Bani listening to this just stared at Jai 😳 …..and than as Jai met her gaze she looked down…turning her gaze away

Bani: masi meh Prasad bahar sabko dekar ati hu…. 😳

Ghar par saab sham ki taiyari kar rahe the….Bani had gone to the mandir to take her blessing and offer Prasad to God and Jai was at home on phones all day

His room was on the left wing where he could see everything in the backyard and the streets ahead

Because the mandir was in walking distance bani walked to and fro everytime……on her way back it started to rain…and the nearby kids were rain bathing on the streets…seeing Bani…who was trying her best to get home…..

Kids: bani di bani di..aoo na….khlete hai..

BAni; aaj nahi….aaj mujhe jana hai

Kids: aao na di…dheko woh gana bhi lageya…..

In dhaba next to where she was the song playing …

Bani listening smiled and than offering the kids Prasad she put her thali near by…..getting all wet now….tying her dupatta she started dancing in the rain and playing with them….

Jai needed a break from his calls…walking outside to the balcony of his room he saw the rain…he loved rain..too bad his youth days were occupied by work and parties and what not that he couldn't let loose and just freely enjoy things….

Looking out again his favourite cup of chaiye in hand..it was bit chilly but not really cold….going out he heard music coming form the far side…walking to see the view…he was amused to find Bani all wet I her pink kameez laughing and playing with little 6 or 7 year kids in the rain….he was mersmerised by her side….jumping in puddles…laughing singing and having so much fun…..thats what I need in my life Jai thought…some fun…..

Bani realizing that she was gone so late and it was almost 5pm made her way home…waving goodbyes to the kids…laughing……

As she entered the house…….she was surprised to see it beautifully decorated and all done up……behind was a big picture of her taken a few months ago and on the top…a huge banner Hapy birthday BAni…oh no she thought…in logo ne chupke se meri birthday party rakdi….areh…

Walking inside….Masi and Rano busy in the kitchen…..so she tip toed to the room…all drenched in the rain…..slowly tip toeing so they don't see it…Jai realizing she must be in started to go down the stairs….

Bani looking back down the stairs…her sandals in her hand…..and moving up the stairs….her hands on he railings…..

Masi said something to Rano so she stopped …incase these guys are going to come out…she might have to run…nope lucky save….so she tiptoed again…but putting her hand on the railing she touched something warm…a hand….still looking the other way she started to feel the warm hands with her cold ones…it felt good……looking at her hand and where it was she saw pari of dark brown hands on the railing…following the hands to the shoulder to the face she found her trapped infront of Jai Walia again…..oh no she thought…Jai with a cynical smile amused looking at her …the other hand in pocket….and than his gaze to his hands…

Bani quickly grabbed her hand back…looking down ….opening her dupatta from her kamar (by the way all this time Jai is following each and every action of hers)…..and than she put it over herself……pushing her wet hair back……all shy and embarrassed looking down…..Jai looking at her moved to the side and with the hand she held indicated her to go…as if a servant gives his madam pathway to go…..Bani getting the opporitunity to run…madly she ran…..scared again

Jai stood there thinking…not really anything but just thinking and not realizing he was smiling too…

Masi: areh munna…..beta tabiyat toh theek hai nah

Jai: realizing what he was doing…aaheem….ha masi kiu..kuch soch raha tha…aaham…kaam ke bareh meh…hmm creasing his eyebrows…meh walk pe jarah hu

Masi: smiling…barish meh folding her hands infront??

Rano: lagta hai buddy ne kuch zyada hi kaam karli hai…laughing

Jai: hmmm aahemm…woh meh..ha meh kamre meh jata hai…..

The birthday party was beautiful….bani was dressed up all dolled up in a maple coloured ghagra….she looked absolutely beautiful….the whole chandigar was there …everyone wishing her and blessing her….
A shy BAni smiling and thanking everyone…..there were even some woman wondering if Masi was looking or a eligible boy for Bani and Masi would say…abhi nahi……making Bani blush and want to run away…..

Rano and Jai in a corner….

Jai: so champ what u think….
Rano: mujeh neend arahi hai
Jai: what ..common no seriously… do u want to study in Mumbai?? U have one more year left for high school….
Rano: squeezing her eyes….maybe…mujhe neend arahi hai…din bhar bhouth kaam ki….

Jai had an early flight to Mumbai next morning but getting up early mrng all of a sudden he didn't feel like going….but he had too…he had a busy week at work and a lot to get through.

Masi: Munn jana zaruri hai kya…..

Jai: dil toh mera bhi nai marn raha….aap Mumbai kiu nahi ajate ho Masi…

Jai: unko bhi saath lekar ao…kitna bada ghar toh hai hamara…kitne kamre khali pade hai
Masi: theek hai beta…yeh school ka saal khatam hojaye bus meh ai
Jai: that's almost a year Masi
Masi: ah beta…ladkiyon ko beech meh chor bito nahi sakti hu nah
Jai: acha Masi touching her feet…chalta hoon….
Jai looked back of Masi just incase

Masi: areh beta kya dhek rahe ho

Jai: kuch nahi Masi chalta hoon…bye…

With that he left…

What he didn't know was that on the righthand side of the hawel i behind the curtains in from her room Bani stood there watching as his car left…kuch khena tha shayad usko najane kiu darti thi….

Jai spent his days really engrossed in his work…..a few times he would think of Bani but as days went by she was shifted to the back of his head…..bani had become a faint memory that would bring a smile to his face whenever he thought of her…common Jai he would say she is young and innocent and u a man…..

Tthat year he didn't get a chance to go back to Chandigar after that last trip…days went by into weeks and weeks into months…soon the school holidays arrived and Masi with the girls were emigrating to Mumbai from Chandigar…..for good this time

Bani didn't want to go….Rano was eager she would be close to her buddy and her sisters so nothing could be better…the most exicited was Pia…she couldn't wait…she wanted the modern life…shopping…and boys….….Rano 16…Pia 18 and Bani 19…ready for their to switch back to the huge city life….

Jai was away on a business trip to Thailand for a month when all this happened so he was totally unaware of the move…..apparently Bani was given the room next to Jai and their balcony was adjoining…..Rano's was oppositer Sahils and Pia's close to Anu's

The three girls had settled well I the house…..Jigayasa never left an opportunity to taunt them…..Rano would always end up crying and running to her room …Pia would reply back and shut Jigayasa up and Bani…she would just get hurt and leave quietly…..sabse khush thi dadi coz she had such lovely company at hme now….Bani loving to cook would make different types of dishes for everyone I the house…

Dadi: areh putar tu agar itni achi khana roz banakar khailaye gin toh meh aur moti hojaugi….abhi toh apni figure maintain karni hai……making Bani laugh…tuje toh chef hona chahiye tha….

Bani loved being in that house…the only person who detested her was Jigs but on numerous occasions she loved to eat BAni's made dishes…who knows maybe in time she will like them too….

Rano and Sahil always fought..never getting along….however, Sahil really liked Rano…being the handsome hunk he was he had just started college and got attention from many girls…his list of girlfriends uncountable…but Rano she was mean mad stupid and different…he liked her a lot…..Aditya always siding with Rano and scolding Sahil most of the time

Whenever Bani would go to her room she would have to pass Jai's study…….out of curiosity she went in one day to find huge shelves of books and Bani being loved to read novels ..her taste was mostly ancient history and their happenings…two things she loved was reasoning out happens of the past and cooking …other than that she was good at almost everything…..

Every night she would make herself cormfortable in the huge chair by the fireplace in the study and engross herself in the book…Tony would always lit up the fire and bring a glass of milk or hot chocolate for her when she was there…..

Masi knew about this and nobody seemed to have any problem as long as Bani didn't touch Jai's things or rearranged anything…bani would never go to see Jai's things…there was a huge photo of him and his dad Sid uncle on the wall and Bani loved to stare at that picture…Jai must have been Bani's age at that point in time….he looked very nice and full of life……

Bani had started studying at Mumbar university too majoring in Hospitality and History…two weird combinations but she loved it…someday she would love to become a chef or run a chain of restaurants……

She was happy Jai wasn't around to some extent…he scared her…Masi would question her so many times but still she would be scared….everyone else she was herself but when Jai was around she was a mouse…only could squeak….thank God woh nahi hai…..in college she was known to be the quiet girl but only her close friends knew how fun and full of life Bani was.

It was late in the night and Bani had a major assignment based on history of Great Britain and the colonies they had ….it was going to be 40% towards her final grade so it was important…around 10pm at night she seated herself at her favourite spot…engrossed in two huge books half her size…one on her lap and the other on the floor….reading…..she was in her pyajamas with green socks on …her hair in a bun on the top of her head and no makeup whatsoever…..the chain that Jai gave around her neck (masi had insisted she wear it always since kitne pyar se kisine diya hai kisika remberence – Jai's dad's)…

Jai tired from his long trip decided to freshen up and head back to his study to check up on his emails that must be filling his inbox at work……oh how much he dreaded it…but he knew he had to get it done…..everyone was asleep and the house quiet..it was a relief though…at most he has to be up for another hour or so……it was freezing in here,….

Entering the study it was nice and warm and he felt good…turning towards his desk saw the most amazing thing ever…Bani clad inbetween two books half her size…one knee up and the other under her on the huge sofa….the fireplace lit give her frame a different glow…..one hand on the book and the other playing with his chain …now hers ofcoz…humming a song she was busy reading some stuffs…just mersmerized by her look…shaking her head from one side to the other totally engrossed in what she was reading….…Hair tied in a bun and he smiled…green socks…who wears green socks!!!! Smiling she looked warm and very cozy…looks like Masi agai hai

As Jai entered

Bani: oh Tony thanks…waha par rhakdo me lelugi…thank you smiling …she didn't look up….she knew Tony always brought her something to eat and drink…

Jai: yes sure madam…aur kuch chahiye???

Bani's hair's on the back of the neck stood up ….that voice..how can she forget that deep manly voice……stopping whatever she was doing…she slowly looked up..Jai leaning on the side of the door hands folded …lazily looking at her
