let's see,
1.he loved her (and unlike her has a better definition and understanding of love!)
2.so she starts pressurising him quite early, (gurudwara visit or even before that?) get me out of here (madam is not willing to tell Jai the truth herself because then she has to face his anger)
3. Pushky resists for as long as he can (give him a break, a young guy, totally in love with her, how long was he supposed to able to say no?)
so, no shina, no physical gun, only a big emotional one....

and even if i got that bit wrong - Pushkar could quite easily have gone and spoken to jai couldnt he? he knew him his whole life and jai doted on him! pushkar should have known how much this would kill him to be betrayed like this!
