Part 2

Jai hears Raj's voice, and turns around..

And in front of him, just inches from his face, he sees Bani.. She could feel his breath on her face, and the big brown eyes staring at her face. Jai saw a simple girl, not like everyone else. Simple, but yet outstanding. She had those big eyes that would make anyone feel lost. And that's exactly what happened. Both of them stood there in their own world, eye-lock session, not noticing that all of Jai's friends had gathered around them. Raj brought them back to reality. 😆😉

Raj: Jai, this is Bani.. And Bani, this is Jai, Nachiket and Ranveer..

Bani said hi to each one of them, and they said hi back.. But she noticed that Jai's eyes were following her when she spoke to them. Jai was in a world of his own! He could stand there staring at the beauty in front of him for ages.

A few days passed and Bani got to know a few other girls, named Laxmi, Henna and Rano. She often spent time with Raj and his friends too, for a reason she wasn't quite sure.. (I know why Bani..😉) But she liked the company. Both Jai and Bani kept staring at each other whenever they saw each other. Raj was still unaware of the growing attraction between Jai and Bani, but Bani's other friends could definitely notice that she liked Jai..

Next week

Bani was standing by this poster saying that there was going to be a schooldance in the weekend for the seniors celebrating they were finished! She thought that it sounded like fun, but her heart sank when she read that everyone had to come with a partner.

Raj: It's all just crap.. We'll celebrate in another way! Celebrating we're finished at school by coming here more then we need to.. 😆😕 Crap! (You see, he's trying to convince Bani that it's not that important..)

Bani: Naah.. It sound like fun though.. Celebrating with all your friends!

Raj: You want to go?

Bani: Well yeah, but… (She pointed towards the paper where the couple thing was written)

Raj: So? We'll all go together as friends! You, me, Jai, Ranveer, Nachiket, Laxmi, Rano and Henna..

Bani: (understanding that he was just trying to make her feel better) No.. When I think about it, I don't think I have time.. Bahut kam baki he aur..

Saved by the bell! Bani and Raj parted and went to different directions after saying bye..

Jai had also seen the poster and he really wanted to ask Bani.. He knew he could get anyone but was afraid that Bani might be an exception.. But there would be no better way to celebrate then with Bani.. Dancing the night away with Bani.. 😳

Jai (thinking): Get a grip Jai! You're dreaming about dancing with her, you don't even have the guts to ask her to the dance!

Raj: Jai, would you do me a favour, yaar?

Jai: Umm.. (brought back to reality) Yeah, kya baat he?

Raj Will you ask Bani out for the party this weekend? I know she wants to go, and I would really appreciate if you went with her.. (Raj, no problem.. Jai would appreciate that too! 😆) You see, Bani is like a sister to me, and I have to take care of her. And you're one guy I trust with her! (Oye Raj, don't! 😆)

Jai was elated! He finally had a damn god reason for asking her out! He was so happy, wanting to hug Raj, but at a second thought, that might not be the best thing to do right now! 😉 The first and most important thing to do at the moment was to ask Bani..

Jai: Umm Bani..

Bani: (lowering her eyes) yes..

Jai: Do you want to go with me to the dance on Saturday?

Bani looked up to look him in the eyes.. She couldn't believe it! Of course she wanted to go! But Jai wasn't sure if he saw happiness or sadness by his proposal.. Had he been to forward? 😕

Jai: Well.. You don't have to answer right now.. And we'll all go together, so it'll not be anything personal.. You know, just as friends?

Bani: Umm, yeah sure..

Jai: (more then happy!) Ok then, I'll pick you up from Raj's place at 8? All of you girls, you, Laxmi, Rano and Henna can get ready there, and we'll (Jai, Nachiket, Ranveer, Raj) pick you up..

Bani knew for sure that this was going to be one of the better nights in her life.. 😉😳😳

Bani came down the stairs wearing a black sleeveless sari.. The sari had silver embroidery and Bani had her hair loose but with a silver clip in it, that matched her earrings and necklace.. Simple, yet she looked stunning! Jai was left speechless.. He couldn't seem to understand how a girl could look that pretty and simple at the same time!

They all left for the dance together, and once they were there all the girls gathered on one side and all the boys on the other..

Bani sat on a table with Laxmi and Henna.. They were talking about something which Bani couldn't care less about.. So her eyes drifted towards Jai.. He was standing next to Raj and Nachiket.. Ranveer was to busy getting drinks to everyone.. Laxmi and Henna quickly noticed Bani's shy smile, and the focus of her eyes..

Laxmi: So, Bani.. Do you like him?

Bani: Umm.. (pretending to fix her sari..) Kya?

Laxmi: Do you like him, I said?

Bani: Like whom?

Henna: Don't pretend! Tumhari akhoon me saaf saaf dikh raha he that you like him, and don't act like you don't know whom I'm talking about!

Laxmi: Yo dil me he basa.. Dekhti he akhen usko hi baar baar.. 😆

Henna: Stop pestering her Laxmi! But seriously Bani.. He's a good guy.. He stands up for his friends and he's trustworthy..

Rano came walking towards them.

Rano: What are you talking about?

Bani (quickly): Nothing.. (Aww, Rano.. I hate when people stop talking just cause someone else arrives.. Very bad Bani! 😡😆)

Rano (too clever to accept that!): Lekin..

She was interrupted by Ranveer who came behind her and asked her to dance.. 😳 They went together to the dancefloor.. One by one the guys came and asked the girls for a dance.. (Yeah, Jai too!) Raj danced with Henna, Nachiket with Laxmi and of course Jai with Bani. Jai took Bani's hand and led her to the dancefloor. He held her around the waist, while Bani had her one hand on his shoulder. She had her eyes lowered (she's shy..), and both of them dance in complete silence..

The song playing was

The song seemed to go to fast, finished way too soon.. All the couples stood together.. Raj asked Rano for the next dance.. They all exchanged partners.. But when Henna asked Jai, he said he needed a break (excuses excuses Jai! Ek dance se hi thak gaye? 😉) He would get something to drink.. (poor Henna!😉) And asked Bani if she wanted to come along.. Now how could Bani resist him?! She tagged along while the others went to dance.. 😛
