Prachi Desai is worried that shooting for Kasamh Se may affect her attendance at Mithibai College

Here's this 19 year-old on-screen mom struggling to strike a balance between her college lectures and her serials. Prachi Desai, aka Bani of Kasamh Se, is shouldering the responsibility of the show pretty much on her shoulders. But she's equally anxious to fulfil her other commitment towards herself - her attendance at college.

Prachi, who has just completed her XII standard from a Pune junior college with 62 per cent marks, has just got admission in Mithibai College. Though very excited about her new life, she's apprehensive that she may not be able to be a regular at the college.

Prachi's favourite subject is psychology and she wanted to pursue it as her honours subject. But, owing to her gruelling shooting schedules, it would be impossible for her to attend the practical classes. She says, "I really wanted to do Psychology honours, but the shooting pressure is enormous for a daily serial. So, I won't be able to attend the practicals. So, I opted for English, sociology and psychology as my subjects."

In fact Prachi was so busy shooting that she had to miss out on the fun of the first day at college. "I have been busy shooting and could not attend college. One of my close friends from Pune has also joined Mithibai College. She has given me the time-table. But I do plan to attend college from next week," she adds.

Now, with her college lectures from 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and the Kasamh Se shootings at night, Prachi hopes to juggle deftly between her two passions. There may be times she may have to bunk classes to attend to the demands of Kasamh Se.

Luckily her co-star, Ashwini Kalsekar who is also from the same college, has offered to bail her out of such sticky situations. "Ashwini suggested that she will come along with me to the college and request the authorities to bear with me as my shootings may disrupt my attendance," Prachi says.

With Bani becoming a household name isn't she scared of getting mobbed in college? "Yes, I was a bit hesitant initially. But, the fact is that I have to study and I have to attend college. So I am just keeping my fingers crossed!" she laughs.
