The actor and wife Neelam are expecting baby No 2 in November

Ronit Roy (Mihir of Kyunki, Mr Bajaj of Kasautii) is set to become a papa again. His wife Neelam is pregnant with their second child. The baby is due in November. The couple's first born is a daughter, Aador.
A tte--tte with Ronit and Neelam….

Did you always want a second child?
Ronit: No. I have a teenaged daughter (Ona) from my earlier marriageand Neelam considers her as her own daughter. So, we had two kids. But Neelam wanted another one, she was adamant. I was talking to my friend Hemal Modi and telling him that Neelam wanted another child. He told me that she was right. He said a child needs a blood bond when his parents are no more. That stayed in my mind.

Neelam: I started feeling that Aador needs company. I wanted a second child for sure.

What was your reaction when you first learnt of that Neelam is pregnant?
Ronit: I was very happy. I was shooting when Neelam called to confirm that she was carrying. We have a family friend Ruth who can foresee the future? She told Neelam three weeks before Neelam conceived that we would have another baby very soon.

Neelam: I was overjoyed.

You want a son or daughter?
Ronit: No preference. My brother Rohit also has a daughter, Kiara. But if I have a boy, the family will be complete. They will all have a brother.
Neelam: I have no choice (laughs). For me it's okay. I want my husband's dreams to be fulfilled.

Has Aador realised that she will have a sibling?
Ronit: Yes. She pokes at Neelam's tummy and says that there's a baby inside (laughs). She is very fond of babies. She is very pally with Sharman Joshi's daughter, Khyana.

Neelam: She freaks out when she sees kids. She is wondering that why she can't see the growing baby.

Where is the delivery happening?
Ronit: In Mumbai. Neelam's first delivery was a bit traumatic. Aador's first year was rather delicate. I am not blaming anybody but we have gone in for a different gynaecologist.

Neelam: That was my destiny. Let bygones be bygones.

Have you thought of names for the new baby?
Ronit: Yes, male and female names both. I want to have the name with A again. But I am not divulging the names which we have shortlisted. Let that be a surprise at least.

Neelam: That's Ronit's domain. Last time too, he came up with the name Aador. We all liked it.

Have you started shopping baby clothes, toys, etc?
Ronit: Not yet. When Aador was due, I was in Singapore. I had bought some baby stuff. Few days back, I was shooting in Turkey. I bought some loose outfits for Neelam.

Neelam: My mom used to say that utilise a lot of the first baby's things and a lot of Aador's things are still very much there. But we are going to Dubai, so we might shop a bit.

Will you have more time with the new baby than you had with Aador?
Ronit: Yes, those days were full of hectic schedules. I have also changed. I have reduced my social life. I get up at 6 am nowadays. I play with Aador, go to the gym and then head for work.
Neelam: I think Ronit will have that. For me, it will be the same.
