Loved everything so far.

Just one request. You are writing the FF from Bani's POV. Would be nice to see what Mr. Walia is thinking today as he is about to get married. Is he just infatuated with her as she is different from other women he meets in his life or is he truely in love with her. Just wondering......

Would like to know his thoughts.

My thoughts exactly...I was also wondering...are we gonna get glimpse of JW's feelings at all ? ....well...I know he is in love...but does he accept that he is in love ? or is he gonna remain soooo egoistic even to himself ?

Absolutely fell in love with ur description of the festivity associated with DIWALI…. "Happy to be alive, happy to have survived the blasts, crave to see the child grow up, want to buy that cell phone for Aai, borrowed to pay for the color TV for chhoti.." these glimpses into the minds of everyday people were just brilliant!…..this clearly shows the distinction between a good writer and a phenomenal one like u….take a bow Aditi!!!….I know it is an infinitesimal part of the story but for me it just stood out!!!… loved it all!!!…will be waiting eagerly for the engagement! 😉

Most def Aditee... I think with the above quoted paras (as the others indicated), you have really achieved something with this FF. Its a stand alone section, that so beautifully describes what Diwali is and could mean to so many..... somehow, it stands even above the FF and this story. I think it speaks more of you as a writer.... you really have an eye for detail. Here, you've captured an understanding of the urgency that surrounds everyday life, while also hinting at the secret desires and hopes that make life worth living.... perhaps, if i might be so bold as to say, an apt comparison to the relationship of JW and Bani.

Bravo!

Thanks a million all of you. I didnt think it was that great! Was it? I am totally honored, I rewound and went back to my single Delhi Diwali days, returning home from work (at my first ever job we were expected to work on Diwali day 😡 ), either in the bus or in an "auto" 😉 got to see the exact same things I have listed. Some sights, sounds and smells shall stay with me for as long as I live.

They dont call India the most amazing country on earth just for nothing!

I was just sharing memories.

Thanks for loving it so
Neena, and Soap I realize I owe you a JW part, either the enggment one or the one after I PROMISE
Engment will be tonite on my PC 😉 Hubby's packing can wait........ I' ve got a wedding to arrange 😆

Deeply touched by the wonderful feedback. I am glad many are able to relate to the everyday things in India

Its been a life's lesson for me: Simple everyday events often turn out to be the most cherished memories, so do not scoff or forget to appreciate routine things!

Happy Holidays to you and yours......... Eid and Bhai Dooj

Love

Aditee,

this is such a treat. I am going nuts writing cover letters and kissing I banker a----. Coming online and finding such an escape makes all the days frustration go away. I loved the fact that bani was so into her engagement outfit. I can really imagine a stunning pink and mauve number. Also you so vividly described an enchanted JW who is completely mesmerized by this child woman. Loved B's possesiveness of JW being hers.

One part that made me sad was the part that she was crying and he called. Can you somehow show a convo where he sets her free and says that she does not have to marry him in duress, but she says she will marry him because she does not want to be obligated to him in anyway, while in her heart the thought of not marrying him terrifies her. It would be great to see JW being sensitive to her feeling coerced to a marriage. Just a humble suggestion to your FF genuis. Hope you and your family had a fantastic diwali. As always brilliant, and I cannot wait for the next part. 👏 👏 👏

cheers,
mou
