Okie...........this wasn't going to be posted until Monday, but I finished it early so decided to put it up😛........It's not all that great and a boring part 3 will follow before any "fireworks" start!😉

"So this is where you've been hiding all this time."

Jai drawled.

He stood in the doorway, blocking her exit, dressed completely in black, though the jacket had been discarded to reveal the black shirt underneath, the sleeves folded of the way and a few buttons left open at the top. His mere presence filled the kitchen, suddenly making the space look too small, flowers too dull, and the smiley-faced mugs too childish.

He didn't make any attempt to start a conversation; content with roaming her body through his eyes, making her feel self-conscious. She felt him glance at her bare legs and blushed while trying, and failing to, pull the t-shirt down in attempt to cover herself up.

A small smile playing on his lips, she watched as he detached himself from the doorframe and sauntered in, each step tightening the tight knot in her stomach until she could barely stand.

Clutching the shelf behind her, she watched a\s he stopped mere inches away from her, before lifting one hand to her face. She gasped as his cold fingers brushed against her cheek before pushing away a stray strand of hair, the thumb caressing her ear, making it's journey down to her jaw, gliding over to her mouth and resting at the bottom lip.

"Hey Di!…Guess who's …"

Pia's voice trailed away as she noticed Jai in the kitchen, hands shoved deep in to his pockets as Bani stood by him, face slightly pink. Raising one perfect eyebrow, she tried to overlook the expressions on their faces.

"Di, you might want to go and get changed. I'll get Breakfast ready for all of us."

Mumbling a quick thanks, Bani rushed out of the kitchen, feeling Jai's gaze on her retreating back.

"You couldn't come a minute later could you?"

Pia shrugged her shoulders, amused at Jai's annoyed expression.

"Sorry jiju, maybe next time you should hang up a 'Do Not Disturb' sign"

Chuckling, he promised her that he'd remember next time, and left the kitchen leaving Pia grinning behind him.

20 minutes later, she emerged from her bedroom and slowly made her way down the large spiral staircase, stopping momentarily at the golden embossed mirror to check her appearance. Avoiding the colour pink, Bani had donned a light mauve sari, slightly darker than the several tinkling bangles adorning her wrists. She had pinned the pallu up, allowing the several folds to caress her stomach, and as she straightened these now, a teasing voice in her head asked her how long could she hide the truth for?

Pushing such thoughts to the back of her mind, she delicately ran her fingers through her hair (brushed vigorously several minutes before) and glanced over her reflection one last time before making her way towards the dining area where she could clearly hear Sahil's voice, followed by a roar of laughter.

"Hey Bani! I thought you'd forgotten about me after coming here. No phone call, no nothing."

"It's nothing like that Pushkar, you know our friendship's one thing I could never forget"

She smiled warmly at Pushkar as he pulled her into friendly hug while Sahil stood nervously in the background, debating with himself on how to greet her. Bani noticed his hesitation and detached herself from Pushkar to ask how everyone at home was, whether Dadi was taking her medicines on time and how Anu was coming along.

The last question had everyone laughing and Bani found herself being seated at the table between an enthusiastic Pia and Sahil as they recounted how Anu had driven Rohit crazy with her cravings at ungodly hours, and tantrums to watch every movie that passed the cinema halls.

Bani sat listening in amusement to the young girls antics, while at the same time avoiding glancing at the other end of the table, as she had found much to her discomfort (and delight) that she had been seated directly opposite the man who had entertained her dreams the night before.

Jai on the other hand hadn't let his gaze slip from her face from the second she had stepped through the door. Peeking over the top of his newspaper, he watched as her lips curved in to a warm smile, while her eyes twinkled with happiness. The smile that she had only reserved for those she loved. The smile he had only seen for him once, the night she had woken up for the first time in his arms, and believing him to be asleep, had ran her thumb over his cheek, before kissing that very same spot.

That was four months ago - she had changed so much since then. Her hair was longer than he remembered, almost waist length and dyed a brown, which matched the colour of her eyes as it hit the sunlight. There was a glow to her face and she had even become curvier, something, which he knew, she had tried to hide with the sari.

"Jiju! You haven't even eaten anything!"

Bani watched carefully as Rano admonished Jai, filling his plate up with food and forcing him to eat more, backed up by Pia who refused to listen to his reasoning that he was full. She was surprised at how easily her sisters, especially the shy and reserved Rano, seemed to get on with Jai, teasing, threatening and laughing with him as if they had known him forever.

Gulping down more than he could handle, Jai jumped of the chair and shook his head pleadingly at Rano who had just buttered another slice of toast.

"No, no Rano. Any more and I think I'll explode! Besides, we have some work to be getting on with."

Sahil and Pushkar also got up and after wishing a hurried goodbye to their respective wives and sister-in-laws, followed Jai out of the house towards the black Merc, waiting to take them to site of their new project.
