Chapter Fifteen

Jai picked up Bani from the Walia Mansion, and headed towards the famous French styled caf for lunch. As Jai parked the car on the side of the street, he waited for the cars to stop speeding by so they could cross the road. Doubting he locked the car he turned around to double check.

Facing the street again, he saw Bani taking steps into the street in an attempt to cross the road. Looking onto the road a speeding van with much force was making its way at Bani. Panicking, Jai quickly pulled Bani towards him before it was too late and before the van could've hit her.

The driver honked his horn knowing that was a close one. Jai angrily glared at Bani who was pale and shocked as she had almost gotten hit by a car. "What the hell is wrong with you? Do you think jumping in front of cars is fun?" Jai asked mockingly.

"I..I didn't see the car," Bani stuttered trying to regain her lost voice. "Yeah, well you better look more accurately next time," he snapped. Guessing from her face, Bani was shaken and was in no state to be yelled at. "What if something happened to you?" he sighed running his fingers through his thick hair.

Holding her hand tightly, Jai crossed the road when he saw no cars in sight. At the table in the caf they sat quietly eating their food in silence. Sensing his foul mood, Bani didn't dare to talk. Throughout the whole time of when they ate to when they went back to the Walia Mansion one question haunted Jai, what if some thing happened to her.

Ranveer climbed the stairs of Rano's apartment and finally reached her door. He was going to give her a surprise as he came unexpected. He rang the doorbell and waited a couple of seconds to see finally someone opened the door. Instead of Rano he found a male at the door.

"I'm sorry I think I got the wrong house," Ranveer said staring at the man that had a sluggish smile on his face. Appearing at the door, Rano came with a big kitchen spoon in her hand. "Sorry Ranveer I was busy making food in the kitchen, I told Sahil to answer the door," she smiled.

"Sahil?" Ranveer asked in a confused mind looking at the tall handsome male in front of him. "Sorry I forgot to introduce you guys. Ranveer this is Sahil my childhood friend from Mount Abu and Sahil this is Ranveer my friend." Rano introduced.

"Nice to meet you," Sahil extended his hand friendlily. Ranveer returned the kindness but he felt a pang of jealously as he eyed Rano and Sahil together. "Rano I think you're busy now so I will come another time," Ranveer felt like an intruder in their moment.

"Actually I just came to give Rano a visit and food is about to be ready so in this case why don't we have dinner together," Sahil smiled warmly. "Sure," Ranveer replied after looking at Rano's face telling him to stay. While eating dinner Sahil and Rano recollected their childhood memories.

Ranveer envied Sahil as he made Rano laugh with his silly jokes or made her blush when he teased her. "So Sahil where are you staying?" Ranveer asked. "Here," Sahil replied coolly. "What," Ranveer chocked imagining Rano and him staying together.

"I mean obviously here in this city for another week or so," Sahil corrected himself purposely teasing Ranveer. "Yeah but I meant where are you going to sleep for the night?" Ranveer replied partly relieved. "I'm staying at a guest house 20 minutes away," Sahil smiled.

Ranveer nodded as if interested and after a while getting bored of their talks, feeling left out he excused himself. Rano approached him when he was at the door. "Ranveer it's so early why are leaving so soon? It won't be much fun if you're not here," she pleaded for him to stay longer. "Oh I'm sure you and Sahil will have enough fun with me not around," he muttered before leaving.
