'BANI' he screamed… she looked up and saw him gesturing. She slowly wiped her hands and moved to open the kitchen door.

She let him in with a curt 'Good Morning' and then went back to pretending like she was busy, fiddling around with the utensils in the kitchen. This man was impossible… may be she could take this 'bartan' (utensil) and hit him with it.. such an irritating man. Nah.. then she would be charged with assault and what not.. she didn't want to go to jail!
Jai loked at her face.. emotions ranging from disgust to amusement and then a bit of fear! He wondered what she had to be scared of..
'Mind if I have some coffee?' he asked.. he had to start the coverstaion somehow!
'Sure.' She pointed to the coffee pot and the cup stand ' what doesn't Massi give him coffee or tea? That he has to come and drink it here?' she thought bitterly.
'So, what have you got planned for today?' he asked, again attempting to start a conversation.
To avoid you and the terrors your massi calls 'angels'… 'I'm just working on my book..'
'Oh? What is it about?'
From what Bani had heard this man had a lot of money.. he was a business tycoon! 'you have money, you can buy it and read it when it's published' she wanted to say to him but instead she replied ' Just another children's book really..'
Jai knew he was getting no where with her. Just from the occasional glance she bestowed upon him he could tell he was not welcome in her house (which incidentally was actually his he thought) or her life… well he wasn't going to give up so easily.
There was an awkward silence in the kitchen. Bani was just plain irritated. She just didn't want to know him or his kids better…
The ringing of the doorbell broke the silence… Bani vowed to thank whoever it was at the door. 'Excuse me' she said to jai and went out of the kitchen. Jai watched her make her way out of the kitchen and went out himself into the garden and brought Krishna and Arthva in to kitchen.
He heard the door open and a shrill ' PUUUSSSHHHKARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR'. More screams and shrieks followed with the occasional 'Where have you been?' and 'It's been soooo long' thrown in. The kids looked up at Jai, a bit astonished at the fact anyone except themselves could make so much noise. While Jai waited impatiently in the kitchen to see who this ' PUUUSSSHHHKARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR' was!
It wasn't long before he saw Bani entering the kitchen again and with her a handsome young man. Bani had remembered leaving Jai in the kitchen. 'Pushkar.. this is Jai, Arthva and Krishna' Hi's and Hello's are exchanged between them with Jai and Pushkar shaking hands, both sizing each other up.
'BANI.. you got married AND have kids and you don't think it's important to tell me. How could you do this to me?'
'Relax Pushkar' Bnai laughed.. 'they're not mine.. they're Jai's… you know I would never leave you' and she kissed him on the cheek..
'Ohhh…' Puskar smiled and Jai thought he saw a look of relief cross his face. While Bani prepared more coffee Jia and Puskar chatted, while the kids went and explored the house. Jai found out that Puskar was a pilot and he worked out from the airline which Puskhar worked for and Jai's own knowledge of the world that he must earn a hefty six figure salary.
'great' thought Jai. 'That's all I need. As is making friends with Bani isn't hard enough here comes Mr Hot-Shot Pilot who is already friends with her. Jai nearly groaned out loud in frustration.
Bani handed Pushkar placed a cup of coffee in front of Pushkar and went and stood next to him. He put an arm around her shoulder and she smiled up him.
Jai was burning with jealousy.. while Jai and Pushkar were talking Bani went in thought.
She hadn't seen Puskar in years and he hadn't changed much she thought looking up at him with a hint of a smile on her face. He had always been there for her and she loved him to bits. Bani was jolted out of her thoughts by a loud crash and a scream..
'oh No..' thought Jai.. 'The kids '
Bani, Pushkar and Jai rushed out of the kitchen and found Arthva and Krishna in the living room, covered in mud. A plant lay horizontally nearby! Bani looked at the kids in shock.. Arthva was grinning and looked very happy.. like he had just won some sort of prize. Krishna, on the other hand was close to tears. Her emerald green eyes pooled with tears.
Jai picked her up immediately and starting to consle 'It's ok beta.. don't cry..' while Bani was still in a state of shock., her brand new carpet, covered by mud stains. The new plant pot broken. 'Oh My Gosh' she whispered loud enough so Pushkar who was standing next to her could hear. Pushar just seemed amused by all of this.
Jai while comforting Krishna risked a look at Bani.. By the shock on her face, she obviously wasn't amused like Pushkar. 'Damn' he thought. Bani suddenly glanced and caught his eye. Hers were filled with anger and blaming him, while his full of apologies!
Puskkar became aware of the tension between them and told Jai to take the kids out of the room. 'Come on kids… doesn't matter.. let's go and I'll get you something to drink. Juice.. Coke..?' he asked the children.
Arthve who was unperturbed by all of this at once shouted 'Coke… I want coke..'
And Krishna just followed. Pushkar led them out of the room and into the kitchen, leaving Bani and Jai alone…
'So Sorry Bani..they're just kids.. I'll even pay for the carpet and the plant pot' said Jai… somehow whenever they were around Bani, they were at their worst! They were that much of a hazard at home!
Bani ignored him and went out of the room and came back a little later with some cleaning supplies and started to clean up. Jai helped. They worked in silence for the next 15 – 20 minutes with Jai glancing at Bani every now and then hoping for a change in demeanour. Nope.. she was still angry!
Bani couldn't get the mud stains out of the carpet (lol. They didn't have Vanish Oxy-action.. heheh anyways). Then Bani made her way into the kitchen to find Pushkar chatting to Krishna and Arthva.
Jai took this opportunity to thank Pushkar and Bani, say sorry once again and take his kids back to their house.
'Have you seen them.. they're so cute! And they talk so much.. especially Arthva.. that boy..' Puskhar trailed off after a look from Bani.
'Come on sweetie… they're just kids'
'More like little devils..' she muttered.
'Bani, Bani, Bani, that's what kids are for… to wreck havoc! Otherwise life would be very boring! Come on.. enough now… come and help me unpack…'
Bnai looked at him.. 'Yes baba.. I got you something..' Bani's face broke in to a grin and they both made their way out of the kitchen.

Over the next few days, eveytime Jai attepted to talk to Bani or started talking to Bani Pusjkar appeared and joined the conversation. He was getting irritated. He had also instructed his kids to stay away from Bani aunty for a little while.. gove her time to cool down.
But whenever Bani wasn't around.. they would play with Pushkar who had become a good friend to them and even helped Arthva in his little pranks on his father or Massi. Puskhar became a kid when he was around the two of them.
Bani was happy aswell. Pushkar was here which meant no talking to Jai. And Puskhar kept the two children busy aswell, which meant she could work on her book
Jai, on the other hand was getting restless, he hadn't spoken to Bani properly since the incident with the plant pot and he knew if he wanted a mother for these kids then he had to be atleast on speaking terms with the woman without her bodyguard around!
With this in mind he made a plan!
