarged and on the other hand she had lost a lot of weight on the other parts of her body.
He walked over to her and placed a kiss on her forehead and her face had a slight smile on her face making him wonder what she was dreaming about. He sat there for a few minutes and just patted her hair and just gave her some company. He looked at the table right next to the bed and there was a picture frame that had Ranveer, Rano, Pushkar, Bani and even himself. He picked it up surprised that she hadn't ripped out his picture. Just when he was about to put the picture away, a small picture from the back fell out. As he picked it up, he saw it was a picture of him and Bani at her 16th birthday party and on the back of the picture it had something crossed out. And underneath it only one word left: NEVER.
Jai and me… together? Ever? NEVER
Jai looked at Bani and sadly put the picture back. He made his way outside and talked to the doctors about any fees and money and then disappeared into the night.
