Jai went to check his mail. He had left his work incomplete to rush to the hospital. He went to his study.
When he came back from his work she was on her bed.
He looked at her for a moment and said, 'good night.'
Bani held her breath. She pretended to be asleep.
Jai smiled at the still figure switched of the light and went to bed.
3rd week
Jigyasa was discharged from the hospital after two days. They had appointed a nurse to take care of her. Her right leg was plastered. Aditya and the nurse helped her to the bed. She looked irritated all the more. She couldn't move freely anywhere she needed help and Jigyasa hated that very much.
The nurse had to hold her tongue most of the time with her patient.
Bani was making a dish in the kitchen she heard Jigyasa yell for he nurse. She went to see what was happening. The door was ajar. She pushed the door slowly and looked. Jigyasa was trying to sit on the bed. She again yelled for the nurse. She knocked on the door.
'come in..' she shouted.
Bani walked in.
'thum?'
'mein kuch madad karoon?'
'Nhain.. get out of here….'she screaned. Looking thunderously at her.
Bani felt bad for a moment. She walked tot eh door and stopped. Looking over her shoulder she said, 'agar aap nurse ko doond rahein hein tho wo yahan dikhayi nahin dethi.. …. Anu, Renveeraur Aditya uncle koi bhi is wakt yahan nahinhein….
Daadi room mein so rahi hein… massi Mandir gayi hein…. Yahan .. mein aur Tony hein….Agar Tony kaafi hein tho mein use bejthi hoon..'
Jigyasa scowled.
'Nahin…' she said controlling her temper.
'Mein jaoon?' Bani asked.
There was no reply from her. Bani took a step forward ….
'Suno…'
'Kahiyein…..
'Muje bathroom jana hein….
'teek hein…' BAni walked back to her. Helped her out of the bed and escorted to the toilet.
Jigyasa held her breath. She hated the situation she was in. It killed her to take help from Bani. Jigyasa looked at the woman before her. She looked cool and calm. Bani supported her weight no flinching or cursing her unlike her nurse who always grumbled when Jigyasa wanted to use the toilet. She decided to fire her nurse.
BAni took her back to the bed plopped pillows at her back and helped her in a sitting position.
'Mein aap keliye peene keliye kuch laoon?'
'Nahin..' came the stern reply.
'teek hein… agar kuch chahiyein tho kehdena..' she left the room.
Jigyasa looked at the departing figure.
In the evening Roshni came to see her. Jigyasa did not pay much attention to her.
'Yeh sab Kya hua…' she aske concerned.
'I slipped on the floor….' She answered crisply.
Roshni did not pay much attention to Jigyasa's displeasure. She assumed it because of her situation she was acting little impossible.
Roshni left her room.
Jigyasa gritted her teeth.
Jigyasa fired the nurse in the morning. Aditya looked exasperated.
'get me a new one ordered Jigyasa.
'Yes your Highness..' he left the room.
Aditya called her in the evening end told her the new nurse will come only in the morning.
Bani came to her aid again.
'Anu kahan hein?' Jigyasa asked.
'yahan nahinhein. She had gone to meet one of her friends. Jigyasa looked hurt. She had asked Anu to stay home. She h told her about the nurse and she need her help. But…..
'Can I help?' asked BAni…. She felt bad for her situation.
'thum meri madad kyon karna chahthi ho?'
'Pata nahin..' Bani was surprised.
'Aren't you helping me to gain something in return..' she taunted.
'Such as….' BAni frowned.
'thum yeh sab karke yahan rukna chahthi ho.. thum yeh aish aur araam ki zindagi chodna nahin chahthi……'
Bani threw he a sarcastic smile. 'Agar aap ka vichar yeh hein tho mein kuch nahin kar sakthi….
'thum kah rahi ho ki mein galat soochthi hoon? Jigyasa asked not believing her.
'mein ais kuch nahin soch thi..' Bani said helping her out of bed.
'If you think money is everything and having lots of money will make you happier then you are wrong….
Jigyasa gave a sarcastic laughter holding on to her shoulder.
Bani ignored her sarcasm.
'aap ke paas bahoth daulat hein.. kya aap bahoth kush hein apni zindagi se…? aap ki zindagi mein koi kami nahi….?
'kya bakwa kaharahi ho thum ?' Jigyasa flared.
BAni helped her on the wheel chair.
'Mien bakwas nahi kah rahi… ab aap ke paas bahoth time hein… aap achi thareh se socho ki aap bahoth kush hein ke nahin….'
Shut up'
'okay…' Bani kept her mouth shut, and wheeled her out of the room to hall.
Aditya and Jai walked in from out side.
'Yeh mein kya dekh rahi hoon?' Aditya asked surprised. 'Bani thum iski madad kar rahi ho.. thum hei tho acha khasa mouka mila hein is par var karne keliyein…'
Jigyasa's face tightened.
'Mein nihathe par var nahi karthi……' Bani replied smiling at him.
Jai laughed affectionately looking at BAni…
Jigyasa studied her brother.
'Suna…. Yeh kya keh rahi hein..kuch seeko thum isse…' Aditya teased.
Bani was making her bed her phone rang. She picked up the phone with out looking at the number.
'hello..'
'Bani…'
Kanchan… kya bath hein baii itna late……
Jai lifted his head from the book he was reading.
'Mein yeh poochne keliye phone kiya tha ki thumhara plan kaya hein….'
'Matlab?'
Thum kab aarahi ho?'
BAni threw a look at Jai who was pretending to read the book.
'Mein thum se kaha tha ki muje date nahi pata….'
'tho pata karo….'
'wo .. mein kaise…….' She looked at Jai. Kya mein ise pooch….. she thought for a moment holding the phone.
'ek minute Kanchan mein …'
'suniyein…..' she called Jai. He looked.
'wo… aap… London mein kab……..'
Not bothering to reply to her he walked out of the room and shut the door.
Bani stood shocked.
