Prt 4:
Jai ended up staying abroad for his business trip for a month and a half. He hated every minute of it. He couldn't concentrate; his mind kept going to Bani. It really annoyed him. No girl had ever had this kind of effect on him. He had to take care of this ASAP, or else it would destroy him. He had only really seen her once, at the wedding. He flew out soon after that. He heard from Ranveer that Bani came by every once in a while to see Raashi and what not. All Jai could think about is how he wasn't there. When his business deal was finally fixed he was able to come home. He was so happy, happier than he had ever been about returning home. He was actually GIDDY.
The day Jai came home wasn't a good day. The airport had been horrible, traffic and what not. When he got home no one was there. Ranveer Bhaia was at the office. Raashi Bhabi and Massi were out of the house. Only person there was Tony, the butler. He went to his room to rest. He heard Massi and Bhabi return but he was tired so didn't get up. He would just meet them in a few hours. He took a nice long nap. When he finally work up it was almost 6pm, Ranveer Bhaia should be home any minute. Jai took a shower and was getting dressed when he heard "Didi". He stopped what he was doing and listened, thinking his ears were playing tricks on him...again...but no there it was again..."DIDI". Jai walked out of his room to the upstairs balcony...and he saw her...she was actually there...Bani. Bani was standing in his house, looking cute as ever...yelling at the top of her lungs. He came down stairs and stood by the stairs. The door behind him opened but he didn't notice...all he saw was Bani. Just then Bani had the biggest and most adorable smile on her face. She began to run to him. He was thinking "OMG she is coming to me", Jai was ready to engulf her into a hug. Bani was coming closer...closer...closer...closer...past him...wait past him...Jai turned to see a grinning Bani run into the arms of her sister, Raashi, who had just come out of the bathroom. Oh how he wanted to be Raashi Bhabi now...Bani in his arms...
B- Didi...congratulations...where is my jiju..
R- Thanks my love, and he still at work.
B- What work...why...he shouldn't leave u in this condition.
J- What condition...Bhabi are u ok?
R- Oh Jai i was waiting for u to get up...have u met my sister Bani.
J- Oh yes...at the wedding...but Bhabi are u ok?
B- Come on Didi don't be shy, its normal. Ok she wont tell u she is dying of embarrassment. Conrgats Jai.
J- Ummm...thanks i guess...but for what?
B- U are going to be a cacha.
J- A cach...oh my God...congratulations Bhabi...just let this brother of mine come home ill see him then.
R- Actually he doesn't know yet. I just found out myself.
J- Ok...fine ill get to him later.
B- Ok Didi have to go
J- Now, already...i mean...u just got here...at least have something to drink.
B- No i have a late class so i have to go. Ok Bye Didi...love u...bye Jai.
She was gone as fast as she had come. He was happy for his brother and bhabi. He was going to be a cacha. He remembers the reaction Ranveer Bhaia had when he found out he was going to be a father. Jai is wondering if he had the same reaction. They next 7 months passed in a blur. He was swamped with so much work with his new projects. He thought about Bani everyday, all the time. He caught glimpses of her in the house every once in a while. None were long enough. He felt that even if he glared at her all day and all night it still wouldn't be enough.
Then one day, it was like God answered his prayers. Jai had come home from a busy day at work. He was walking in with Ranveer Bhaia when he heard that laughter, music to his ears type. As he walked in he saw Bani sitting on the living room sofa laughing her heart out with Raashi Bhabi. It was the best sight he had ever seen. Her hair was flying around her due to the fan, her eyes were showing the sheer joy she was feeling. He just kept watching her...and watching her...and watching her...and...BAM!...walked right into the wall...literally. He wasn't watching where he was going. Everyone looked at him, even Bani. Jai had never felt like such a fool in his life. Of all the time for this to happen it happened in front of Bani. He didn't know what to say, he just ran upstairs. Behind him he could hear her burst out into a fit of laughter.
Later that evening when he came down he had a bright red bump on his head. He sat at the dinner table, expecting Bani to be gone cuz she usually was by this time. Good in one way, he didn't have to face her after that idiotic goof up. He sat down with Ranveer Bhaia, Raashi Bhabi and Massi at the table. He looked up to see some come out of the kitchen..BANI...omg...she was here. Jai was dumb founded. What was he going to do?
Bani was serving everyone food. When she got to Jai she tried not to laugh, everyone tried. In the end they couldn't hold it in any longer. Bani was first to laugh and then everyone else joined in. Bani was standing next to Jai, and he just watched her. He was mesmerized by her. Finally broken out of the spell when Ranveer talk to him...
Ran- Jai what happned to u today?
J- What...nothing..im fine.
Ran- Oh yeah cuz u just walk into walls all the time right.
J- what...no...that...oh shut up.
Ras- Jai i hope u didn't get too hurt...that bump looks really bad.
J- No im fine...really it was nothing.
Ran- Oh Jai i forgot to tell u..Bani will be staying with us through Raashis delivery.
(Jai nearly choked on his food)
J- Staying...here...with u...but
Ras- Bani's exams are over and i cant seem to do all the work anymore. Bani will help me out. I hope u don't mind.
J- Oh no...if it help u then gladly.
Mind, no way. Bani living here means he gets to see her all time, when ever he wants. He went to bed that night very happy. Knowing that Bani was in the same house as he was, was a great feeling. Odd but still great.
Back to Present:
When ever Jai thought about that wall incident his hand automatically went up to his forehead. It was a habit. He let out a little laugh. He had been a fool that day, lost in her beauty, her innocence. Such a trivial ting brought her so much laughter. She laughed with all her heart that day and at night upon seeing hi red bump. Oh to hear that laughter again. Anything, Jai would do anything. If it meant walking into walls until he bled, he would gladly do it. Just to hear her laugh once more. To give his hear and soul the sound that did things to him he never imagine possible. To see that sheer joy on her face again. Just once more...once more...Jai would give his life for that laugh one more time.
