Sorry for the delay in updating I had an appointemnt today in the morning which kept me busy till mid afternoon. So here is a detailed update but the secret regarding Bani's birth will be revealed slowly over the arrangements of her wedding.

Chapter 17

Bani could come home only after two days as she developed a slight infection and Jai was getting worried and the hospital staffs were on pins and needles because of Jai's temper. At the nurses desk they are getting the discharge papers ready.
Nurse: Finally the patient in the v.i.p. room is getting discharged and things can go back to normal.
Receptionist: God I wish someone would move the earth for me this way when I am sick.
Nurse: Stop day dreaming and get all the papers ready or you can be sure that your termination letter will be in by evening.
Receptionist: By the way who is he to terminate me.
Nurse : Incase you forgot who the patient is. Let me remind you it is Jai Walia's fianc and he is one of the major trustees of this hospital.
Receptionist: No wonder everyone has to bow to his command.
Nurse: Finish your paper work and then you can start day dreaming. And the nurse leaves.

Finally Bani is discharged and Jai has brought her to his house as massi had told him. Massi was waiting with the pooja thali and at the door she does the arthi and puts tikka on Bani's forehead. Jai says that he will carry her upstairs as the doctor has asked not to exert herself.
Bani: I am not made of glass.
Jai: I know that but still He lifts Bani and is moving up the stairs.
Bani: Iam not invalid either. The doctor said I could do continue with my daily routine.
Jai: Reaches her room pulls the duvet down and places her, adjusts the pillows to her comfort. I know you can take care but allow me to indulge you because I love you angel and it kind of eases my concise for not being there for you when you got hit.
Bani: Well if it's to ease your conscience than you should be doing a lot more.
Jai: What?
Bani: After the trail of broken hearts over your engagement to me and the hard time you gave the hospital staff.
Jai: Why do you always rub it in? As its is Adi and tarun does a good job of it? Please my angel not you too.
Bani: Then start behaving like a normal human being.
Jai: Are you implying that y I am insane.
Bani: Not exactly just madly in love with me.
Jai:Smiles and falls into bed with her and cuddles her.
Bani: Stop you are making me ticklish and I am waiting for the juice that was promised during the ride.
Jai: When you are around angel all I want to do is this and starts caressing then cupped her face and started kissing her when they were interrupted by massi
Massi: Ehm coughs. Jai I thought you said bani requires rest.
Jai all flushed up as he was caught just excuses himself saying I think I will get the juice now. As Jai was leaving
Massi: By the way I just wanted to ask you have you confirmed with Tarun about my trip to Mt Abu.
Jai: For what.
Massi turning towards Bani: I think its time you both of you legalized your relationship rather than always appearing as front page news.
That when Jai remembered his conversation with Massi the other day about the arrangements of the wedding. Massi had suggested that It would be very nice to have the ceremony in Bani's home town and the reception in Bombay.
Jai: Actually we haven't discussed about it.
Massi: What is this? It looks like both of you don't want to get married well that's understandable considering that you both are together all the time. So from now Jai interrupted in between and said
Jai:Its not that massi. Bani got hurt and then things all went out of control.
Massi: Then I am taking control of the situation now. What say Bani.
Bani: Massi as your wish and I like the idea of yours massi but there will be lots to do we have never been to the house after papa's death.
Massi you don't worry. I have prepared the duty list god.
Jai and Bani together: so what's our duty.
Massi: Bani you get well soon and jai take good care of my daughter she has to look beautifuyl for the wedding.
Jai: Oh now she is your daughter eh so what am I the son in law, not fair? You know massi I am the only child you had all these years.
Massi: At that comment massi's eyes get moist and she mumbles an excuse.
Jai turning to bani then towards massi what is the matter I was only joking I have no problems in bani being your daughter.
Massi: Its nothing its tears of joy and I was thinking about the past.
Bani: Massi you always say that we have to think of the future.
Massi: Some things always makes us think of our past and leaves.
Bani to jai: What was all that about.
Jai: Can't say massi has seen much in her life I tell you some other day .

Bani is regaining her strength and Jai takes utmost care of her and everyone teases him for it and Barnali and Jigyasa keep passing sarcastic comments over this but on he whole everyone was happy except for the two.

Massi and Tarun go to see about the arrangements about the ceremony. They go to the pandit to check about the horoscopes and the probable dates for the wedding. They also go to get the date of birth and time of bani's birth so they could make the horoscope for her. That's when they stumble upon a big secret of Bani's birth.

Tarun: We will have to tell this to Jai and Bani.
Massi: No tarun do you know what all problems it is going to create?
Tarun: Massi I know but at least it is the truth and don't you think bani has the right to know it
Massi: How can I face the family and the questioning eyes of everyone?
Tarun: Massi you are saying that because you are afraid to take a chance for something that has happened long ago and were not at all your fault as far as I can see.
Massi: Do you even know the enormity of the situation here once this is out in the open. Things will go out of hand. The family never understood then now why should it be different
Tarun: why can't you trust your own kids with the secret? You were there for them in their good and bad times surely they will understand.
Massi; I love them and I can't see the hatred in their eyes.
Tarun: By not saying the truth massi let me remind you that you are denying bani her legacy and you are also jeopardizing a relationship that is about to bloom. Massi more over if we cover up we are denying a lot of people by not acknowledging Bani's parentage.
Massi: I need time to think come up with perfect solution and confirm our findings with proof once again before we approach anyone.
Tarun: Fine we will do that then there will be no secrets. Now a days it is quite easy to prove these things. In the mean time massi do you think you will be able strong enough to face your family.
Massi: Of course I have to be strong. God why does the past always come to haunt us you know something tarun I think Jai's father knew it towards the end that is why he was so restless and he wanted to see me but by then he developed the stroke and couldn't say anything.
Tarun: Are you sure massi no one else is aware.
Massi: Why do you ask that?
Tarun: Well just wanted to be sure. Barnali wouldn't be aware of anything as she was the other person who knew them well.
Massi: Do you think she would have kept quite if she knew about this. God she thrives on bringing down the family and making life difficult for others. Moreover that would have given an edge over the situation.
Tarun: We will have to be extra careful and makes sure that the wedding preparation goes as schedule.
Massi: Thank you Tarun.
Tarun: For what massi Jai is my best friend and I have come to love bani like a sister so now lets get them married before another bomb explodes.

Tarun and massi now retire to their bed. Sleep is eluding massi.
Massi: Why after all these years God ? I don't want a reason to be bitter with you God. After so many years is this I get for loving the family. God hope I am doing the right thing.
